Bittersweet.

If you like fluffy endings and rom-coms, this drama is not it. From beginning to end, the characters and plot are all complex and deep. The story is fast-paced yet riveting. Just like the ocean, its vast and the cinematography is so beautiful. But what made me love this drama are the characters. They all real people just going through life.

I know that some people will hate the ending because they want HE. However, it made sense for YZJ to die. I do think that when SMZ told him to stay, I think he really stayed and lived his last days with her, symbolizing the ring on her hand at the jewel auction. She did outlive him, but she lived his dreams of traveling the world.
I cried so much šŸ’”šŸ’”. So poignant.
They got everything they wanted, but there is always a price to pay.
but just like the purple stars, they will meet and be together forever! šŸ„¹ā¤ļøšŸ˜

Slice of Life Xianxia

This was my anticipated drama of 2023 and although I hoped that it couldā€™ve been 50 episodes (in my personal opinion, 40 is too short. I just feel like 10 additional episodes would be better, but I get it) I still enjoyed the drama in itā€™s entirety. I was also looking forward to the Lusi-Anyu pairing, they definitely did not disappoint, and they had a lot of chemistry, like kids and friends, and when they matured in the later episodes. You could say that ALP is much more grander in scale and cinematography, but I love the story of TLI. its simple and beautiful and focused on the life of Gu Jin/A Yin. The theme song will also grow with you and I enjoy and love it now.

I do have to say, the friendship of the four leads is my favorite of this series. They are all wonderful as individuals and even greater as a team! Even in the later episodes, youā€™ll love them even so much more. šŸ«¶
I recommend this drama a lot! and even if you havenā€™t seen ALP, you can watch this for its plot and slice of life. Yes, it is still xianxia, and the angst are still there, but the happy early episodes are fun and bright. ā¤ļø

I hope Anyu and Lusi get to be paired again! šŸ«¶šŸ«¶

The Best among the rest for 2022!

Love like the Galaxy was based on a Chinese novel but it is not what attracted me to this drama. Iā€™m a longtime Lusi watcher, so I will watch anything that she is in and was looking forward to this drama after WRTW. I was also excited to see how she will fair with Wu Lei. But I didnā€™t expect how much I would love this series beyond Lusi. The production, casts, storyline and even the director made me love this drama even more. And I can even say that this community is the best and it was wonderful to find people with the same passion as me.

I also am a binge marathon watcher, in which I never watch a drama until it finishes airing. However, this drama caught my eye and I could never look back. Each character was meticulously written and each episode is never wasted. Issues within the episodes are solved then and there and plots are not lost in translation. I also loved that you can relate somewhat, somehow to any of their experiences and feel for them, and why they act a certain way. This is one of those dramas that you will not skip any scenes and will see something new when you go rewatch the series.

Of course, the main characters Shao Shang and Ling Buyi take the main plot, but you will fall in love with the people around them (the Cheng family, the Wans, the people in the palace, etc). What I enjoyed most about this series is that the characterā€™s decisions are valid and not mind-bogglingly stupid. The flaws are there and the characters are developed well. I definitely have my favorites like the Wendi and Consort Yue, Shao Shang, etc. but you will still like the other characters in their own way.

The music is also beautiful, and it grows in you that I have it on my playlist now. I could repeat it over and over. The ending ost is so rich and haunting that it lingers in your mind after you've watched the episode.

I'm so thankful for this drama and I guarantee that you will not regret starting this series! And now I'm sad that it's over. T___T. Don't forget your tissues and towels or even your buckets! This is one of those dramas that you will enjoy watching and even hope for 100 episodes and even more! Thank you director Fei for Love Like the Galaxy! ā¤ļøā¤ļø

Itā€™s An Zhenā€™s story, but it can happen to anyone.

I can honestly say that this is not your typical romance drama. It is raw, real and heartbreaking.
But I think itā€™s one of the most beautiful stories in a long time that you can relate to.
It is a story about An Zhen, who is a dedicated housewife of 10 years to her husband, Rui Fei. They have 1 child together and it although it seemed perfect to everyone else, soon they had cracks and issues that destroyed their marriage. But at the core of the series, it is An Zhenā€™s story and it is her growth that has made her become the ā€œfierceā€ wife.
People should definitely watch this drama!

a beautiful story about grief and sadness, yet love heals in so many ways.

Grief - Something we all experience and feel but process differently due to the loss of something or someone. This drama does a great job of showing how each person copes with the loss of a loved one and how they help each other heal through love and time.

The reality is that you have to allow yourself to grieve and cry and process sadness. Sadness helps you mourn and cry and help you move on. Not allowing yourself to grieve can lead you to depression, which is not healthy for your soul and the people you love and love you.

I enjoyed this drama and cried and laughed with them. Thinking about it, they may be sad and missing Na Ra, but having each other and support around you, will help heal your broken heart.
