Favorite K-Dramas

1. Weak Hero Class 1
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
My absolute favorite show, I read the webtoon and I love what the show did with the backstory and giving the characters more depth. Though I would recommend watching the first season first and then reading the webtoon, because eventhough they changed a lot, the general plot of the backstory stays the same and knowing where the first season goes would probably take a lot of the emotion from watching it. The characters are amazing and the cinematography and pacing are stand out.

2. Hellbound
Korean Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
This one is not for the faint of heart, it‘s absolutely disturbing and terrifying how realistically human behavior is portrayed. This show is not supposed to be entertainment and I think a lot of people started it expecting it to be, which probably led to the number of negative reviews. This is a social commentary at it’s finest.

3. It's Okay to Not Be Okay
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
This Drama managed to make me cry every single episode and it beautifully depicts the different aspects of mental health and trauma.

4. The Worst of Evil
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
-
5. Beyond Evil
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
-
6. Sweet Home
Korean Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
I actually have no clue why this is so high on my favorites. I‘ve watched better shows, shows that are still ranked lower on this list and I don’t know why, but this one took my heart.

7. The Eighth Sense
Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
Beautiful cinematography and thought through characters. I just absolutely love this one.

8. Link: Eat, Love, Kill
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
This was just a pure comfort show for me, it had me laughing, smiling and crying from sadness and happiness. I really love this one, even though objectively it’s definitely not perfect

11. The Atypical Family

-
13. Duty after School: Part 1
Korean Drama - 2023, 6 episodes
-
14. Duty after School: Part 2
Korean Drama - 2023, 4 episodes
The ending received a lot of negative reviews, though I have to say, that personally I thought the ending was perfect and exactly what the show needed to portray the message they‘ve been trying to convey since the first episode of part 1. The only problem I have is with episodes 7-9, I did not like the direction they took there, but the last episode saved part 2 for me. This is the reason I couldn’t give it 10 stars but it is still in my favorites

15. Moving
Korean Drama - 2023, 20 episodes
-
16. Extraordinary Attorney Woo
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
This drama manages to be lighthearted, cute and deep at the same time. I often prefer darker dramas over the cute and lighthearted ones, but this one managed to still have a deep meaning through all the fluff.
-
17. Black Knight
Korean Drama - 2023, 6 episodes
Though this drama didn’t have any perceptible deeper meaning or memorable storyline, it was a really fun watch. This drama accomplished what a lot of sci-fi movies over the last years didn’t accomplished.

19. Revenge of Others
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
