They fall for each other around the same time but circumstances lead the FL to distance herself from the ML and suppress her feelings, while the ML stays true to his feelings from the beginning.

They both start to develop deeper feelings around the same time, but I'd say the ML falls first (without even realizing it) and was also the first to have a small spark of interest / notice her when they technically first met.

But he thinks the queen fell first, for legitimate reasons

He falls for the FL after mistakenly thinking that she fell for him first

They fall at the same time but the ML is the one who changes drastically first and also the one who does just about all of the pursuing.
