Dramas I've watched in 2023
-
1. Imawa no Kuni no Alice Season 2
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Hands down best sequel ever made in history. All that wait was SOOOOOO worth it. Season 2 was even better than the first one and I had no clue that's something achievable because the bar was HIGH. Last episode effed up with my brain so bad and with that, I started doubting everything that was presented to me, once again. I kind of wish we would get a season 3 but at the same time I love how everything wrapped up perfectly. Wish I could've seen more Chishiya and Kuina scenes though :(

2. Island
Korean Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
I liked the plot a lot but the pacing kind of ruined it for me here and there bcs there were too many things, storylines and subplots, happening at the same time. I would've loved to see more of chanhyuk & chanhee's story as well as van & guntan's. The cgi was pretty good overall, I LOVEEEEDDDD the fight scene between yohan and van so much!!!

3. Bulgasal: Immortal Souls
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
-
4. The Glory
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Binged-watched the whole series in a day, that's how obsessed i was with it. A masterpiece from start to finish. The acting performance was SUPERB, especially Song Hyekyo, but also the actress who plays Yeonjin. The actresses who portrayed their younger selves did such a great job too!!! The symbolisms in this drama are insane, honestly and the flower talk reminded me of 'Little Women'. Can't wait to see how de story wraps up. Hopefully we'll be able to see more of Dohyun's character and his story in part 2

5. The Heavenly Idol
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
dropped it after 4 episodes. i really tried for mingyu. i really did.
-
6. Love to Hate You
Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
A really fun watch. The story itself was pretty simple but the actors portrayed their respective characters so well which made the story more engaging, especially Jihoon and Teo. Their bromance was everything to me!!! I dont have much to say about it. It's afun drama to binge if you're free.

7. Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area - Part 2
Korean Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
Took me a while to finally start the second part, I even had to rewatch the first one cause I forgot some of the things that happened, but man....it was so worth it. I liked the second part so much more than the first one. I loved how it added its own pizazz to the original storyline which made it distinctive. I need part 3 (season 2) ASAP!!!

8. The Glory Part 2
Korean Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
best!drama!of!2022/23!
-
9. Revenge of Others
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
It took me 6 months, since this drama first aired, to finish it because I started so many shows at the time and I got burnt out but I finally did it!!! I have so much love for this drama and its cast, really love it when young actors put their actorussies into it!! The main 4 characters (Osung, Chanmi, Sooheon and Jaebum) stole the show imo, they were fantastic. I loved the ending even though I cried my eyes out bcs most people got their deserved closure.
-
10. The Good Bad Mother
Korean Drama - 2023, 14 episodes
-
11. Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
-
12. See You in My 19th Life
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
can't even express through words how much comfort this drama has brought to me, even though it was on the more angsty romcom side. i was waiting every weekend for the episodes to be uploaded so eagerly and now that it ended i feel a void :( i loved everything about it, from the storyline to the characters to the acting to the ending. everything about it was perfect and fell into place magically.
i was so happy to see my beloved sobong and court lady choi working together in the same drama again, after mr. queen. hopefully we will get bohyun and hyesun, hyesun and yoonkyung, yoonkyung and donggoo, donggoo and bohyun reunions as well because i loved them SO MUCH.

13. King the Land
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
dropped :) i really tried but i couldnt finish it. it felt like i was wasting my time

14. Revenant
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
-
15. Celebrity
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
biggest slayage in history after the glory. i love how kdramas have been keeeping the lights on at neflix’ hqs for the past few years and they’re extremely iconic doing that. i adored everything about celebrity from start to finish, never getting bored while watching it — that’s how thrilling the story was, with the right amount of plot twists. i love how they didnt try to make sihyeon the villain in ari's story and she was her ally all along.
personally, i’m one of those people who are fine without a sequel (for the first time ever), since i believe the story ended perfectly. but with that kind of mysterious ending, and junho’s cameo, i’ll tune in if they ever decide to make a second part. my girl gyu did such an amazing job im extremely proud of her. gyuyoung, minhyuk and chungah CARRIED this drama

16. Hidden Love
Chinese Drama - 2023, 25 episodes
-
17. The Uncanny Counter Season 2: Counter Punch
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
The lack of Munhana (especially endgame) was extremely painful for me to witness but, aside that, this season exceeded my expectations tbh. As someone who had waited ever since the first season ended, I was not disappointed and I actually enjoyed season 2 a tiny bit more than season 1, even though the storylines of the first season were more interesting in my opinion. I need a 3rd season asap and based on how they ended season 2 I feel like it's possible that we might get it???? Anyways, I already miss my counters.

18. My Lovely Liar
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
-
19. Zombieverse
Korean TV Show - 2023, 8 episodes
I do not care how much MDL hates this show, I liked it and I've watched it in two sittings. The combination of reality tv x kdrama x videogame kind of threw me off a bit as it was a new concept to me but it was very fun in my opinion. I'm giving it a 8/10 because even though I did laugh a lot when they broke character, sometimes it did feel out of place. Siyeong, Jinyoung and DinDin CARRIED the show I'm ngl but I liked the entire cast and their dynamics even though, apparently, some people seem to find them annoying.
Cried my eyes out at the end. Jinyoung is literally the best boy ever, the way he always sacrificied himself to help others was soooo heartwarming to witness.

23. The Killing Vote
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
-
24. One Piece
Japanese Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
i’ve finished watching this a while ago but i let my commentary on it marinate for a bit to gather my thoughts. as someone who hasn’t watched the anime nor read the manga, i still loved the live action A LOT. it was so fun to watch, even if you weren’t well versed in the one piece universe, and honestly, it was such a great introduction to everyone who wants to watch the anime/read the manga. the production was *chef's kiss* you can tell the production team was from the US, cause the visual effects were on point (except that scene with zoro’s swords. we don’t talk abt that). i can’t wait for season 2, can’t wait to see my strawhats again and hopefully more of zoro x sanji.
