- Nationality: South Korean

He was born in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. He had the opportunity to travel to São Paulo, Brazil, and trained to become a professional athlete for two years. He was a squad of ''Sports Club Corinthians Paulista Junior Team'' and was selected for the Brazil national under-17 football team. He moved back to South Korea to pursue his dream of becoming a singer and was a YG Entertainment trainee. He used to live in the Philippines and Los Angeles, California, United States.
He was a member of M.O.L.A, a project formed in 2015, together with Ji Min from 15&, Kyo Chang (Nathan), Hyung Gu (Kino) from Pentagon, and Han Sol (Vernon) from SEVENTEEN. He was promoted as a solo rapper under the name Luizy in 2016. He made his solo debut on July 29, 2016, with the single "Recipe" with Flowsik. He then released his next single, "Baby Ride", which features Hyun Sik from BtoB. He then collaborated with Hyun Sik for the single, "Eating Alone". He was also featured in "Dream", a song in Gi Kwang's "ONE" extended play.
In 2018, Yuehua Entertainment relayed that Seung Youn would promote with the name WOODZ during his solo activities. He composed "It's Okay", a song for the Chinese reality television show Idol Producer. He co-composed a song for MR-X, a Chinese project group of Idol Producer former trainee. After training for nine years, he made his appearance as a contestant on the boy group survival reality show Produce X 101. Due to a vote manipulation controversy, the group ultimately disbanded on January 6th, 2020. On June 29th, 2020, he made his solo comeback as Woodz with his first mini-album titled "Equal" with the title track "파랗게 (Love Me Harder)".
He departed from Yuehua Entertainment after his exclusive contract expired at the end of October 2022.
On October 25, EDAM Entertainment announced that WOODZ had joined IU and Shin Se Kyung as the third star in the agency and the first male artist.
He enlisted on January 22, 2024.
