Oki Masaya was a Japanese actor from Oita Prefecture. Beppu City. He graduated from Oita City Oji Junior High School and high school. He belonged to JK Planning.

One day, he was scouted by a customer and became a model for a fashion magazine, but because it was a one-off job, he continued to work as a snack server, but his life was so difficult that he couldn't even eat.

In 1969, he won the Elan d'or Newcomer Award and has since supported numerous Nikkatsu works. He gained popularity by starring in the TV drama "Saboten and Marshmallow".

In 1981, he was a strong final candidate for the role of Yonoi in Oshima Nagisa's "Senjo no Merry Christmas" but was forced to be excluded from the candidate due to a change in the shooting schedule and his mental illness. In the same year, he starred in "Edo no Asayake", but due to the overcrowded schedule with several other regular programs, he became highly mentally unstable, and on April 11, the same year, he had a car accident while driving a Cadillac. He got diagnosed with a mild sprain in his ankle and manic depression and was hospitalized for two weeks. After being discharged from the hospital, he returned to the scene on June 1 of the same year while taking tranquilizers, but his manic-depressive illness worsened due to the onset of liver inflammation and swelling and obesity due to side effects of the drug.

On June 28, 1983, while the stage performance in Osaka was coming up, at the Keio Plaza Hotel in Nishi-Shinjuku he left a suicide note saying "Dad, I'm waiting in Nirvana." referencing a secret relationship he had and jumped from the top floor (47th floor) of the main building. He fell into the roof pool on the 7th floor of the building, hitting his whole body hard, and dying instantly. He was 31 years old.

The sudden death off the coast had a great impact on the entertainment world and the world, and a funeral and farewell ceremony was held on June 30, 1983, immediately after the suicide. Edit Biography
