During the time I watched this drama I thought it was a cute, lighthearted drama but I’ve seen newer dramas afterwards which are much better in my opinion. I know the main couple did not break up and they communicated well enough. And both the FL and ML did not like anybody else aside from each other. There was a SML that a few people find annoying. While I wouldn’t give this a rave review,  this is not one of the worst out there either.

There were situations leading the FL into having to lie to the ML to save herself at that time, by pretending to be pregnant with his child and it escalated into her having agreed to marry him. But in episode 8, the FL confessed her lie through a letter and her reasons for lying, then she ran away before their wedding. ML already had feelings for her, so he followed her and convinced her to go through with their wedding. He actually sort of blackmailed her because she refused to go back and the ML had too much pride to admit his feelings for her at first.  But it’s so obvious he liked her, and he ended up being a liar to his powerful family as well to cover for her and protect her. But in the end, she ended up being pregnant for real. The main couple’s relationship was just so cute and sweet. This is one of my favorite Cdramas and for a historical drama, this is a fluffy, easy watch. Even the villains cannot be taken too seriously. Schemers never succeeded, and only got their karma. Their wedding in episode 9 was very nice and grand, their whole journey as a couple was never boring that you wouldn’t want to skip through, and their ending was not abrupt at all, plus it was a very happy ending indeed.

Doctor ML;  Lawyer FL; Childhood Friends; Non- Toxic SFL and SML; Approving parents/families. This is a cute fluffy show with a very nice ending. Main leads have great chemistry together, the ML is very affectionate and flirty with the FL and can hardly keep his hands off her most of the time. 

No break up after they became a couple officially. 

SPOILER ALERT….

It’s a slice of life historical period drama which started from the time the FL was a young girl whose mother was an unfavored concubine of a lord from a noble family. It portrayed her as a smart and strong FL while she dealt with internal power struggles and came out the winner against her opponents. She grew up, ended up marrying the ML who pursued her because he fell in love with her and wanted her as his wife, even getting rid of his love rival in a cunning way. If you like pure, virginal MLs, he won’t be your cup of tea because he was older than the FL, probably in his thirties while the FL was a very young woman. He also had a concubine and 2 children although he never married her and drove her out of his house upon discovering her corrupt deeds especially in stealing some of his family assets. That happened way before he pursued the FL and before he got promoted to a higher noble title after serving as a general in the imperial army and winning several battles. But both the FL and ML were in harmony throughout their marriage and were quite a power couple here. The ML also never took another concubine despite pressures from his family. The FL was very cunning and had complete control of their household. There were scheming relatives especially from the ML’s side but with her husband’s full, unconditional support, she managed to overcome their evil plans and intent to cause rifts in the couple’s marriage. The couple were solid, she gave birth to their child, and they had a happy ending.

Older woman/Younger Man; Cute Rich Heir ML; Smart and Pretty FL; Office Romance. ML already showing he liked the FL earlier on so it’s a case of ML chasing FL first. Great chemistry between the main leads; the annoying parts—— ML’s clingy childhood friend, FL has a crush/ first love whom she still has interactions with in the present. ML is smooth and knows exactly how to pursue the FL or make her aware of him. Episode 12= ML confessed to FL and was rejected but ML still continued pursuing the FL. His persistence paid off because he finally got the FL in episode 19. ML is a fast worker, though, because he was able to sleep with the FL on that same day they became a couple officially.  In Episode 20, another female character comes in but don’t worry, she’s not an ex-girlfriend like everyone assumed. He just pretended to be her boyfriend in the past to stop someone harassing her and in exchange she helped him with his economics homework for a semester. No break up, happy ending.
