Couples with switch energy
AKA my favorite romance dynamic in dramas.
These are romance dramas where the leads have a switch dynamic, i.e., either person can take on a more dominant role in the relationship. I'm mostly including couples where it seems to me like the leads really enjoy trading roles, whether in intimacy or in their general lives.
These are my opinions based on the shows I've seen. Feel free to argue differently

1. Mr. Queen
Korean Drama - 2020, 20 episodes
Top of the list. This is one of my favorite couples in one of my all-time favorite dramas. The leads push and pull and test each other's limits constantly until they finally settle into a more gentle and supportive dynamic.

2. Miss Mystery
Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
Right from the start the switch energy is flying off the screen. One second the ML is pinning the FL against a wall, the next she's shoving him around and pointing a gun at his heart.
In the plot generally I'd say the ML takes a more background role supporting the FL's revenge plan, and he definitely falls first.

3. Who Rules the World
Chinese Drama - 2022, 40 episodes
Leads are rivals, equal in power and skill, constantly competing in their day-to-day. You can't convince me they weren't up to the same things in the bedroom.

4. My Lady General
Chinese Drama - 2023, 23 episodes
A case of physically strong FL x mentally strong ML. He pretends to be weak and clearly enjoys it when the FL gets rough with him, but when pushed he will gladly take charge, especially in hidden underhanded ways.

5. Dong Lan Xue
Chinese Drama - 2023, 30 episodes
The FL is posing as the ML's servant, when in reality she is his mentor and superior in skill. This makes for a lot of interesting role-trading in their relationship, and it's hard to tell who calls the shots most of the time.

6. Lost Romance
Taiwanese Drama - 2020, 20 episodes
The FL has a strong, unique personality that catches the ML off-guard and puts him on the defensive even though he holds more social power over her (as her employer).
-
7. Crazy Love
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
Both of the leads are unhinged people and they take out that energy on each other more often than on others. Which makes for a highly entertaining viewing experience.

8. Crash Course in Romance
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
The more mature leads also demonstrate a more mature relationship dynamic between two strong, stubborn people. Their fights are so entertaining because neither will give in.
-
9. Legally Romance
Chinese Drama - 2022, 33 episodes
Actually I feel like a lot of rivals-to-lovers dramas have a decent switch dynamic between the leads. The two tropes go well together.
In this one the ML clearly loves it when the FL takes charge and even when she negs him (which she does happily and often). But the FL respects and likes the ML most when he gets overbearing and gives as good as he gets.

10. Moonlight
Chinese Drama - 2021, 36 episodes
On the surface it's a classic grumpy/sunshine with a tsundere ML and cheerful bubbly FL. But the FL's strong almost pushy energy combined with the ML being a huge simp ends up turning their dynamic into more of a switch vibe.

11. Love in the Moonlight
Korean Drama - 2016, 18 episodes
Kind of fits.
The ML is royalty while the FL is a mere servant. However the ML is so desperately down bad while the FL is oblivious/unmoved for a long time, so she ends up with a lot more power in the relationship.

12. My Love from the Star
Korean Drama - 2013, 21 episodes
Basically a rock meets a hard place here. Powerful, popular FL falls for a man to whom these things mean nothing.

13. Wonderland of Love
Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes
So much bickering, so much fighting, so much sexual tension XD
