• She's sarcastic, cheeky, greedy, shameless, alcoholic.
• She deliberately lets ML misunderstand her as a weak, lazy, incompetent, perfunctory, materialistic master who takes advantage of him for her own selfish gains and never takes his training seriously, while in fact is secretly trying her best to help him even at the expense of her health.
• She's one of the most powerful characters in the drama. She is very strong and smart, and can always predict ML's next moves/ is always one step ahead of him. ML, who's a genius with huge potential for power, can never pull a prank on her or outsmart her.
• She always smiles and appears drunk and uplifted/carefree/nonchalant/unbothered, but she's actually suffering from physical and emotional trauma.

Cheeky and witty ML.  I'm surprised I fell in love with this type of character. Probably it was because Xu Kai's acting was so convincing and charismatic, and doesn't turn the character into a cocky ML. Had this role been played by other actors, i would've dropped it since i don't think anyone could pull this off better than Xu Kai <3

Cheng is not a perfect character who has no flaws, but he's proactive and serious in his romantic pursuit, which is quite endearing. His kisses are steamy and his chemistry with the FL sizzling. The way he looks at FL is very alluring, which indicates he is gravitated towards FL and cares and yearns for her a lot.

Jeremy Tsui's characters always leave a profound impression on the audience. He excels at playing a pitiful but hopelessly romantic jerk that i can't help falling for. In this drama he's an annoying prick that gets on my nerves, yet i can't bring myself to hate him even if i try, and i wanna comfort him instead. His bittersweet story as well as organic acting was so convincing he got me misty-eyed despite being a mere support character.

(but i gotta admit, HFX is just too perfect that he doesn't exist irl :v)

Gao is my absolute favorite character in the entire show. His story resonates with me the most. He embodied the best antagonist in the most convincing fashion with profound emotional depth, whether it's inferiority, resentment, obsession, guilt, or rage. Those emotions are layered on top of his desire for reclaiming his dignity that he had to suppress because of ML, who heartlessly and unhesitantly trampled upon it time and time again without a hint of consideration for Gao's feelings, much less guilt or remorse. I can see why he holds such deep-rooted grudge. Regardless, he secretly yearns for validation from ML, which is the root cause for his fixation on upstaging and one-upping his frenemy.

Anyhow, it's very gratifying to see his vengeance on ML in prison (ep23) (tbh the only one who can stand ML's arrogance and cold-bloodedness is FL). Every line he drops packs a punch, especially when coupled with his dark and ominous micro-expressions. Superb acting!
