He made his debut in April 2011 as the group's lead dancer and vocalist with the digital single, "Do U Wanna B?". The group was created by Cho PD and Stardom Entertainment (스타덤 엔터테인먼트) and enjoyed some success in their early years.
In January 2013, all members filed a lawsuit against the agency for allegedly withholding their payments and not providing opportunities to promote and train. In June of that year, the court ruled in favor of Stardom, and the case was dismissed.
In August 2013, the group transferred to KQ Entertainment (KQ 엔터테인먼트) and obtained bigger commercial success with the following 3 single albums, debuted in Japan and held concerts in Europe and the U.S.
In April 2015, he debuted as part of the sub-unit BASTARZ (바스타즈), alongside B-Bomb and P.O, with their first mini-album, "Conduct Zero".
In January 2018, BLOCK B released a repackage of their previous album titled "Re: Montage" before taking an indefinite hiatus to fulfill military enlistments and focus on other activities.
He enlisted for his mandatory military service on May 18, 2020, and was discharged on November 21, 2021.
In August 2022, he left KQ Entertainment and became part of the dance crew 5SECONDS. Later, they decided to become a company.
He briefly reunited with his group mates during an episode of "The Seasons Season 5" (with Zico as the show's host), and talks of a possible comeback have been held, but nothing official has been determined. BLOCK B has never officially disbanded, but despite not having released any new material for almost a decade, the group retains a strong domestic fanbase.
