Zushi Tonbo is a Japanese actor and comedian. He graduated from Nihon University's College of Art and initially worked as an understudy in various traveling theater troupes, including the Shinpa regional tour group and the Shimizu Kinichi troupe. In 1955, after struggling to achieve a breakthrough, he joined the Toriro Group led by Mikitake Toriro, who gave him his stage name.

By 1963, Zushi was affiliated with Nakagawa Productions. Alongside his acting career, he founded the "Zushi Tonbo Theater Company," aiming to stage one performance per year, using the income he earned throughout the year to fund these productions. As of 1989, he was also working part-time at a ramen shop in Takadanobaba, Tokyo, to support his theater company's activities.
