Melo-drama much?
I had to watch a melodrama+ romance drama for the 2021 watch challenge, as it was my least viewed genre (and for a reason) and honestly everything went downwards fr om there (haha). Well, in introspect I am someone who avoids sadness in big quantity (I love it if it's for dramatic effect) and the slow rhythm of most melodramas does not suit me, so I'll probably keep this short and will be somewhat negatively prejudiced for most of the dramas here.

1. The Hymn of Death
Korean Drama - 2018, 6 episodes
Music, based on historical figures miniseries... Unexpectedly a high rating because it was short and I could apparently handle that much melodrama.

2. Twenty-Five Twenty-One
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
90's nostalgia and comedy , with an optimistic tone turned into another drama last episodes. If this is a drama to show us how dreams eventually turn into not-so-dreamy reality, it should have come with a warning. Plus I loved the ''future'' scenes and I found it a pity they led nowhere.

3. Move to Heaven
Korean Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
family melodrama, with autistic lead and kind of delinquent lead and independent cases. not recommended for people with acute sarcasm and those who do not like mushy. I liked it all in all due to the leads and independent stories that make it less tiring, but I could not help but question the way scum people conveniently grew a conscience and the deliberate way they tried to stir viewers' emotions.

4. Melancholia
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
Maths and student-teacher grey relationship and privileged students' storyline. Of all the above it was the maths and the main actor and actress that kept me going, I think it could be better in most aspects and the romance was either redundant or sloppily done, as it was hinted at for most of the time only to suddenly develop (?) last minute.

5. The Light in Your Eyes
Korean Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
I can understand the positive reviews, but honestly I was too bored most of the time to enjoy the ''surprise'' at the end. Also, I kind of agree with a reviewer that said this drama can be misleading for people who expect sth else.
