Sometimes it's slow-paced and uneventful, sometime it's so good it's the best Kdrama ever

It's hard to wrap it up in a few words. But i would say this is probably the longest buildup i have ever seen.
It has 16 episodes, and the actions and dramatic parts start at around ep.11 12. Before that it was about character building and bonding (those memories will be used effectively against us later).

The fantasy romance story is intriguing. It has good plot twists and back story. Although the pacing is sometimes a bit slow, overall it sends meaningful messages of love, hate, afterlife, regret, loneliness and forgiveness. It can break your heart and also make you smile

The acting is good, nothing to complain about. The chemistry between the second lead couple is so good at all time. At the beginning the main couple feels a bit lacking, near the end it gets a lot better. But the best chemistry has to be the bromance between Goblin and Grim Reaper!
The characters are well built and developed, relatable and make reasonable decisions. But mostly they are madly driven by love.

The music is so beautiful and sad, wished they had kept the ending song till the end though. The special effects feel natural (the glowing sword and the power of grim reaper), but the flying moments were a bit off.

The atmosphere changes so fast. One moment it's fluff and romantic (with a little too many staring-straight-at-each-other-for-a-century), and a second later it's heart wrenching and full of dramas and actions. It's was well-balanced, i just wished it was more consistent.

Overall, i would recommend this series if you are looking for a romance story sets in the present, with wholesome bromance, fantasy elements and a tragic backstory from a past life, which would now affect the choices and emotions of the characters.

Beautiful and light-hearted

Overall, this is a very beautiful and well made series.

The story isn’t perfect but it has its own charm. Although it’s mostly light-hearted with little twists, it has a fair share of funny moments, friendship, fantasy, romance and heartache. It would make a good heartwarming stress reliever.

The acting is good enough, nothing to complain about. The characters act pretty reasonable, relatable and in-characters, except for some funny comic relief moments.

The music is so beautiful and emotional, especially the ending song.
The special effects (water magic, glowing swords,..) look astonishing and realistic.

I do strongly recommend it if you’re looking for a fantasy romance drama that set in the ancient time, with a not so heavy story but exciting and interesting enough to make you keep wanting for more.

Don’t waste your time!

Honestly I came here from the drama Tomorrow to see more of Lee Soo Huyk’s acting and… the acting was good, very good actually. But that’s about it.

Up until the reborn, everything was not bad. The snowfield scene was actually very well-made and cinematic. But in their second lives, the plot just went straight down hill, no brakes.

In short, there were so many unnecessary mysteries that never got an explanation, many leads that went nowhere, questions that were unanswered, tensions that just didn’t stop or plot twists that were so uncalled for, just so that the story could go on conveniently. Not to mention the questionable thrilling/horror moments that didn’t fit in the movie at all, and served absolutely no purpose. Characters made OoC choices so often that would make us viewers question their sanity, cause it’s just wouldn’t make any sense. And the main female lead being unbearable in her love choices the entire show.

I tried to watch till the end in hope that the questions that were left would be answered but what I received was more annoying moments and the peak of it was the last scene. I mean, why must the suffering continues, if the choices were made already?

After this drama, I got emotional traumatized for one day because of how bad it was and now have to rewatch Tomorrow and find some good dramas to recover. So my advice is, don't make the same mistake as me!

This is the definition of a beautifully done show.

The fantasy story is emotional and unique, daring to touch some very sensitive problems when portraying the life story of different unfortunate souls. It’s amazing how the heartbreaking situations can have heartwarming outcomes thanks to the effort of our lovely grim reapers. And the revenge that comes afterwards are so just and satisfying!

The actings are phenomenal. Just from the look they give each other we could tell thousands of love, pain, hatred but also longings. The chemistry from the main couple is so good and the interactions between the CM team members are so cute!

The characters are very beautifully presented with wide range of emotions and development. And it’s a fashion show every time our boss Goo appears. The visuals from our characters are top-notch!

The atmosphere is mostly serious but sometimes also funny. Dealing with difficult issues regarding life and death, the natural humor that we occasionally get is very appreciated.

The effects are good too. The OST are soo beautifully sad and seeing the different aspect of filming by drones are also cool. Love how iconic the teleportation looks and sounds here.

Overall, it’s definitely a must see if you’re looking for something unlike your typical Kdrama. But brace yourself for the onions cutting ninja!

P/s: can we please get a season 2 please I miss them so much!
