Toxic filth
Only in BL land could a drama like this be made! The writer of this drama must have mental issues, it is the only explanation for how someone could write such disgusting filth and call it entertainment. Someone had to proof read this garbage and then green light it, then the company had to invest time and money making it. I find it sickening that nowhere along the line someone didn't say " Hang on a minute, we can't make something like this!"
I understand that in the real world there are terrible people and bad things happen, but this drama glorifies disgusting behavior and pretends that it is normal. I really can not understand why the gay community do not condemn these BL drama's, is this really how people believe gay people live there lives?

Perverts, Manipulators and the mentally challenged
It starts with the perverted old Grandfather deciding that he will arrange a marriage between his preteen Grandson and his little best friend, not the best start. His daughter and son in law don't seem to mind and the poor friends were happy to sell their preteen son into some kind of prostitution, they were rich by the end so it worked out for them.
We then jump into the future, the children have grown and are dating, Kuea ( pervert Grandfather) is now 20 yo and mentally challenged. He lives a secret life of motorcycles and club singing while being a cutie pie innocent boy for his boyfriend Lian.
Lian knows about Kuea's secret life and wants him to come out, so he tells him he doesn't love him ( Maybe that made sense to the writer but not to me ).
Kuea cries and calls of the relationship and this is where it could have got interesting, instead it just plodded along with Lian the manipulator lying all the time and Kuea the mentally challenged lying all the time.
Every episode we get Kuea saying he his going to be strong and independent but then acting like a battered wife, Lian just played along while talking to Kuea like a 5yo child and manipulating him at every opportunity.
They finally sort everything out and start dating ( never any explanation on why Lian told him he didn't love him at the beginning ) , Lian even asked Kuea if he had been drinking before they had sex.
In this Thai BL they decide they didn't want to drunk rape anyone, shocking I know, but they didn't mind Lian having sex with someone with the mental capacity of a goldfish.
Kuea finally grew a spine and a brain ( not for long ) and dumps Lian at the most inconvenient time, only to get back with him a hour later, THE END.
I think the drama would have been better if Lian had not known that Kuea had a secret life and was acting innocent, he then tells him he doesn't love him and Kuea calls of the relationship.
Keau is heartbroken because he as been trying to please Lian by being cutie pie and all innocent. Jump a few months and Kuea as moved on and is being his real self.
Lian could have then fell in love with the real Keau and the story would have ended happy with a moral twist about loving yourself and being honest in a relationship.

Grooming 101
This drama isn't really worth a review so I will be quick. The story seems to have been based on a, "How to groom a child" manual, they just made the child into an adult but left him acting like a preteen boy.
We have 3 adult men in power, all chasing after the immature intern who doesn't understand normal behaviour between grown men. They are all constantly touching him, leaning against him, wiping his mouth, cleaning his hands or have him sit in their lap while getting an erection. When they are not groping him then it's sexual innuendos and obvious flirting, nothing seems to bother our little boytoy intern who doesn't understand boundaries.
We have his top Boss who was his childhood friend, it is meant to mean something but I don't know what. They haven't seen each other for 15 years and never once went out for drinks and talk about old times. The childlike intern does hold a grudge against his Boss though, he left him all those years ago without saying goodbye. I can understand a 10 year old boy being upset that his friend left him, but 15 years later he should have realized it wasn't his choice and he isn't to blame.
His other Boss is his friend who as fancied him for years and never told him, he just buys him chocolate milk, rubs his head and treats him like a child that he wants to date.
The third man is an Idol/model, he also wants the intern, but he is more direct and keeps asking him to date him. The intern never answer with a yes/ no, it is like he is a child and doesn't understand the question.
There are many more things I could say about this terrible drama but I am bored now and really can't be bothered.

Must have been on drugs when writing this drama
If I meet a stranger and they tell me that I must date them or I will die, I would probably start looking for the nearest exit. When they tell me that they are 300 years old and have been waiting for me to come back, I would probably pick up the phone and call the nearest mental hospital.Seol decides to keep working for his new boss who is batshit crazy, he even goes out for dinner with him later. Very few questions are asked by Seol, but Seol is slightly retarded and believes everything he is told ( which isn't much ) and then starts dating his new boss.
Denis the popstar who also has mental problems takes an interest in Seol , they do say birds of a feather flock together, so all the loons together makes sense. Denis is very problematic but Seol doesn't seem to notice but then the lights are on dim most of the time.
Min Yu, the very old, crazy boss/boyfriend who waited 300 years for Seol to come back to him, also doesn't seem to mind leaving Seol with oddball Denis, but then he doesn't seem to mind leaving him a lot of the time.
Maybe it is just me but if I waited 300 years for someone to come back to me, I would probably clear my calendar and spend all my time with him.
It turns out that Seol is the son of God ( I didn't think God made mistakes ) and because Min Yu gave him a name it caused a big problem and got him killed. I don't know why Min Yu is still alive after 300 years or why Seol came back, who's Denis or why anyone allowed this drama to be made. Maybe they had a competition on who could write the worst BL drama, this is top ten for sure.

Finally a decent BL
I couldn't believe it when Korea decided to do a version of the Thai BL "Why R U ", not only were they doing a version of a very bad Thai BL, but then 2 of the worst Thai actors were also going to be in it ( Luckily they were not in it for long ).The first 2 episodes were a little slow, but then after that it just got better and better.
The only problem was, the more I enjoyed it the more anxious I got watching it. I kept waiting for it all to go wrong, in some way my anxiety spoilt it for me, but now it's finished I can appreciate it without the worry.
The main couple were great, they were both likeable and even though they had their ups and downs it was all resolved quickly. The other couple I liked, but their story was stilted and problematic for no real reason other than to add drama to the show.
Overall the drama was a sweet and fun watch with likeable characters and an easy storyline that managed to improve on the original Thai version.

Vile!
I hated this drama, the first few episodes were OK but after that each episode was just dark and depressing leading up to the obvious and unforgivable ending. The story starts with Won getting fired from his job. His boss tells him that if he can find the chairman's favorite potter he will get him his job back. He decides to take a break away and luckily meets the potter, he starts spying on him and reporting back to his boss. Over the next 7 episodes he uses the potter's friends to help him get close and find out information, searching his house, reading his mail and just being a complete vile pig.
In between being scum he starts having feeling for the potter, we then get the longing looks and all the normal sweet moments. It never really made much sense to me how one scene is all lovey dovey and then the next one is him calling the boss or emailing a report about the potter, how can I like this guy?
7 episodes later and they have started dating, but he's still not told the potter the truth. It is meant to be a love story, but every episode is tainted because one is a scumbag lying and deceiving the other one.
I don't care if he's fallen in love with him, it's been 7 episodes, 7 episodes out of 10 of me watching Won befriending someone for all the wrong reasons and only feeling guilty because he now has feeling for him.
The potter finds out the truth and breaks up with Won and I am finally happy. I would have liked some violence or maybe had Yoon spit in his face, but at least the scum as now been dumped.
The potter's friends for some unknown reason all decide to give him terrible advice and take Won's side, these people were also lied to and used by Won but they don't seem to mind.
Not really caring seems to be a theme in this drama, Won invites someone to his Birthday getaway knowing that his other friend won't like it, but no one gets angry or annoyed
Won leaves the Birthday getaway halfway through without telling his friend who organized it for him, but no one got angry or annoyed.
Won spends months lying and using everyone, but again, no one cared. The potter ( Yoon ) who is the victim, even blames himself for what Won did to him. Won, twice in the drama tells Yoon that he feels wronged because Yoon doesn't trust him anymore.
The drama ends when Yoon chases after Won and apologizes to him, the guy is scum but somehow he as become the victim in this drama.
If he had come clean earlier in the drama I could have liked this drama, but it was too little loo late and what he did was unforgivable.
Yoon kept having flashbacks to all their sweet moments, it made no sense to me. After finding out that Won had been lying and deceiving him all these months, all these sweet moments would now be sour moments, the memories would hurt more because he loved him.
Forgiving someone is the easy part, forgetting is the difficult part, that is the part that will tear you apart inside and stop you taking someone back. All your good times together get destroyed, you sit there questioning the sincerity of their previous words and actions until it drives you crazy.

If you suck enough lemons they start tasting sweet
The story is very basic, but sometimes basic is good.it was just a fun and sweet drama that was OK to watch if you are bored and have time to pass. I only have 2 problems with the drama, other than being basic it is like painting by numbers.
The story is a little different, but it follows the same old formula, we all know that they will get together, split up and then get back together for the end.
My other problem was the ending, the last two episodes just left a bitter taste in my mouth. People do things for ridiculous reasons and then it just seemed to snowball from one ridiculous thing to the next.
The two ML's are both good looking ( lots of teeth ) and work well together, the story is fine but other than that it's just an OK past the time drama.

Was it a drama or an advert?
Korea have two kinds of BL, there is the angst ridden melodrama or the fluff drama, this one is fluff. There is nothing really bad about this drama, but there is nothing really good about it either. The two main characters are a teetotal chef who hates alcohol and a camp little alcoholic who will probably need a liver transplant before he is 50.
The drama plods along until the happy ending, it turns out that all we need in life to make us happy and solve all our problems is a camp alcoholic and a mountain load of booze.
I have watched so many Thai BL's that I started panicking during the first episode when he got drunk, but then I remembered it was Korean and knew nothing bad was going to happen.
There doesn't seem to be a lot of BL in BL drama's anymore but if you are bored and have nothing better to do, you won't be offended watching this drama.

Sweet
I have actually watched this drama twice because I liked it so much.I always believe that is it important to make the main leads likeable, both the ML's in this drama had issues but they were relatable, likeable and I wanted them to get together and be happy.
When they were together I found myself smiling along with them, there were problems along the way but they were resolved quickly and the story never got bogged down or too unpleasant.
The story could have been better, it wasn't terrible but there were parts that were just added to give it extra drama, I am probably nitpicking because they never altered my opinion of the drama.
All the actors were good and there were no real toxic characters to spoil the mood of the drama .

It is bad, very, very, bad
I wasn't going to watch this drama but silly me decided to listen to the reviews which somehow are mostly positive. I am 11 episodes in and each episode just gets worse and worse, it is so unrealistic, full of plot holes and very badly written. Most of the reviews said they were happy that the story had moved away from the university setting and that the writers were trying something new and exciting, this would be true if the writers knew anything about crime, doctors, police, coroners and autopsies.
This drama seems to have been written by a child after watching a few episodes of Scooby Doo and thought that a BL murder mystery would be a good idea.

The pit of despair
I will start with the only good thing about this drama, it was only 7 episodes long. That was still 7 episodes too many, but compared to most BL it did finish early, it's just a shame it even started. We have our two ML's, one is mentally challenged and the other one is a more dominant liar, coercing and manipulating the other one. This is the Thai formula for BL, this drama is just another regurgitated mess with an extra slice of toxicity added because it seems, BL fans love toxic filth in their BL drama's.
So how did they manage to make it even more toxic? They had a wedding planner getting it on with the groom to the wedding he was planning. I know people will be screaming now " but it was a fake wedding!"
I know that it was a fake wedding, that the bride was a lesbian with a girlfriend, but the wedding planner did not. He flirted, kissed and finally had sex ( Drunk sex obviously, we can not have a Thai BL without some questionable sexual encounter). He never showed any guilt or remorse for what he was doing, the only reason he stopped was because he didn't want to get hurt.
It was meant to be this big love story, that they both fell in love and couldn't stop themselves, the wedding planner saw the groom in McDonald's and found him hot. Most people save that memory up for later and beat one out, but not the wedding planner. He went back to work still thinking about the hot guy in McDonald's, then shockingly in walks the hot guy with his bride to be, they want him to plan their wedding. This should burst anyone's bubble, but no, he takes the job and then the flirting starts between the wedding planner and the groom.
Episode 5 the groom explains that he just wanted some fun before the wedding with the wedding planner, but then he fell in love with him.
How does this make sense?
If you wanted some bum sex before your wedding then why wouldn't you just tell the wedding planner what you want on day one and then get it on?
The falling in love idea also doesn't make sense, why would you fall in love with someone who is happily flirting with you when he knows you are getting married soon? The guy is obviously scum with no morals, sweet talking the bride while flirting with the groom.
When did they fall in love anyway? The groom saw the wedding planner working at another wedding, that was it.
The wedding planner saw the groom eating in McDonalds, then he found out he had a fiance and was getting married.
So when did they fall in love? It must have been while planning the wedding, when the groom was lying and manipulating the wedding planner and the wedding planner was thinking " this hot guy is trying to get it on with me behind his bride's back, what a catch"

Depressing
Every Country that makes BL drama's seems to have a formula and the Korean formula is at full force with this drama. The two ML's are at logger heads at the beginning but they end up falling in love, there will then be a misunderstanding/betrayal causing them to split up. We then get the sad looks and waiting by the phone, they realize it was all a mistake and run to each, ending with some hand holding and longing looks ( Then we wait for season 2 to find out that the writers have decided to destroy it all)
The formula might have been the same but the story was not, I HATED THIS STORY!
There was no fun to this story, a sad boy become a sad adult who then finds some happiness only to become sad again.
We all want drama's to be more realistic but I don't want to watch a drama about sad and pathetic people living a crappy life, it is too close to home.
All the time I was watching this drama I was at angst, waiting for the next terrible situation to happen, I never smiled, I just sat there feeling uneasy and depressed.

Strangely moral for a BL drama
The premise of the story is ridiculous, Boy is in love with another boy so he makes a bet with him to get a girl to like him and take him on a date. I know BL drama's do like their silly storylines (2Gether) but unlike 2Gether this one was sorta good.Even though it was only 4 episodes long I did get bored with it, nothing really happened much and there were no really outstanding moments.
I often get dragged into watching a drama after watching short clips on Youtube, them outstanding moments that make you remember it fondly even though you never really liked it that much.
The shining light about this drama is the message, it was actually a sweet non toxic BL drama. Who knew that could happen!
It is worth a watch if you are bored and have some time to spare, it won't blow your socks off but it won't offend you either

Are we meant to care about these people?
I had my doubts but I kinda enjoyed the first episode, it was all very tongue in cheek and the ending with the tables being turned made it OK. The next few episodes just plodded on with both characters getting more and more unlikeable, two very morally corrupt characters that I assume we are meant to care about.I don't want to go into too much detail, but after what happened in episode one I couldn't understand how they could get together. If in episode two there had been some conversation addressing what happened and some apologizing then maybe I could have had some empathy for the characters later on, instead they doubled down and decided to make them both even more disgusting.
Thai BL really do make some very disgusting drama's but people seem to love them, I am not sure what I am more angry about, the drama's or the comments section on Youtube

Painting by numbers
Korea seem to have two formula's for a BL drama, there is the silly fluff story or the angst ridden melodrama. This one follows the melodrama formula, everything is exaggerated until nothing really makes any sense. If you have watched a few Korean BL's before then you know the formula,
Episodes 1-4 convoluted beginning and storyline
Episode 5-6 they find love
Episode 7 the angst ridden episode with problem/break up
Episode 8 they remember how to communicate and it all ends happy.
At first I was happy with Korean BL, they added more depth to their stories, but now it's just the same old formula over and over again.
The other problem I have with them is they are rather depressing, a drama needs some up's and down's but there are more down's than up's
