Kim Jin Won is a South Korean musician and member of YB (formerly known as Yoon Do Hyun Band, 윤도현밴드). He graduated from Sokcho High School. Yoon Do Hyun had debuted as a soloist in 1994 and decided to form a band a few years later. He invited him to join as the drummer and debuted in 1996 with their studio album, "Yoon Do-hyun 2".
They nearly disbanded in 2000 after an initial lack of success but they experienced a surge in popularity after composing the cheer song for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. They became the first band to perform in North Korea in 2002, the first South Korean band to perform at the "South by Southwest" (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas in 2007, and to tour Europe in 2008.
