i have (primarily inattentive) adhd, so i'm also neurodivergent and i can relate a lot to woo young woo in this series. whilst adhd and autism spectrum disorder are two seperate and in many ways different disorders, there are also lots of overlaps - to name a few: hyperfocus, oftentimes not being able to relate to and be fully understood by peers, sensory issues (for me it's touch in particular).
i'm feeling really happy about the whole series so far and i'm glad the user IM YourOnlyOne shares their opinions and feedback on it from an austistic perspective on here!
(this is my first actual post on mdl that's why i'm a bit rambly hahah)
the young woo/joon ho scene at the end of episode 7 threw me off and i'm not sure how to feel about it:
despite me appreciating the fact that this series shows a well-rounded autistic adult woman, i was also a bit taken aback when i realised that they might show young woo kissing joon ho. i'm not sure whether this is because of me not fully seeing her as an adult (which i admit is ableist) or because of her visible discomfort that made me think she didn't actually want joon ho to come this close.
imo it would have sufficed for him to let her touch him, but maybe she also needs someone to challenge her dry approach to something as illogical as emotion.
would love some feedback, i'm very open to being convinced that the scene was actually romantic and not problematic :'))
