Tears, tears and tears.

Children gone to Poland is a really tragic story about orphans from both south and north Korea being sent to a small polish village durning war. Story also mentions present time north korean defectors, mostly teenagers and young adults that run away from North Korea after 2000s, this way we can take a look at the current situation and reflect on what is happening right now in the world.

This movie should be talked about way more. It tells a story from the past, but also brings us closer to what is happening in the world even right now, 60+ years after.

If you are polish, korean or just like history please do watch it. It is truely heart-breaking, tragic and tear-jerking.

Just 12 minutes, yet a lot said.

I found this by accident, decided to try it out.
Story is inspired by a south korean poet and LGBT rights activist Yook Woo-dang ( real name Yun Hyon-seok). Just a 12 minute movie, but it expressed so much and made me reflect on some things.

Later I read the story behind it and im glad it lead me to it.
Yook Woo-dang , is a really important figure in the south korean LGBT circle, his suicide in protest of a homosexuality discrimination resulted in big changes of the gay media censor.

If u are already here, please watch it, its only 12 minutes yet it is such an important movie.

What i liked and disliked, and what kind of ending it is.

Back from the brink is a story about Yan Hui ( the female lead ) potrayed as a taoist discipline who's supposted to protect people from demons, the male lead, Tian Yao, however is an ancient demon dragon.
It is a romance between two different worlds, which makes it really complicated but also adds great depth to their relationship.

What i liked:
- Story/Plot overall, bit different from all the xianxias which is what i liked.
- Cgi/ special effects, im very picky when it comes to special effects, and most of the time i hate it, but here i found them great.
- Actors, great choice, in my opinion they fit their roles perfectly, Neo is amazing playing a demon.
- costumes/sets, costume change later on was a great visual cue, reflecting the inner transformation, noticed nd loved it.
- character development and side characters

What i disliked:
- Pacing, heavy on pacing, it couldve been less episodes in my opinion.
- How complicated it became sometimes. I guess story becoming complicated adds depth but it also makes u really confused. Random filler episodes and breaks from the main plot, as well as main plot totally shifting to a different one..... not my cup of tea personally.

Neutral:
- Mood changes, from really sad and tragic to comedy to yet sad again to happy, a bit of a rollercoaster tbh but I am okay with that
- ending, personally it was an okay ending for this type of story. (happy one if u are wondering)

Overall rating: 9.0
