Father Is Strange. An excellent family drama, but some 50 episodes. (Ignore the title, the father isn't remotely strange.) A mid-30s actor disrupts the lives of a family when he claims to be the man's son by an earlier relationship. The family consists of a devoted couple about 60 years old who run a sandwich shop and their four adult children. The actor was raised in the US, and his mother has always told him that she wrote to his father, but there was apparently no interest in him. The explanation is not anything I would have suspected.
