fake dating / marriage, etc.
fake dating, fake marriage, contract relationships, that kind of thing. in order to make my life easier this time, i'm just gonna add ones i've actually at least partially seen lol.
-
1. Her Private Life
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
fake dating. they pretend to date due to a scandal involving an idol (not the ml). ml pretends to date her to help her with the angry fanbase of said idol lol. loved this one, but still haven't seen the last episode (sigh. i don't know why i'm like this)
-
2. 2gether
Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
fake dating, kind of. there's a guy who likes mc and is pursuing him pretty strongly. mc is straight (or so he thought... oh how the tables turn...) so he eventually enlists ml's help to pretend to date him in an effort to get the guy to leave mc alone (it's more like flirt/pursue than date, i guess, but i'm still counting this as fake dating). not sure if my explanation made sense lol but this is a very cute show.

3. A Romance of the Little Forest
Chinese Drama - 2022, 35 episodes
fake dating. fl gets ml to pretend to be her bf in front of her family. i actually did enjoy this one lol. the side couple situation was indeed weird, yes, but i still liked the show overall
-
4. Bride for Rent
Filipino Movie - 2014
fake marriage. contract, i think? don't completely remember. this was okay.
-
5. Love to Hate You
Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
fake dating. they pretend to date due to a scandal (ml is a famous actor). very funny and cute. i liked this one a lot.
-
6. Perfect and Casual
Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
fake dating --> contract marriage. ml gets fl to pretend to be in a relationship with him so he can make his grandpa, who is sick in the hospital, happy. this was very cute.
-
7. My Demon
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
contract marriage? i haven't finished this one yet, but i'm pretty sure that's where it's leading.
-
8. Once We Get Married
Chinese Drama - 2021, 24 episodes
contract marriage. i was enjoying this one, but didn't finish it for some reason. one day lol
-
9. Love in Contract
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
contract marriage. it's literally her job ! i didn't finish this one.
-
10. Business Proposal
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
fake (contract) dating. they pretend to date so ml can get his grandpa off his back (he keeps setting him up on blind dates, etc.). i was really into this drama, it's a very fun romcom !
-
11. Well-Intended Love
Chinese Drama - 2019, 20 episodes
contract marriage. fl is diagnosed with leukemia and ml is the only compatible donor. he agrees to help her if she marries him. wasn't great imo, but weirdly bingeable. definitely pretty ~problematic~ so fair warning if you don't like that kind of thing. if you want something that has every cliché in the book, here you go.
-
12. Well-Intended Love Season 2
Chinese Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
contract relationship (engaged). not a continuation of s1. this is a different story with the same characters set in an alternate reality. fl is an actress and ml is a well known figure... boss... man... guy... idk. they get caught on camera looking like they are... ~close~ and in order to get her out of hot water ml springs a fake engagement on her.
-
13. I Hear You
Chinese Drama - 2019, 24 episodes
fake (contract) dating. they enter a reality show as a couple, so they have to pretend to be one. it was cute. your average romcom.
-
14. Your Sky
Thai Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
