They debuted in 2017 with the single "Sorry" and the song was named by Billboard as one of the best pop songs in South Korea that year. After several tours through Europe and the US, the band got into a legal conflict with their agency, J&Star Company, demanding the termination of their contract due to unpaid salaries and being overworked. They reached a settlement in mid-2021 and released a new single, "Beauty and the Beast", by the end of that year under Transparent Arts, an agency created by the American hip-hop group Far East Movement. The band announced a world tour for 2022 and 2023 after 3 members were discharged from their mandatory military service.
