In 2013, the media exposed that Takasugi had bilked 50 million yen from his fans. He used the influence of his role to cheat his fans and refused to return them all the money. Even as he was sued, he refused to appear in court. Due to his dishonesty and currently being missing since January 2017, despite Super-1 going on to make later minor appearances, including in recent crossover movies, Takasugi is unable to reprise his role ever again.
