JFF+ Independent Cinema 2023 Aug-Oct
Found out about this late so won't be able to watch as many as I'd like. This list is to help me remember what I saw and to remind myself to check back in for the next one.
-
1. Sayounara Konbanwa
Japanese Movie - 2022
So glad I saw this. Gentle, slow, quiet.
-
2. Tenzo
Japanese Movie - 2019
-
3. A Muse Never Drowns
Japanese Movie - 2022
The loneliness of the first half was difficult for me but the ending made up for it.
-
4. Bachiranun
Japanese Movie - 2021
Some of the scenes of dairy farming and fishing/fish processing were difficult for me. The drops into surreal were disorientating. It was all a bit too far a stretch for me and kept me on edge. Others will love it for that.
-
5. Follow the Light
Japanese Movie - 2021
This is my favourite of the festival so far.
-
6. Bon Uta
Japanese Movie - 2018
perhaps a bit too long, at least for someone who wasn't invested in the subject going in.
note to myself have seen 1 hour 22 minutes
