2021 Watched List
To keep track of my thoughts on dramas I watched this year. This list includes on-hold dramas and dropped as well as anything I started in 2021
- The order is from oldest dramas to latest dramas (January 2021- December 2021)
-
101. My Dearly Sinful Mind
Hong Kong Drama - 2017, 28 episodes
- SO HAPPY WITH THIS DRAMA stumbled on it randomly I love a good psychological cop show and this brings intrigue to the cases and characters, It has a good amount of TVB actors I know and love as well which is a bonus. Kenneth's dramas are hit or miss for me but this one is a hit I prefer his serious roles compared to family comedy dramas
- LMAO THE UNLIKELY TRIO BROMANCE HAS ME DEAD. The short-tempered cop, the slow one with a disability where he's actually a super genius in math and tech but suck at human interactions and can't read social cues and the psychologist is too funny whenever they gather. I LOVE THEM
- The sister is a sweet social worker I love her character so kind but righteous but sadly gets into lots of danger bc of the ppl around her, the romances are so interesting
-
102. Every Move You Make
Hong Kong Drama - 2010, 20 episodes
- It's so psychologically accurate I remember half of this from my psych courses in uni I love it, but it's more episodic, a good food drama in the morning when I'm cooking or eating, pretty addictive, I miss my oldies the male lead is great. Never had any acting probs with TVB actors
- Aimee Chan is so pretty she looks identical to before and it's been over a decade, Bosco and her are cute here
-
103. AI Romantic
Hong Kong Drama - 2021, 30 episodes
This is the year of me falling back into TVB dramas, so happy we have a lot of new concepts and actors stepping up they are so good!
This one has so much fun set up with the AI concept, and Ali Lee killed it! ROMANCE IS SO WHOLESOME, FAMILY AND CHAOS IS SO PRECIOUS love it. Hope to see more sci-fi in HK dramaland soon
Based on the reviews I knew it would be good but this was next level in wholesome, family and rom-com department. I loved hearing Barrack O'Karma's OST here too, it's one of my favorite songs. That's the good thing with TVB they can reuse popular music since they produce most the dramas. EP 29 HAD ME CRACKING UP the family is so nice our ML goes blind and the FL is a wanted criminal so they decide to go in hiding and he wants to travel the world with her, but little do you know they are still in hong kong but the family still try their best to give him the dream vacay he wants. I laughed so hard there's a scene where he believes he's in Thailand and goes wander to a night market but it's just his family standing around and pretending like they are musicians, vendors and getting lit it's so cute and funny
-
104. Legal Mavericks
Hong Kong Drama - 2017, 28 episodes
Didn't read the synopsis so didn't know Vincent plays a blind character here, love his dramas Run Over Run and "Al Capuccino" so happy to watch the OG drama that had the trio working together (Sisley Choi, Owen Cheung and Vincent Wong). Love the chemistry and friendship between them, also the blind component is well done here, so much disability rep, wow TVB has some really good dramas
I like the cases and also perfect time cause I love Ali Wong in "AI romantic" and she's so different here, a really successful beautiful judge flirty, strong and confident, the real femme fatale. I like her with Vincent even though I feel bad for Sisley's character THE CHEMISTRY IS UNBEATABLE IN LOVE WITH THE QUARTET so smart, fun, badass and heartwarming I love it
- A blind lawyer, A gangster daughter as the legal secretary, a homeless private investigator as the roommate and a badass judge gotta love the team
-
105. Murder Diary
Hong Kong Drama - 2021, 25 episodes
Vincent is so vulgar here lmao, acting like a perv but the truth is he just has a weird way of figuring things out in his own way, an eccentric character but not over the top love this drama but been watching other HK dramas this is on hold for now
- I get sick of Mandy Wong's cop characters she's the same, stern self in the dramas but it works here with Vincent's crazy and goofy personality. He's so cool being a text analysis, he can tell you so much about someone's personality with every stroke, how thick or thin a character or line is
-Kara is so creepy here I love the mysterious vibes
-
106. Oh! My Boss! Koi wa Bessatsu de
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
like everyone said it's unrealistic by having the FL so lucky to work with one of the top fashion magazines in Japan and be the assistant of the chief editor just bc she wore cute clothes, she does not have the qualifications,
- Nanao is truly a beauty I think her character as the cold chief editor but will do anything for her job is admirable and even more interesting than the fl who is more typical, running her mouth and complaining about everything being unfair or "too hard"
Literally it's the FL's fault for not being prepared for the job, I bet she's getting paid good too but she's complaining cause she tried on a whim and got the job randomly but i'm sure this is meant to give her character growth later
Love the male lead he's a cutie and the leads pretend to date while his sister is the chief editor lol drama drama how fun
- Nanao is truly a beauty I think her character as the cold chief editor but will do anything for her job is admirable and even more interesting than the fl who is more typical, running her mouth and complaining about everything being unfair or "too hard"
-
107. The Veil
Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
The veil is so freaking BLOODY like long pauses on guts, headshots and injuries or guts
Nam Goong Min is STUNNING, his body is mindblowing, so buff and jacked like the wolverine in some scenes cannot believe the 8-9 months of non-stop training he did just for this 12 ep role. I am amazed by his dedication and also his voice is so addictive and seductive I can recognize him anywhere. He's so versatile, comedy kind and action, thrillers too
Without a doubt the best part of this is the cool action scene gun fights and Nam Goong Min but honestly it's a mess execution wise since the story starts off with a mission, we slowly see the pacing develop and I started to get into it, around the last 5 episodes though, it went off track for me and felt too rushed. Scrolling through the comments of the drama each episode viewers were left confused, the only thing that stood out was the amazing emotional range Nam Goong Min plays with rage filled eyes, anguish, dispair and sadness, Aside from that, um I watched the whole thing and was so confused and found the drama to be mediocre near the end. It felt like the writers try to cram so much information in one episode out of the blue the female lead would discover random leads and they barely have time to explain it, it feels like a whole info dump where the audience is expected to not really get it but forced to just go along with it which took me out of the drama for sure. It wasn't bad but definitely confusing 7/10 for me
-
108. Lovers of the Red Sky
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
Stunning production the 1st ep had me like WOW looks like a hollywood movie budget
- This drama gives me all the nostalgia I remember watching Kim Yoo Jung as a child actress in "The Moon Embraces the Sun" and many more dramas and now seeing her lead a similar drama with talented young actors that plays her younger version feels so full circle. I heard great things about this but waited a while to binge and WOW THE QUALITY!
- Korea really has some of the best child actors I feel like I appreciate them giving the actors more complex roles for sure they will end up being natural and get all the big roles in 5-6 years
- This drama is just beautiful in every way, the cinematography, the whole fated love story and the ML with the demon eyes, her story with her father is heartbreaking
-
109. Dear Diary
Chinese Drama - 2021, 24 episodes
I die laughing every ep, Richard Wang Ruichang and the ML are so fine smexy specimens
The cheesy af lines bc she was 12 when she wrote the fanfic has me dead, and Tiddany Hsu looks so good, the acting is so solid and there is a deeper message of being traumatized and how one event (being humiliated by your aunt/teacher and classmates) can haunt you for life making you feel reserved and distant with people. I do relate to this dealing with my personal demons too
EP 22 OMG I GOT CHILLS we finally got to the scene when he says those lines the vows we've been hearing at the end of every ep wow so well written, so intense and emotional so sad 2 eps left til it's over a very unique drama
I USUALLY drop dramas after not watching it for 2-3 weeks but after a month of on hold I went back to this and loved it all the same WOWED ME the performances and casting is perfection
Last few eps had me glued to my seat, and it was so so beautiful emotional and all the feels love the ending song and opening song . The last ep hinted at a happy ending for everyone but Ouyang Wen Shan who did the most and probably had the least screen time it was so sad all I wanted is 2-3 extra minutes hinting that he will meet his love again or something too. I guess It's realistic but very open ended poor 2nd cp at least dragon lady reunited with her man
-
110. Will Power
Hong Kong Drama - 2013, 30 episodes
my lunch break drama, I'm honestly not a fan of law dramas here for the cast and the personal stories the rivalry is so funny tho
- Fala's hair is terrible though, the romance for all couples are freaking slow, but so many familiar faces and some really interesting court cases
-
111. Hometown
Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
SCARIEST DRAMA I'VE EVER WATCHED because it's not really about supernatural entities, it's about human nature and a genius hypnosis controlling so many ppl in this small town. It's slow but fucking intense. I literally am so suspicious of everyone including the narrator, and it's one of those dramas that are so disturbing the more you think of it, there is blood, and death every episode but it's more than that. It's mostly psychological.
- Every ep, you think you get more clues to figure it out but the truth is it's a drama you can rewatch 10 times and pick up on the subtle facial expressions and interactions, it's so scary. The villain so far is actually the most chilling one I've watched in all kdrama history and girl I've been watching asian dramas for 13 years since I was legit in elementary school lol. It takes a lot to really wow me, this is so impressively written
- I love the leading actress such an emotional one loved her in age of youth 1 she suits this role of "I'm desperate, I want answers" and being tortured mentally exhausted with the crimes going on. TERRIFYING drama
-
112. Zombie Detective
Korean Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
The last ep is my favorite ep I enjoyed it so much
The world King Agency duo (Wang Wei and Sung Rok) became my faves in the show
- FL was ok, very typical and the cases weren't too interesting nor intense, it was more of a light-hearted comedy overall, wish they didn't save the big bad viallin case for the final 4 eps and introduced him as a friend before I think it would have made it way more interesting to have betrayal etc, but overall decent watch 7/10 but last ep was great so bumped to 7.5. Choi Jin Hyuk did an amazing job
-
113. The Pavilion
Chinese Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
Slow start on ep 3 now heard it picks up by ep 4, not the worst but despite the slow start it's kind of addictive. I honestly feel like you can watch the first 2 eps, skip to the end of ep 5 then watch ep 6 4-5 is kind of unnecessary except for the ending of ep 5.
- I feel like this will be the weakest link of the light on series I'm gonna stick with it and try to watch most or all the light on released this year
- Final eps were interesting and I'm happy they didn't go with the twin as the villain but it missed the mark being a true suspense thriller crime for me it was more of a family drama 80% and mystery 20%
-
114. Rebirth for You
Chinese Drama - 2021, 40 episodes
not into it, i hate Ju Jing Yi's makeup she's already very pale but it seems like her foundation and makeup crew always goes one shade lighter and against the bright red lipstick she looks creepy especially when you zoom in, I guess it's useful if they are filming in yellow lighting or shady areas or at night, but overall it bothers me a lot
- chemistry is okay, not the worst but I will continue watching. JJY is 26-27? but all her roles feel childish hope she takes more mature roles like "One and Only" instead of forcing female leads to be "smart" but still have a childish personality. It's definitely a bigger problem in the industry as a whole and it isn't just this drama
-
115. The Justice
Chinese Drama - 2021, 42 episodes
this drama wastes no time at all first 2 eps you get the backstory of the male lead by ep 4 he's marrying the FL
I am a sucker for republican dramas since there's action and usually a more mature romance and wow this one delivers on every level. Who knew I would fall for an economical finance themed drama
It's kind of a mystery too bc the FL has a secret goal to revenge her father and the leads are both very smart so there's moments where he's suspicious of her and they hide their true feelings towards one another and he thinks she's using him for her revenge plan so it's kind of like a psychological mystery on some levels and it's so interesting
- the cast is beautiful I've seen Cai Wenjing in smaller roles the past 2 years so happy for her success their romance here is legit couple of the year, the hardships, love and trust they share is incomparable love them
-
116. Dali and the Cocky Prince
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
- Fun fact FL went to one of the best uni's in Korea known for english courses so her english here is great really not cringy at all plus she's so cute I don't like the childish FL type but she makes it more playful and cute than annoying
-The plot is like none but why do I enjoy it so much lol? It's cute . I love the FL she's so confident, nice and rational, the ML is adorable completely falling for her their relationship is so wholesome and it feels natural. I like this more than home cha, and the steamy scenes are *blushes*
-
117. The Devil Judge
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
Ji Sung is everything and his house aesthetic making me drool looking like a giant gothic victorian era castle. tvN doing it again with an interesting concept, beautiful cinematography, editing and unique take on the legal genre, but too much on my plate at the end of Oct, will pick this up in a month or so
- right now I'm prioritizing currently airing bc I can catch up faster
-
118. Once We Get Married
Chinese Drama - 2021, 24 episodes
first 4 eps were okay, honestly this would be a 7 but I would give it a 7.5-8 just because the chemistry is good and the male lead's acting is spectacular for the "cold male lead on the outside but falls in love with his wife even if he can't admit it" trope.
- very typical plot though, you will probably guess every aspect of it for instance, there's the typical side characters who have a crush on the male lead or the female lead, misunderstandings, jealousy, etc. What you would normally find in a contract marriage drama but it's still fun if you enjoy the trope. If you don't like the trope-filled romance and want a more refreshing take, I would say skip it.
-
119. My Lucky Star
Taiwanese Drama - 2007, 20 episodes
honestly clothing isn't bad but camera and editing is lol makes me have a headache can't watch it beyond 1.5 speed, but story is still addictive and fun. It's a classic can't wait to complete my rewatch of it feeling nostalgic, will start re-watching more taiwanese dramas, hong kong dramas etc.
This drama stood out to me from a lot of older dramas because the chemistry is strong and it was the first time I saw a female lead who was balanced, strong kind-hearted but it's realistic if you don't have education or were poor what else can you do but be a thief or hang out with the wrong people. She has her dreams too but situation after situation she was forced to lie to get out of tough situations now it became a personality trait
It's so intriguing to have a female lead with this side compared to the typical naive good girl. TIl now you don't see this much relatable traits and flaws in female lead characters (except them being childish or whiny). I like the whole character arch the main leads go through and the whole "good people can do bad things" concept the romance is beautiful too with the 2 leads everyone judging them on the outside but they are similar and kind on the inside. It's truly one of those dramas where the female seems like she's the boy who cried wolf but it's more unintentional unlucky circumstances, she loves deeply and her only alive blood relationship is her uncle who is addicted to gambling and is the worst she just has shitty luck but it changes once she meets the male lead in a realistic way gradual pacing through hard work not over night
- Kind of slow near the later half, but ending is nice and enjoyed it a lot I did dump it down to 8.5 compared to the original rating 10 years ago as a 9. It's freaking cheesy and cringe at time but passionate and sweet too
-
120. One the Woman
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
Decided to give it another try since MMTG interview on youtube highly recommend the channel for anyone who likes unique and fun kdrama actors and kpop interviews
- The first ep of ep 1 took a while to get good but by ep 2 I was hooked Honey Lee or Lee Hanee is so fun to watch, it's so satisfying to see her take the place of the timid pushover character and curse at those who wronged her, she's so relatable and hilarious.
Ep 2 best scene: HOW TO MAKE DUMPLINGS 101: Imagine ur strangling the necks of your evil step mom/siblings LMFAO I love her
- Also shout out to the Vietnamese rep with trang the new house help, props to Lee Hanee for trying hard to pronounce Viet It's a hard language she was pretty bad but the acting was good in those scenes so I didn't mind as a viet person myself. So cool
The romance is a friends to lovers slow burn but by the half way point the male lead is whipped for the FL there's this scene that was hilarious where he faked his injury and got busted but kept on trying cause he likes her. There's funny romance tropes but the female lead does it like the tieing your shoe lace scene but instead of the man tying the woman's shoes it's the FL who does it for the male lead hahaha XD so fun and interesting. All the family drama and mystery is interesting too
-
121. Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
the ost is so good, i love the banter and homey feel, it definitely is a heartwarming fun drama, like virgin river. Very wholesome, but not the best. I do like the romance but it was a bit slow took around 9-10 eps but the good thing is the leads are quite relatable, love their banter and yes it's cute when they're together but honestly some moments were so cringy I was like this is too much and a bit over the top cutesy cutesy. I love Juri the lil fangirl brat and her dad their storyline and whole development was nice. Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min Ah are definitely natural together, I prefer the deeper moments where they understand each other deeply, but seeing 2 adults in their mid 30s doing baby talk to each other lol it took me out of the show no matter how good looking they are it might be just be lmfao . I prefer other dramas in the genre, like Laughter in Waikiki or the Reply Series
But I do get the hype it is refreshing for 2021 at least since we didn't have too many romances in a little town vibes but compared to other dramas I watched I felt like it was a bit over rated probably bc it's avail. on Netflix making it more enjoyable and acessible to binge. Side note *shin min ah doesn't age she's up there with Han Hyo Joo, Jun Ji Hyun, Song Hye Kyo, Jang Nara the freaking ageless queens I did finish it in 2 days which is usually the normal pace for me if a drama is addictive.
Props to the cute child actor Yi Jun he's so mature for his age in the show and the reason was heartbreaking and so sweet and touching
Overall it's good but I think overrated. it's more of an 8-8.5/10 than a 9 or 10.
-
122. We Best Love: No. 1 For You
Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
this was so addictive and cute, I love the whole rivalry childhood stuff between the leads Shi De was a bit questionable with the whole locking them in a infirmary thing but I guess it worked out well. The leads are both very good looking and swoon worthy haha. Saving the 2nd season for when I have nothing to watch . This does feel a bit short but cute
November seems to have lots of upcoming dramas so I can't wait for those. will complete my airing list before I start new ones though
-
123. Fish Upon the Sky
Thai Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
Literally the perfect drama I was craving, short, sweet no drama or melodrama plot line, love that Nan is so kind and not toxic, no stupid jealousy love triangle, even when he rejects the main character I'm like wow how sweet <3 Mork Pi is really cute my fav is Mork and his loving gazes and tenderness. Fun fact Mork aka Pond in real life is more of the chill quiet type compared to Phuwin who is a chatterbox. GMM finding the best looking young talents, I think they'r eboth 20. Such a smart move on the network cause they don't have to pay too much for popular faces but still give us a good drama with new talent. I didn't want a bl drama that had too many intimate scenes, more laid back style which I liked about this one alot
-
124. Bite Me
Thai Drama - 2021, 11 episodes
Very slow but Kinda interesting? idk am I here the food and cute guys with maybe baby steps romance? sure why not
-
125. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Chinese Movie - 2000
my eyes were glued to the screen after 15 mins and damn the desert fight is so good
-
126. Farewell My Concubine
Chinese Movie - 1993
the only movie idk how to rate bc it's brutal and disturbing through and through phenomenal acting wow
-
127. Nevertheless,
Korean Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
I saw comments and poor ratings but I was obsessed with this drama and cast. It was so addictive, sure wasn't perfect but it was different. Toxic romance not perfect characters, it's a complex situation. And yes Song Kang was so damn alluring I was drawn into the mystery of him too. It was so good. Gave it a 8/10 I did want more from it though, especially the ending wish we had 1 more epilogue episode to see how they are in the future, it is an open ending ish did they both heal and become better people, there are enough hints to interpret it that way or was it more of a moth lured to a flame you can't help it even if you'll get burned.
Also good on them for LGBTQ rep. A lot of ppl are saying it was queerbaiting, I didn't think so. I think with Netflix dramas get to be a bit more ballsy so things that normally wouldn't sit well with Korean audiences get to be explored a bit more, blood, gore, spicy scenes, mature storylines and relationships too. I would like to see similar dramas moving forward. Song Kang and Han So Hee are the darlings of Netflix they have both been in 2-3 dramas this year and hopefully more good ones in the future
-
128. Arthdal Chronicles Part 1: The Children of Prophecy
Korean Drama - 2019, 6 episodes
The cinematography is unreal here wow stunning production, a visual feast. Very game of thrones vibes all the actors are great. just WOW it was a high quality ride, Tanya, Eun Seom, Tagon all very charismatic characters. really the cinematography and sets are out of this world. The stakes are high good set up for the middle which will probably be my fave. I'm sure everyone's fave Yang Cha and Tanya silent bodyguard ship will happen next few eps which has me more excited
One of the most unique kdrama experiences.Tagon is the most interesting character for me, the charisma hard to take your eyes off of, as expected from veteran Jang Dong Gun but lol Song Joong Ki playing twins was unexpected I was confused at the end of ep 6 when she found him
-
129. Why R U?
Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
love the main 2 pairs but the other 2-3 couples for me are confusing and cringe. No real plot but it's okay I'm dying for the tension and almost kisses from Fighter and Tutor. Saint is too good in these dramas. He's adorable. The perf fluffy not too much drama bl drama
- Love the animation too
Zon tearing up with Saifah felt so intimate and sweet they are my fave wholesome couple <3 I love how they thank each other for walking into each other's lives so they can meet, SO PRECIOUS
-
130. Wisher
Chinese Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
FINALLY started it, kinda slow but not as bad as Pavillion, def gonna finish this, it's my in-between drama from Novoland and Love at Night and Jmovie addiction lol
Good acting, all the characters are believable and fits the roles. Really love the graphics and neon colours in the theme song it suits the vibe. Predictable? A little especially the first few eps, but gets better as we go on
-
131. Fall in Love
Chinese Drama - 2021, 36 episodes
So cute. OMG LIN YAN JUN 2nd ML stole my heart but I like them both. the FL is so good at the evil eye or side glances it's so funny I like her, and the bickering moments is typical romance trope but so fun, and wow the sets are gorgeous full of the glam life and visual fest I wanted from this era. men in uniform, suits and women in beautiful clothes though sometimes the dresses are a bit too extra frilly and over the top it's still cute
The props are terrible and some moments are meme worthy but will I continue one day for the ridiculously handsome leads even though this is not historically accurate in any way? DUH
-
132. Lovely Writer
Thai Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
the male lead gives me kdrama actor vibes instead of thai it's cute I like the introvert gentle voice ML. Kao is so handsome happy to see him again after UWMA
-
133. Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai VS Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko
Japanese Special - 2021, 1 episode
Hilarious, adorable, Need a season 2. So many attractive handsome actors in this drama also, very similar to dramas like Extraordinary You or Lost Romance where the leads are self aware knowing they exist in a fake world, made up with tropes but it's extra entertaining bc they are trying to figure out who the main leads are since they are the side characters, they also poke fun at tropes in rom-coms and bls, loads of ppl falling in love left and right under the rain, after looking into each other's eyes forever, the drunken romance trope, our ML actively avoids being shipped with other male characters in this bl universe.
-
134. The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion
Korean Movie - 2018
Kim da Mi's cute face murdering everyone without blinking is so creepy, she's not out right a psycho like Woo Sik's character but she might be even crazier than him lol wish this was a drama though I felt a bit unssatisfied with the open ending. It was good but I wish we got more story? Action and gore fest was bloody and surprising but after a couple of times I was like so...what's new? Not bad though
-
135. Hyouka: Forbidden Secrets
Japanese Movie - 2017
similar vibes to the anime, compact into 1 I enjoyed it, not bad at all. Love Kento, but his role was very basic here haha, I need to watch more of his movies
-
136. Novoland: Pearl Eclipse
Chinese Drama - 2021, 48 episodes
Yang Mi is adorable and pulls off the cute innocent character well without getting on my nerves or feeling cringy which is good
- pacing is slow especially romance it feels like angst misunderstandings , sound track is ok, usually I expect better and bigger OSTs for this type of drama but tbh nothing stands out particularly in the first 5 eps. Xu Kai Cheng is thee bipolar He's a tyrant that has grown tired of living so he takes it out on everyone, but poor mu deqing his eunuch has me cracking up everytime poor man everything he does he is walking on thin ice and just cowers and cries each time it's sad but hilarious, but it's also the best part about his character it's interesting and not too predictable but I ship him with the consort not with Hai Shi at all even though it's heading that way according to the original novel
MOST INTERESTING COUPLE? The Emperor and Consort Shurong XKC acting feels a bit over the top and takes me out of a few scenes but overall I like that their story is unpredictable
SO SLOW I'M OVER THIS - ep 28, SPOILERS they only get together on ep 34 tho I do have to say after ep 32 the drama gets kinda good again and exciting even if it's predictable with the final villain, Hai Shi kinda annoys me w/ how she rarely trusts Master Fang even though she's loyal and all with the "plot twist" Zhuoying rebel moment a bit hypcritical
THE ENDING IS SO POWERFUL I BUMPED THE RATING UP DEVASTATING BUT BEST PERFORMANCES FROM ALL THE ACTORS BY FAR. William Chan's acting here was ok but I really bought it at the end and I was rlly invested in emperor/tilan and his scene guarding her door for hours when she was in labour heartbreaking and beautiful at least they went together
-
137. The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity
Chinese Movie - 2020
THAT LAST FIGHT? EPIC! Wang Yuwen is so good here, the actors are great, CGI is good too, and romance? I enjoyed it a lot
-
138. Drowning Love
Japanese Movie - 2016
It's meant to be my Jmovie princess Nana Komatsu, I've been meaning to watch her movies, and all of a sudden she announced her marriage with Suda Masaki and I was so FREAKING HAPPY, this movie is heartwrenching, the ending hurt me so badly, it's beautiful that their love runs so deep that they don't end up together but still keep each other in their hearts, it's about love loss and sacrifice. The chemistry was there though it was a bit confusing, would had made one hell of a drama though, love them. Their portrayal of teenagers heavy emotions, lashing out, immature yet free emotions was so damn good. I get why a lot of people hated it but I really liked it
-
139. As the Gods Will
Japanese Movie - 2014
SO FUN, BLOODY AND BRILLIANT? Been on my list forever and I was in a F it mood Imma watch whatever I want but specifically Jmovie mood, let's see how many more fun stuff I dig up before the end of the year. Also the ending was heartbreaking there's no way to beat the game of luck which makes it scary af
-
140. Love at Night
Chinese Drama - 2021, 30 episodes
LIU XUE YI IS SO HOT HERE ESPECIALLY WITH THE GUITAR AND SINGING damn the costume dramas really don't do him justice, his looks and smirks are smoldering and the chemistry is so good. Fun Fact they were rumored to be dating but his team spoke up saying they are actually neighbours and live in the same luxury apartment building. But if they are dating i''m not surprised. Love the jazzy mature theme song very fitting for the vibe
-
141. Kikazaru Koi ni wa Riyuu ga Atte
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
WHOLESOME love the FL hardworking, and all the side characters in the share house is good too. FL gives me Cheng Xiao vibes
-
142. Psychologist
Chinese Drama - 2021, 40 episodes
zhang ruo nan <3 Jing Bo ran is so handsome here and the cases are interesting, slowly watching it on youtube
-
143. To Fly with You
Chinese Drama - 2021, 35 episodes
very typical, what I expected from this but it's still cute and I'm here for it
-
144. The Kodai Family
Japanese Movie - 2016
funny concept, sweet moments but the story lacked development on the girl's part I felt it was instalove for her while the guy's telepathy and finding her thoughts amusing, adventurous and wholesome makes sense to me, but the girl it just seems like she fell for him bc she never dated anyone before. Blackface scene was a bit much I get Japanese comedy can be very over the top and all but even 5 years ago when this was released I don't think it would have been a good idea especially since it was released to international film festivals.

145. Ossan's Love
Japanese Drama - 2018, 7 episodes
HILARIOUS. I love Maki and the ML is so entertaining, it's a freaking love pentagon. I'm happy I found it now cause I can binge all the sequels, spin-offs and movies. J-BLS are my fave always loaded with comedy and cuteness
-
146. My Sweet Dear
Korean Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
I felt nothing but when I started to like the couple and got a feel for their story around ep 6 and 7 it was over, WAY TOO SHORT, romance was abrupt from rivals to I got locked in a storage room with you now I love you was too cliche and I didn't buy it even if there were cute moments, but it wasn't terrible, so I gave it a 6. would have been a solid 7.5 if it was 30 mins an ep to flesh out characters and all
-
147. Color Rush
Korean Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
The leads are so handsome, this is how you do it in 15 mins, I thought it would be too short but nope it's only My Sweet Dear where it felt abrupt, that's due to the writing, this manages to introduce a unique dystopian concept where there's colour blind people and their true love or special person will allow them to have a color rush or be able to see the world in color, but not all of it ends in happiness, there's real issues of addiction after the color rush, it's dangerous too. Very interesting, the eyes of the guy in the mask gives me Cha Eun Woo vibes

148. Theory of Love
Thai Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
I HATE KHAI for hurting Third this is one of the saddest shows I've seen
3 years of Unrequited Love BL it's frustrating but honestly interesting cause I wanna know how Khai will end up falling and all the Off Gun edits got to me lmfao, I am on the train/ship now. It only took 3 years, but bc of that I like the drama more if I didn't know they were so close in real life honestly I would skip this drama cause first 3-4 eps is so sad, while Khai is so mean and stupid, careless bastard who takes his friend for granted whether or not he knows of Third's feelings, he literally ditches him every time they have plans for his girls, meanwhile Third is so loyal that so many girls confess to him but he ignores them.
Khai is the definition of jocky playboy, also so happy we are getting film majors instead of typical engineers- Actors are so on point though my heart did break for Third, some may call him a pushover doing the most for Khai who will disappoint and hurt him yet he falls every time, it's sad and hopeless which made me want to root for him more. GMM knows how to pick these good looking young talent So I thought it would take 5 eps max for Khai to start showing remorse but nope he's a jerk all the way til ep 10 and our ML was so frustratingly in love with him that even when he knows he was treated like crap, he still falls for him but finally he's had enough and that's when Khai decides to fall for him, so was I happy with the story line nope not at all, but was it addictive and I loved the actors so much? YES Probably one of the best acting in GMM for newer leads, and also 10/10 FOR THE POSTER DESIGNS genius for remaking popular romance films since they are from the film major. So that gets an extra .5 from me, but overall I was frustrated the whole drama lol but was it a tactic that made me click on the next ? Yes it did l

149. He's Coming to Me
Thai Drama - 2019, 8 episodes
Been on my list forever and since I'm in a BL mood, It's the perf drama to follow up Theory of Love, we love Singto know he's already a good actor so acting wise it's guarantee to be good, story wise I am a sucker for anything supernatural or fantasy especially in BL since it's so unique. Singto plays a dead 22 year old ghost who can't reincarnate bc there's no one in the world who remembers him or cares to visit his grave, he narrates the story at first I I KNEW THIS ONE WAS GONNA BE AN EMOTIONAL RIDE in the best way, There's this festival that I think most asian cultures have it if you've seen it's the day of the dead, if you've seen the movie Coco it's basically that and he meets a uni student who can see and talk to him, they work together to uncover the truth about his death and fall in love
Genuinely the leads are so nice here, literally got so invested from just the first ep, it's beautiful, could become my fav BL of all time shout out to a subscriber Miss Augustine for commenting on my monthly reviews vids, and recommending me dramas . I am picky with BLs I watch them but the ones I really like must have a good storyline
EVEN THE COMEDY IS WHOLESOME AND CUTE ep 2 Mes whose been dead for like 10 years doesn't know how to use social media so he accidentally uses Thun's account and posted "How Do you reincarnate? as a public facebook status and explained it's bc the internet was asking what he was feeling at the moment? HAHA I love it

150. Praomook
Thai Drama - 2021, 15 episodes
Honestly aside from the main leads everything is mediocre this is your typical I'm gonna take revenge in a contract marriage relationship where the parents ship them, it would get a high score from me since the chemistry is so good but it's 1 hr 40 mins an ep and like most thai dramas, the main story is weighed down by so many unnecessary side characters stuff, the fighting over the company is so out of place during the first half cause the male lead doesn't even care about it so therefore you as a viewer don't care either, I get that it's for set up but I'd rather just focus on the main 2 couples. The best plot line is how the Male lead uses the 2nd couple male lead aka his bestie to pretend that he's not into the girl. The whole fake BL plot was so funny.
I also love the OST very catchy, filled with eye candy good looking actors which is good but honestly I spent 30 mins out of the whole 1 hr 35 min watching while the rest felt like unnecessary filler so 6/10 for me even though it was addictive. The thing with most thai dramas is you gotta be in a mood for them, always expect loads of side character dramas it's rare to have a short and to the point drama,

151. Hellbound
Korean Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
honestly loved the first 3 eps though it took me a while to get into, very brutal killings, and so creepy, very religion heavy which totally creeps me out more than things like squid games which is bloody but entertaining, this is straight up philosophical horror. I love the different factions Arrow Head, New Truth? and normies, it's wild and intense, and the acting is so good but I hated the time skip moment is abrupts and feels like a whole new story but definitely setting up for a S2, if it ends here I need to lower my ratings even more
-
152. Work Later, Drink Now
Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
Jin Gu aka Eunji was my fave but after the last ep and the funeral moment she became my fave, she really isn't dumb, she's bright optimistic and ignores the bad stuff but when it comes down to it she has her shit together and they all balance each other out LOVED THIS very heavy emotions in the last 3-4 eps, I love it but can't give it a 10, since that's usually reserved for dramas that resonate with me and is just next level, this is hands down my favorite sismance/friendship drama tho so that's saying a lot I love age of youth but these girls feel like they really did go through everything together. Chemistry is irreplaceable Siwon's character cracks me up
-
153. The King's Affection
Korean Drama - 2021, 20 episodes
I like the main leads, FL is good as a "male" at least better than the dramas where the girl doesn't pass as a guy as all, she gives me bai lu vibes. Rowoon is his flirty self here and I love it
-I do like the FL as being a bit more forward and cool personality due to her disguised as a man the whole time, and the ML is the softer more feminine one in some parts
-moments of highs and lows but the angsty push pull is kinda repetitive cause it's the same reason the whole time, and it should have been 16 eps in my opinion
CHEMISTRY AND ACTING MOVED ME, beautiful ending, could have been 3 eps short like 16-17 eps max still very good, but yeah pacing was unnecessary some moments and kinda predictable since the big bad was shown too early, he wasn't rlly menacing just annoying to me
I do love a good strong FL and reverse role trope which isn't done often but the ML is the more of the scholarly language arts type while FL is alpha male doing the hunting and rigorous fighting and scheming -
154. Chimera
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
kinda slow start but I will watch anything Park Hae Soo is in, very interesting take on serial killers though with burning/ combustion and explosions
-
155. Yumi's Cells
Korean Drama - 2021, 14 episodes
ALSO I LOVE THE HUMOR and awkward interaction when ur brain goes blank, it's so awks, but it does happen it's refreshing to see what's going on IN their minds since we can often judge ppl quickly but there's 2 sides to the story. MINHO IS SO HANDSOME OMG, we stan SHINee and baby face Minho, his smile is everything. Woong's first meeting with Yumi is SO AWKWARD I laughed so hard but totally refreshing
ALSO I LOVE THE HUMOR and awkward interaction when ur brain goes blank, it's so awks, but it does happen it's refreshing to see what's going on IN their minds since we can often judge ppl quickly but there's 2 sides to the story
Reminds me of "Inside Out" animation movie. And Writers are so good every little thought gets to be played out in such a unique way

156. Who Is the Murderer
Chinese Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
Best one by far, need to catch up on wisher, been downloading this and luoyang as my 2 night time dramas loving them. Good acting, and Liying is in a quite different role, she's so mysterious a creepy at the start when she's in ep 3. Good pacing, and Dong Zi Jian is great
-my go to crime drama at the moment love it
-
157. Luoyang
Chinese Drama - 2021, 39 episodes
first ep was confusing due to fast pace without too much context but it does establish that this drama has ONE HELL OF A BUDGET omg the designs and details on the clothing alone is just wow, the joint corps aka costume drama CIA is so damn cool, the way they hired so many actors and created machinery for that one scene very impressive
Fight Scenes are so intense and has me holding my breath Huang Xuan is really so good, I honestly came for the high quality and was not disappointed, though Song Yi in the first few eps are so underused with her chasing Yibo's character calling him Erlang a waste to me since's she's so good, but seems like she will play a bigger part later, she's hilarious to me while others find her annoying I'm sure she will grow on the audience once erlang falls for her
All actors are good, but Huang Xuan is too good he's on another level so when you have him compared to yibo and victoria he definitely looks more natural on camera. Wow his character is the lone wolf seeking revenge, and his mind? Brilliant, his plans are so well executed in the drama since he's quite manipulative and good at getting people to trust him. The story between him and Victoria is addictive, and I crave it when I see them together on screen the forbidden love is definitely an underlying plot simmering in the background creating just the perf amount of angst, and tension making it so interesting
pacing is good and THE CANDLES OMG so many, beautiful sets and natural lighting aka the candles and lanterns
-Music is so good there's some rlly eerie sound tracks as BGMThe ending plot twists were quite predictable I think most of us saw things coming, hated that ppl started dropping dead like flies for no reason or doing something contradictory to their smart and careful character so far, so inconsistencies and a bit underwhelming but still 9/10 for music, cast and production
-
158. Game of Outlaws
Thai Drama - 2021, 19 episodes
So good, I like Tae and Mark so much best actors, the pacing is good, but the step sis is annoyung
BEST TAEW DRAMA EVER, BEST KISS EVER (EP 7) romance is so deep here, no punches pulled thai drama is wild but this has the craziest action I've ever seen from prison fight scenes to everyone getting shot and things going right side up the next minute, unpredictable, and interesting, no love tri since ML is so devoted to FL, so much happened in just 5 eps hoping it will maintain pacing and interest all the way through
The raw emotions, just wows me, Tae, Mark, Yaya and Kao and Ohm are my all time faves but this rlly blew my high expectations away.
Main complaint: rlly stupid bgm full of rock while there's fighting scenes going on the sound effects clash with the bombs, gun shots and punches or car screeching making my head spin too much

159. Switch On
Thai Drama - 2021, 24 episodes
not bad for a remake Aom is the itgirl for drama remakes haha love her
-
160. The Red Sleeve
Korean Drama - 2021, 17 episodes
SO GOOD! I get the rave all over twitter and the popularity made it have 1 special ep! Junho and Seyoung are my faves Se Young is my fav actress, didn't expect this to be pretty light and entertaining compared to The King's Affection which is angsty push pull
Acting here is so strong, I love how they can go from one intense minute to a light cute moment, she def walks an narrow line with her being a court lady the lowest rank and powerless among all the royals out to kill each other
-
161. Our Beloved Summer
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
the chemistry is everything, this is hilarious, have you seen the photoshoots? Besties in a drama? We love it. WOuldn't be surprised if they end up dating irl
-
162. Lie to Love
Chinese Drama - 2021, 32 episodes
Not bad, not good either, strong start, good concept but feels diluted with all the b.s between uncle and male lead, it's obvious he's the villain, but I wish the executed it better, making it a bigger mystery. There's probably more ppl involved but still... also happy there's no real 2nd male lead love triangle,
FL is really smart. Xie Yi's scene where she was trapped in the room but found a way out by pretending to escape was smart. This drama has its ups and downs, I do like that the ML has an artificial leg and it does tie into the plot instead of being ignored. Chemistry is decent as well, just wished they played on that enemies to lovers or misunderstanding trope a bit more since they both warmed up to each other too quickly, making everything feel like filler when they're not together anymore, compared to before when you're interested in their plot individually, especially her sneaking around the office. Side couple here is actually interesting for once Oscar and Chu Chu
Ep 17- gonna start skimming thru a bit draggy
-
163. Sword Snow Stride
Chinese Drama - 2021, 38 episodes
FINALLY it airs and Ruo Yun is as great as ever so funny here one of the best actors and my fav of all time due to how natural he is on screen, his comedic timing doesn't feel cheesy at all very hard to pull off since comedy doesn't sit well with everyone, but I've never met anyone who dislikes him or his dramas
-impressive casting, and no skin lightening, the opposite, everyone appears dirtier and tanned which is way more realistic for the time and era, the fight scenes are so cool, especially Crystal Zhang Tian ai and Vengo Gao's special appearances. So happy this got off the shelves, praying for The Fated General to Air soon
-
164. Show Window: The Queen's House
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
OMG I started Artificial City but it didn't make me addicted, but this one does. Everyone here is nuts, maybe I should watch Penthouse this is so enjoyable, after seeing smiley and cute Somin on Running Man it's weird to see her in a mistress role but she's crazy here and I totally buy the drama
Is the man worthy of all this? Never, but I understand the motivations of both women with a traumatic past, I love this and caught up to all the eps in 1 sitting, ouu la la, definitely at least an 8 for entertainment, I like the name too. Both FL are good actors, wish there was a drama where the women team up instead of kill each other but let's see how this plays ou. Does it bring something diff to the table? Nope we got cheating, rich ppl, suicide, blackmail and pregnancies
-
165. Dream Garden
Chinese Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
Another slowly released and subbed project, and finally a GJ drama I enjoy aside from Word of Honor. this one has an interesting premise and shorter than psychologist which has hit or miss cases, the first eps are interesting and relatively fast paced with the mystery introduced and completed in 1-2 eps, and I like the dynamic between the leads, I prefer GJ in more mature modern romances compared to his rom-com projects he seems more at ease and more natural. His acting is improving
-
166. Utsukushii Kare
Japanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
Not sure how I feel about this, it deserves at least 10 eps since it feels so choppy I get that it's supposed to be psychological but all I feel is abrupt change of heart, the ep 5 with change in perspective helps to know Kiyoi's feelings and how he can't express himself and is confused which is why he's a bit violent and rude but idk. I do like that it's semi-realistic with how teens are with passion and all they do what they want, and are flawed, hurting themselves and others with their outburst of feels and passion, but overall this feels a bit toxic to me. Hira is also scary af the scene where he let rage take over and fantasized of shooting everyone who bullied Kiyoi was messed up, dude has anger issues 6/10 for concept but poor execution it needs to be fleshed out a bit more and actors are rookies so I will cut them some slack but it does feel rigid
-
167. Delicious Romance
Chinese Drama - 2021, 20 episodes
Don't know the leads but I was craving something like Work Later Drink Now and this really fills its shoes, quite good and believable relationship between the 3 females and I love how food is incorporated. Subs are so slow though
-
168. Bad Buddy
Thai Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
It's as good as I thought it would be, the bad buddies name is a bit misleading more like frienemies than hate to love. OHM'S ARMS omg he's so good looking wtf
-
169. The Silent Sea
Korean Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
Mediocre which is a shame for that star-studded cast. CGI is bad in some eps, but when they aren't using it after ep 3 as much it's good It could have used 2 more eps since some pacing inconsistencies that needed to be fleshed out more. Earth has no water, and the moon is the opp, the water is killing them their ironic and smart. Not perf but still a good binge
-
170. Jirisan
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
Love the actors, intense opening eps, but CGI is very obv and green-roomed at some points
-
171. The One and Only
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
-
172. Hello Missfortune
Hong Kong Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
started it randomly and ended binge watching 3 eps in one row it's so damn funny and good, help I love it. HK dramas are finally going the rom-com young actors route and playing with sci-fi and fantasy genres which I love
-
173. Ace Troops
Chinese Drama - 2021, 40 episodes
Once I sat my butt down and watched it so damn good and hilarious, the way they prank the commanders is so funny. I love the comraderie and friendship and how they are seen as the dumb hot-headed rookies now they are determined to make their underdog team rise to the top. Xiao Zhan's acting here is diff from his other aloof and kind hearted characters, he's more strict, cold and smart, while Gao Liang aka Johnny Huang is the comedic one who takes risks but they bounce off each other well, and the bond is strong. I love watching their everyday training regimen, so intense and no punches pulled there was one scene where they went to 5 diff check points and it's the hardest trial of all time to get into the military troops, but despite their differences in skills, and how exhausted they were, they pulled through it was impressive and hard to watch cause they were near the breaking point w/o food, water and still carried on w/ determination. A hot-headed team that isn't ur typical we follow the chain of command team will def get you emotionally invested in the characters, making an awesome drama

174. Used Good
Hong Kong Drama - 2021, 20 episodes
