Sae Rom Lee

Lee Sae Rom

  • Name: Lee Sae Rom
  • Native name: 이새롬
  • Also Known as: 새롬, Lee Saerom
  • Nationality: South Korean
  • Gender: Female
  • Born: January 7, 1997
  • Age: 27
Lee Sae Rom, known simply as Saerom, is a South Korean singer, dancer and member of FROMIS_9. She graduated from Hanlim Entertainment Arts High School and later attended the Broadcasting Entertainment program at Dongduk Women's University but is currently on a leave of absence.

Before debuting, she was a trainee for 4 years and 7 months, including time at Nextar Entertainment, where she was supposed to debut in a drama in 2013, but the plan fell through. She then participated in "Dancing 9 Season 2" in 2014 but was eliminated in the auditions. In 2017, she entered in the singing survival show, "Idol School" where she ranked in 3rd place and earned a spot in the final group.

She officially debuted in 2018 as FROMIS_9's leader, lead dancer, vocalist, rapper and visual with their 1st EP, "To. Heart", which landed in 4th place in the Gaon Album Chart. In September 2018, Stone Music Entertainment confirmed that the group would now be managed by Off the Record Entertainment, a new label established by Stone Music to manage this group and Iz*One, with Pledis Entertainment in charge of the creative direction and the production of the group's music. The move was heavily criticized by fans as they felt the group was neglected in terms of promotions and releases compared to Iz*One.

That same year, she made her acting debut with a role in the web series "Welcome to Heal Inn".

In 2021, the group fully transferred to Pledis after Off the Record re-organized. This generated more criticism as Pledis has a history of mismanaging girl groups and hindering their development. In late 2022, she took a break due to health concerns but presumably has fully recovered as she was part of the group's 1st studio album, "Unlock My World", released in June 2023.

On November 29, 2024, Pledis Entertainment announced that the exclusive contracts with Fromis 9 would officially expire on December 31, 2024.
