Favourite Shows So Far...
Hello! I'm fairly new to K-Dramas and I'm learning Korean right now. If you have any suggestions of dramas that you think I'd like please let me know. Thank you.
These are in no particular order :)
***I know the list is short, but I will keep updating it!

1. Goblin
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
I just love this drama. The story is gorgeous, the people are gorgeous and the sets are gorgeous. I can easily tell why it's so popular.
I could watch a whole show about Goblin and Grim Reaper as roomies. Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook with the added cuteness of Yook Sung Jae? Sign me up!
I know some people are thrown off by the age difference, but there is a time jump and he doesn't do anything inappropriate with her and they acknowledge their age difference.
This is another rewatchable drama I'll be using to help me learn Korean.

2. Flower of Evil
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
Lee Joon Gi is a marvel in this. He is one of my favourites. Moon Chae Won was also amazing and together they made this incredibly captivating/thrilling/scary story come to life.
I kept wanting to sleep, but then I'd push the "watch the next episode button". We've all been there.

3. Crash Landing on You
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
This show was my first K-Drama and WOW did it start my love for them. I'll admit, I had to start the first episode 2-3 times, but once I got through it I was sucked in and binged the rest. I've rewatched this with my mother and now she's excited to watch K-Dramas with me, especially since her mother was born in Seoul and she's so excited to learn about her/our culture through my journey.
It was so much fun crying and laughing with these characters. This is a definite much watch forme and very rewatchable. I'll definitely be rewatching it again for fun/to study as I continue learning Korean.

4. My Mister
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
I don't really have words to describe the emotions this drama pulled out of me.
IU's best performance in my opinion and the soundtrack was amazing. Every actor, every director, writer, producer, production designer, production team member...every person who worked hard to put this drama on...thank you.
This drama is a masterpiece.

5. Healer
Korean Drama - 2014, 20 episodes
THIS DRAMA WAS AMAZING.
Talk about chemistry. It also led me to Ji Chang Wook and I adore him.
-
6. Hotel del Luna
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
The acting, the set, the costumes, the guest stars...pure perfection.
That last cameo had me going, "EEEEK!!!"

7. The Uncanny Counter
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
This drama was so much fun to watch and I fell in love with all of the characters.
I cannot wait for season 2!
-
8. Move to Heaven
Korean Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
I cried, you'll cry. It's beautiful.
-
9. While You Were Sleeping
Korean Drama - 2017, 32 episodes
You can't go wrong putting Suzy and Lee Jong Suk together.
Lee Sang Yeop is also so handsome and I can't wait to watch him in more dramas.
-
10. Mr. Queen
Korean Drama - 2020, 20 episodes
Shin Hae Sun has quickly become one of, if not my favourite actresses. Her portrayal in this show is nothing short of amazing. Every facial expression and movement was done so well and I wish she'd won more awards for this, but I know she's going to continue to amaze me for manyyears to come.
The story was great and it managed to have a pretty good ending! The costume design and sets were gorgeous.
I loved the cast and I loved the love story and it's one of the best love to hate couples I've watched. Kim Jung Hyn definitely caught my eye in CLOY and proved his acting chops to me here. I hope his career continues to get better and better!

11. True Beauty
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
This was such a cute drama and I liked the message that it was portraying about outside beauty, while not taking itself TOO seriously.
I'm still reading the Webtoon and I think the show is better.
I do wish Han Seo Jun got a better ending...he deserves the world!!
-
12. The Legend of the Blue Sea
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
-
13. Hospital Playlist
Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
I love this show so much that I'm finding myself taking my time to watch it. I haven't even finished the first season and I know there's a second, but it just feels like I'm watching my friends and I want to spend as much time with them as I can. I love them.
-
14. The Beauty Inside
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
I lovedddd this! The meaning and what she does with the faces she given had me in tears at moments.
-
15. It's Okay to Not Be Okay
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
-
16. My Love from the Star
Korean Drama - 2013, 21 episodes
One of the first dramas I watched and it was just so much fun. I'll definitely be rewatching to study Korean and to see the amazing chemistry between Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun.
-
17. Descendants of the Sun
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Can we pretend the last...2 episodes didn't happen? Then this would've been a perfect drama for me.
It's still amazing and the locations were absolutely gorgeous.
-
18. Suspicious Partner
Korean Drama - 2017, 40 episodes
-
19. Angel's Last Mission: Love
Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes
Shin Hae Sun's beautiful acting and Kim Myung Soo's sweetness (AND DIMPLES) made me fall in love with them.
-
20. What's Wrong with Secretary Kim
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
-
21. Run On
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
This was such a simple character piece and I liked it so much. This is one of the dramas where the second couple was just as/maybe more interesting the the main!
-
22. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
Cute and fun, but definitely lost some points for me with the unnecessary over the top comedy and the offensive portrayal of a gay man.
The main couple was very sweet and I love when the man is head over heels for the woman.
-
23. W
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
This drama lost me a bit in the second half, but the first half was unlike anything I'd seen before in a K-Drama and I enjoyed it SO much! I definitely still recommend it.
-
24. Extraordinary You
Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes
So much fun and so many tall, good looking men.
I'm reading the Webtoon and it's definitely very different. If you aren't into horror I wouldn't suggest it.
-
25. At a Distance, Spring Is Green
Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
The main actor, Park Ji Hoon, did a phenomenal job for it being one of his first dramas and as the main lead. He is also adorable and I won't lie, his visual pulled me in at the beginning. His eyes portrayed such sadness so well.
Bae In Hyuk was amazing, as usual.
It's a simple, yet moving story about how not to judge a book by its cover and about growing up.
-
26. Oh My Venus
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
Just so cute and with such a great male love interest.
-
27. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
-
28. Uncontrollably Fond
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
Uncontrollably sad...haha.
On a personal note, I'm so glad Kim Woo Bin is doing well and can't wait to support him in his upcoming dramas.
