overall enjoyed this drama. the ending was quite underwhelming though, with the lack of emotionality and meaningful lines from mong woo. i do wish that this drama leaned a bit more into it's potential for more emotional + affectionate scenarios at times. there were times when they nailed it (the mong woo-yi in ep 8 kissing scene is possibly one of the best sageuk kissing scenes i've seen to date) but fell flat at other times (we could've gotten more affection in that ep 15 scene when mong woo was comforting yi in after he literally just sent his uncle to death).

i just got one more good memory to keep.

this is honestly a j-drama romance classic, in my opinion. though i did predict that last episode, i was still ugly-crying hard by the end (snot and all). i appreciate how this drama leaned more heavily on the slice-of-life genre rather than romance— it made for an emotional yet heartwarming watch. tsuyoshi domoto plays the role of big brother so well and he's been officially added to my list of j-drama men that i need in my life.

anyway, it's a pretty good watch. the way i was crying by the end was almost stupid. the theme song 'summer snow' by winnie hsin will definitely stick with me for a while.

you're still you

my perception of nam yoon su as an actor has grown exponentially since seeing this drama. his performance as the flawed yet poignant and poetic go young left me laughing, smiling, and in tears multiple times throughout the drama. his chemistry with each of his love interests was amazing and i can safely say that this might be the best cast i have witnessed in a korean bl so far.

honestly, this was a beautifully sad watch (hence the slightly lower rewatch value), but the visuals, music, acting and dialogue are an easy 10/10 for me. this drama is an absolute win for korean bl, in my opinion. hope to see nam yoon su choose projects as interesting as this in the future because he definitely has the talent for it!
