My Fav BLs
I've only started watching BLs in December 2020 so for now it's tiny, but hopefully it will grow :)
(these are only the ones that I really enjoyed and not everything I've watched, the first one is my all time fav and it goes down from there)
(Spoiler alert: All of these have happy endings because I hate sad endings, my life already sucks thank you very much- some of them are sad though they just end well)

1. I Told Sunset about You
Thai Drama - 2020, 5 episodes
This show is just beautiful, from the story to the photography to the acting, it feels like everything was thought about into the tiniest detail. Literally one of the best pieces of media I've ever watched.
Sad as hell though so yeah, tissues!

2. 30-sai made Dotei Da to Mahotsukai ni Nareru rashii
Japanese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
Wholesome! It's adorable, it's fun, has a weird concept but it's pretty innocent. Good characters, with good development, there was not a single character that I didn't love! Makes you feel nice and fuzzy, and you'll learn a lot about self love! (well, at least I did haha)

3. A Tale of Thousand Stars
Thai Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
I didn't expect to love this show so much, it's so sweet and the longing oof. I love the characters so much and also the journey of self discovery and becoming a better person *chef's kiss*. I watched this one live, and let me tell you waiting for a new ep every week was torture sometimes haha but totally worth it!

4. His
Japanese Movie - 2020
No words to describe how much I loved this movie! It's emotional as hell but such a good plot, it's one of those stories that feels like it could be real, and the actor choice really helped make it even more believable. No words for how good the child is as an actress, there wasn't a moment when I didn't believe she was Sora. Anyway the story will get frustrating at times, because of the whole situation they're in, but it's so realistic and well done! Get some tissues though!
(This movie is a sequel to a show on this list (His- I didn't think I would fall in love) I don't think you need to watch the show to understand it though. Also I do warn you that it's almost impossible to find both the movie and the show with good quality)

5. Restart after Come back Home
Japanese Movie - 2020
Another movie, and it was so goood. There's something about rural Japan and gays that I just love apparently. The story is simple but really well done! I love Yamato so much, kind of wish he would get a therapist but I understand he lives in the middle of nowhere and doesn't have a lot of free time. I just think he would really benefit from it....but who wouldn't, am i right?

6. Until We Meet Again
Thai Drama - 2019, 17 episodes
(tw: suicide)
Sad but good! First time I tried watching this I was put off by the first scene, I had to stop and only came back to it a few weeks later when I felt more ready. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did! It has a good story and non-toxic relationships (which was my fear at first) and the friendships are amazing. Did they handle well certain aspects of the suicide? No, at least not in my opinion, but I could also tell they were trying to be careful about it so I'm not too mad about it. But yeah, watch it with caution if suicide is a sensitive topic for you!

7. Kieta Hatsukoi
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
-
8. Bad Buddy
Thai Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
-
9. Kinou Nani Tabeta?
Japanese Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
-
10. His - Koisuru Tsumori Nante Nakatta
Japanese Drama - 2019, 5 episodes
This is the prequel to the movie "His" that was above on the list. I really enjoyed the way they explored the characters feelings in this show, not limiting themselves by just showing us the two main boys but also the influence they had on those around them. I really like when stories feel realistic and this really hit the mark. So yeah, if that's your kind of thing, you'll enjoy this one!

11. Ingredients
Thai Special - 2020, 21 episodes
Wholesome! I loved this BL so much, I wasn't expecting such a good show tbh. I'm glad I didn't watch it when it was coming out though, because the episodes are tiny. It's simple, not too much drama, some might think it's too simple since tbh not a lot happens, but I think sometimes it's nice to just watch boys being happy to be around each other, call me a hopeless romantic.

12. We Best Love: No. 1 For You
Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
I have some mixed feelings about this show because of what I've heard about the sequel. BUT I really enjoyed this first one, the characters put me off at times especially more towards the beginning but once they started growing on me, I really enjoyed it. Also the development they had was really good so that's also a plus!

13. Boys' Lockdown
Filipino Drama - 2020, 6 episodes
So sweet! Pity it's so short, the main couple is absolutely adorable and leaves you wanting to see more of them together. This is one of those short Philippine quarantine webseries. I don't know what happened there, did people just get so bored during lockdown that they've collectively decided to make a bunch of BL shows about it? Either way I'm not complaining this was adorable!

14. To My Star
Korean Drama - 2021, 9 episodes
Short but so good! A little confusing at times, but maybe that was just because I was really tired while watching it, the ending makes up for it though!
-
15. Hello Stranger
Filipino Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
So soft! The Philippines really are onto something with all these quarantine stories, this is one of them and one of my favorites. The story is simple but adorable and the characters are all so loveable especially Mico's group of friends, it's one of my favourite groups from any BL's so far! So much support, attention and care towards each other. Really sweet show, and it's getting a movie!

16. He's Coming to Me
Thai Drama - 2019, 8 episodes
(tw: death- but he comes back, kind of haha)
Cute! Again the concept was a bit weird to me but once I watched it I wasn't mad about it. It was adorable and well-done, and even though it deals with death it was pretty light and fun to watch, (minor spoiler)
the only part that put me off a little was the whole situation of how he died and how it was addressed, i thought it seemed a bit forced and it ended up being a little confusing if not badly done(end of spoiler). Overall, it was a good show. -
17. Wish You: Your Melody From My Heart
Korean Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
Very short as most korean BLs are, but it was sweet. Simple story because again it doesn't have many episodes but what was done was good, the photography is beautiful and the soundtrack is really nice!
-
18. Step for You
Korean Movie - 2018
I don't know what is up with me with dance related BLs but I've been loving them lately. Maybe I'm missing my 3rd grade ballet lessons who knows. Anyway, I really love this short film! It's really simple and adorable, honestly there's not a lot to say about it because it's so teeny tiny, but it was really worth the 20 minutes it takes to watch it! Also the dancing is beautiful in this one! So yeah, if you're curious just watch it, because it won't be time wasted!

19. Why R U?
Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
Chaotic, but fun. There is stuff I don't love about it, but I adore Saifah and Zon, they're the only reason this BL is in this list. I don't have much to say about it besides that it was a fun watch, like most BLs to me it felt like it was made to sell and not to be great, you know? But again Saifah and Zon are a treat. It's also one of the first BLs I watched that had kisses that actually felt "real", so yeah, that also helped.

20. Location
Thai Movie - 2020
This one is a movie, but it's really sweet. The story is pretty simple but cute. It's a good thing to watch if you don't want to commit to a whole show but want to watch something nice and warm.
