Okano's interest in television dramas began in sixth grade after watching "Ie Naki Ko," which inspired her to join a theater club. Although she initially received a job offer from a securities company, she decided to pursue her passion for television production and joined Telepack in 2004 after recognizing its name from the credits of "Shumatsu Kon."
At Telepack, Okano started as an assistant director but soon transitioned to an assistant producer role, where she could propose and pitch her own projects by the age of 24. In 2008, her proposal for "Sweet 10: Saigo no Koibito" was accepted, marking her debut as a producer at 25.
In May 2009, she joined WOWOW as a producer.
