C-Dramas Like C-Novels

After I got past the ages of the actors I was able to get into it more. It bothered me only because they are supposed to be young and this is my first time watching an Asian drama with such a disparity between the actor's ages and their characters. That and it was so noticeable lol

ML was a bit ehh for me. I love when I can crush on the ML but I wasn't able to here BUT the story was able to make up for what I felt the ML lacked, by being so entertaining. The couple's chemistry was not that good in my opinion. But this drama definitely gave me what I was looking for. Not majorly palace intrigue which is good because it's not fun to watch women stuck in the palace fighting all the time. 

Official houses and family drama. Breaking free of the constraints placed on them because of who they were born to. Managing the household and faceslapping audacious servants. Faceslapping gossipy ladies and officials. 

The budget was obviously there. The sets were amazing. 

The ending was a little irritating to me, or more accurately how it was resolved. Still a very enjoyable drama with a FL you can root for throughout the whole story.

Story/Writing: 8/10 

Romance: 6.5/10

Like a Chinese Novel: 10/10
