Needed character depth
It was blatantly obvious alright about what the drama was going to be about from the title. It didn't romanticise "toxic relationships" as some would say (I think people need to stop throwing the word "romanticise"around ) It relayed how people who find themselves in relationships like this think and analyse things. The show didn't hide the fact that that was the direction it was going to ,hence the title . I love slice of life dramas but this one lacked character depth, because that's what I was looking forward too. I understood the characters' mindsets but I was just annoyed there wasn't enough sensibility in the writing of their characters. One of the dramas I felt I wasted my time with, tbh. Was this review helpful to you?
It's okay
As someone who grew up in a town, I have to say the writing for each of the characters was very sensible. I could relate so much and the characters felt real, they provoked me,made me judge, made me laugh and made me cry (just a few times) I just love when a drama has good character depth which makes it seem like the viewer is actually watching real people and their problems . And the acting was so good,I can excuse a bad storyline but if the acting is bad ,it would be dropped. The costume is design is also noteworthy, each suited the character's personality especially the male lead.But.......why is it so highly rated? I hated the childhood trope incorporated in this drama it was unnecessary and was so contrived. And also his mental breakdown should have been reviewed in like episode 13 or something, it's a character driven drama, I don't understand why it was rushed .
It's one of those highly rated dramas that didn't wow me or anything but I appreciated a lot of it's components like the character depth, realistic familial relationship and the sceneries.
