Nishioka Yoshinobu

While studying at the Faculty of Literature at Hosei University, he was conscripted and experienced the end of World War II on the Korean Peninsula. He was detained in the Soviet Union until 1947, and upon returning to Japan in 1948, he joined the Daiei Kyoto Studios. He was assigned to the art department.
In 1952, he served as an art director for the first time in the film "Tenpo Suikoden", and thereafter worked as an art director for approximately 180 films produced by Daiei.
After the bankruptcy of Daiei in 1972, he co-founded "Eizou Kyoto" with former Daiei employees and served as the president and representative director. Alongside this role, he continued to work actively as an art director and producer. In 1989, he became the managing director of Shochiku Kyoto Films, and in 1994, he was appointed as the director of the KYOTO Film School.
On August 31, 2010, citing his advanced age, he dissolved "Eizou Kyoto."
On October 11, 2019, he passed away due to senility at a hospital in Kyoto city. He was 97 years old.
