Thunder

  • Name: Thunder
  • Native name: 천둥
  • Given name: Park Sang Hyun
  • Also Known as: Cheondung, Cheon Dung, Cheon Doong, Park Sang Hyeon, 박상현
  • Nationality: South Korean
  • Gender: Male
  • Born: October 7, 1990
  • Age: 34
Park Sang Hyun, known professionally as Thunder, is a South Korean singer, dancer, actor, model, former member of MBLAQ (엠블랙) and current member of CATTRIEVER (캣트리버). His family moved to the Philippines when he was young, and he graduated from the Philippine Pasay Chung Hua Academy. He is the younger brother of former 2NE1 member Sandara Park.

He returned to South Korea in 2007 and became a JYP Entertainment trainee. Later, he moved to LOEN Entertainment, where he trained alongside IU.

After switching agencies once again, he was a trainee at J. Tune Camp (제이튠캠프) but was not supposed to debut with MBLAQ. Original member Kim Sang Bae was set to debut using the stage name Thunder. He had already recorded all the songs and made promotional videos prior to the group's debut. However, 15 days before debuting, he decided to quit the group due to health issues. He would later debut as part of MADTOWN.

He was brought in with 15 days to prepare, but he had no time to re-record all the material with his voice, so the album was released with Kim's voice. He made his debut in October 2009 (keeping the stage name Thunder) as MBLAQ's lead rapper, lead dancer, vocalist and visual with their first single album, "Just BLAQ". They were managed by and were heavily promoted by both the agency and Rain, who often included them as performers during his concerts and fan meetings, so they enjoyed some success.

After reflecting on how rushed his career had begun, he decided to leave the group in December 2014 to focus on his studies and improve as a singer.

He debuted as a soloist in December 2016 with the single album, "Thunder" and, in November 2022, he signed with D-Nation Entertainment (디네이션 엔터테인먼트) and announced he will only focus on rap music.

In January 2024, he formed the duo CATTRIEVER with former GUGUDAN member Jung Mi Mi and debuted with the single "Sunflower". The couple had been dating for 4 years and married in May 2024.
