- Native name: 조승연
- Also Known as: Jo Seung Yun, Cho Seung Yun, Cao Cheng Yan, Luizinho Cho, Seungyoun, WOODZ, Cho Seung Youn, Luizy, Evan Cho, 曹承衍
- Nationality: South Korean
- Gender: Male
- Born: August 5, 1996
- Age: 28
In early 2014, YG Entertainment began a project to launch a new boy group composed of trainees who had been learning between 2-5 years. They brought Yuehua Entertainment (위에화엔터테인먼트) to co-manage the group, but in the end, Yuehua kept full control of it.
He made his debut in October 2014 as UNIQ's main rapper and vocalist with their single, "Falling in Love", released in both Mandarin and Korean. The group also provided the OSTs for the Chinese version of the movies "TMNT" and "Penguins of Madagascar".
In 2015, he joined the project group M.O.L.A (short for Make Our Lives Awesome) alongside Jamie, Nathan (producer), PENTAGON's Kino, HoHo, and SEVENTEEN's Vernon. They join when their schedules allow and release music as a group of friends.
He made his debut as a solo artist in July 2016 (using the stage name Luizy) with the single "Recipe". He switched to his current stage name in 2018 and composed songs for a few Chinese project groups.
After releasing two singles in April 2018, UNIQ went on an indefinite hiatus, and while they have never disbanded, they have not released any new material since then.
He then appeared in the survival show "Produce X 101", where he finished in 5th place and secured a spot in the show's project group. He re-debuted in August 2019 as X1's main vocalist and lead rapper with their first mini-album, "Emergency: Quantum Leap" under Swing Entertainment (스윙 엔터테인먼트). Initially, the group had a 5-year contract. However, the vote manipulation scandal at MNet led to an investigation. They were forced to halt their activities, and after an unsuccessful negotiation about their future with Swing Entertainment and the members' individual agencies, they disbanded in January 2020.
He left Yuehua Entertainment in October 2022 and a few weeks later signed with Edam Entertainment (이담엔터테인먼트).
He enlisted for his mandatory military service on January 22, 2024, and was discharged on July 21, 2025.
