It kinda broke all the stereotypes revolving around any BL series. Usually, they would go through hardships due to some girl coming into the relationship or people around them not accepting their sexuality or not approving of them causing fights to happen and even huge misunderstandings. I've kinda gotten too sick of the same things happening in BL series all the time.
This drama, however, was different. It's not only about just simple love, but it also teaches many about morals and how we should view things in life. We should stand up for the wrongdoing and start to think about how we can rather improve everything we aren't happy or satisfied with. Efforts do matter. It also shows that behind all the shields people build up around themselves, they are just normal people like any of us are.
I love Singto and Krist's acting. It felt very mutual with so much chemistry. In many other BL series, the acting was rather forced and looked so unnatural. I loved how this series also did not focus on the sexual aspect of the relationship. It was innocent and pure, which was like a breath of fresh air. I like how the actors don't seem awkward with each other too!. But the thing I appreciate about this series is the acceptance of people towards others, no matter what their sexuality or gender necessarily was. They didn't have to make a whole fuzz about it, despite the insecurities that they both felt. I also like how there were straight couples too, which is rare in a BL series. Usually, most of the guys would most likely be all gay, which is highly unrealistic.
This drama was a slow builder which usually I don't like, but I loved that about this series. It kept me hyped and anticipated to watch the next episode as I was curious to finally see them interact romantically.
The only thing I don't like is me not being able to find a BL drama which surpasses this one. I watched a few after this one and they would all rather seem extremely boring to me. I blame Sotus for setting my standards too high. The other thing which annoyed me though was the forced fanservice which sometimes I think is tiring for them as actors. I do understand that people do wish they get together in real life, but we just have to accept that they both have their own personal lives that we have no business with. They are also doing this only to promote their series further. Imagine you being constantly shipped with someone and having to act that you both like each other, just for fanservice, when you might actually just view them as a friend and nothing more.
Overall, I highly recommend you do watch this, but just after you finish every other BL drama on your list because this will certainly make other ones seem not as good as you'd want them to be.
