Hansol Vernon Chwe, known simply as Vernon, is a South Korean-American singer, dancer, producer, and member of SEVENTEEN (세븐틴) and M.O.L.A. He was born in New York and has dual citizenship, thanks to his parents. He dropped out of middle school and was home-schooled. His last name is actually a spelling error, as his mother wrote it down incorrectly (it should have been Choi) on his birth certificate.

He moved back to South Korea at the age of 5 and became a trainee under Pledis Entertainment (플레디스 엔터테인먼트) in 2012 after being scouted on the street. He appeared frequently on "Seventeen TV", a reality series documenting the process of being a trainee and getting ready to debut as an idol.

He made his debut in May 2015 as the group's rapper, sub-vocalist, visual and face of the group with their first mini-album, "17 Carat". The group is managed by Pledis but is self-produced, as all members are involved in songwriting, production, composing and choreographing. They have gained a large fanbase both domestically and internationally due to their signature music and elaborate performances and choreographies.

In 2015, he joined the project group M.O.L.A (short for Make Our Lives Awesome) alongside Jamie, Nathan (producer), PENTAGON's Kino, HoHo, and Woodz. They join when their schedules allow and release music as a group of friends.

He is part of the sub-unit HIP-HOP TEAM (세븐틴 힙합팀) alongside S.Coups, Wonwoo and Mingyu. They have not officially debuted, but rather, they record tracks as unit songs for group albums and mixtapes.

In December 2022, he made his debut as a solo artist with the mixtape, "Black Eye" and has also written and produced several singles for other artists such as Jamie or Bumzu.
