Story:
I think the story is definitely a majority of what gives sotus its charm. although it isnt a very complex story, it is a very realistic and emotional story revolving around the struggles of same
sex relationships and discovering yourself. I think that it is really well told with enough high points and low points to draw you in and feel the emotions of the characters. It is very innocent. Although the mechanic trope is very overused, this bl was the first of its kind. When watching sotus, I keep in mind that it was made in 2016 and paved the way for a lot of bl’s. For its time, this drama was unlike any other, leading to the BL’s that we get to see today! I also like the fact that there is no unnecessary making out or intimate scenes. As far as bl’s go, (with exceptions of course, there are a lot of great bls out there) i feel as though the story is just used for a bit of flavour, and all that the drama really revolves around is kissing and making out for viewers pleasure. Sotus, however, is pretty soft and innocent and I love it! I have always loved slow burn. If you love to see a relationship slowli unfold, with the satisfaction of sweetness at the end, this drama is definitely for you. It approaches the storyline very well and very sensibly.
Acting/Cast:
This is something that I know there are a lot of opinions on. I personally think that Krist and Singto did an amazing job. This was early in both of their careers. For me, good acting is when you can feel what the character is feeling, and you can differentiate the character from the person playing it. I think that they both did a very good job. I will ahree that some of the scenes are kind of cringe, but they are sampled from the novel and relevant to the story haha. Also, I find a drama a lot more loveable when there are loveable side characters. I love the energy of Artith’s friends. Especiallu Bright, of course, a fan favourite. Smaller details like that make a drama more enjoyable for me. There are a few characters that I feel lacked energy, but this didn’t effect any important dramatic performance so I can look past it. You know that a cast is loveable when you can’t help but get uspet after watching the last espisode. For me, my heart was set on Artith and Kongpop. Of course they are the main characters, and the cast is iconic, but not iconic to the point where i watch compliations on youtube and stuff because i miss them. Overall, Kongpop and Artith are the perfect match! And the actors are good friends in real life, which always helps to make their performance more authentic.
Music:
Soooo many bops the music definitely leaves its mark and makes sotus iconic. There are too particular songs for me. The opening track (of course) and the song that plays during the bed scene (not what you think, you will see haha) and some other scenes. It is always nice to have a song associated with characters to make you more emotionally attatched to them. The opening track also gives u nostalgia after u don’t hear it for a while.
Rewatch value:
Considering I first watched this drama 2 years ago and i am still writing a review for it now, that speaks for itself. The only reason I watch is for the authenticity and slow burn of Kong and Arthits relationship. Atfter a while, you sometimes miss it.
Overall:
It is definitely worth the watch! Don’t expect anything sexual, go into the drama knowing that you will experience a sweet story. Its iconic.
Especially if you have only recently joined the world of BL, this drama paved the way.

Story:
When you first watch, the story does seem a little bit cheesy and stereotypically fairy-tale like. But as you continue to watch, especially as the first episode ends, you learn that there is so muvh more to the story than a girl turning into a boy and a magical unicorn. It tackles love triangles, pressure, troubles in friendship, selfishness and lots of very complex plot points that I really got into! The story is easy to follow along with, and you really get into it. Personally, story is very important to me. Especially with BLs (I’m not sure if this counts as a BL or not, but regardless I will continue to refer to it as a BL because it a lotnof the demographic is BL fans) I always feel like they focus more on the romance and fanservice rather than the plot which really bothers me! The romance is accompanied nicely with a good plot that keeps you entertained and interested in the story. I was also worried about how the representation would be considering Love is a girl in a boys body, but I’m really happy with how they conveyed it! This could’ve been problematic, but the drama settles on the idea that love is the person, and not the gender. Kudos to the writers, I wish I had more words to describe how much I love the story haha. I do feel as though Good’s relationship with Me was a little bit pointless, but nevertheless it added a little bit of wholesomeness. I also found myself cringing a little bit at the tournament the first time I watched it, just because of how different it was from the rest of the drama. But after watching it again, I realise that it is really well done. It’s not my favourite part of the drama, but it is really good for character development.
Acting/Cast:
The acting is spectacular. This is another problem I sometimes face with BL dramas. (Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of BL dramas with great actors!) But the acting is sometimes cheesy and forced. I’m not sure if its just me, but I sometimes struggle to see the person on screen as a character. I see them as an actor trying to play a character, and saying lines meaninglessly. But the acting goes way beyond that in this drama! Especially with the actor who plays male Love. I am so impressed. There was a lot of emotionally complexity that he had to convey, and he nailed it. He also did really well showing that he is a girl in a boys body. I am particualrly impressed with him! When you can feel what a character is feeling, that is how you know an actor is good. Tangmo is also perhaps my favourite character in any drama ever. He is easily a fan favourite and you have to love him! The acting among the cast is so casual and well done, and I appreciate it. It reminded me of westeen entertainment. (I’m not saying western entertainment is always better, I just think the standards are a lot higher). Every character has something special about them, and they all did really well. You become attatched to each character, and that’s how you know its a good cast!
Music:
The OST is really catchy and I like how it is used in the drama. I find myself singing the opening tune sometimes haha. Also, the opening credits enticed me the moment I first watched the drama!
Rewarch value:
Considering this is my third time watching it, I definitely think that you would most not settle on watching it once. If I feel an emotional attatchment to a drama, I will watch it again!
Overall:
My favourite thai drama of all time! I love everything about it. There is so much character development and emotional struggles. I couldn’t reccomend it enough.

Story:
I think the story is told very well! It is a very long drama, with 50 episodes. I am used to watching much shorter series, so I was expecting each episode to be very dragged out. But every minute of the drama is part of the story, and no time is wasted! The story is captivating, and you grow an emotional attachment to the characters. Garunteed, by the time you finish this drama, you will have a favourite and a deep opinion on every single character.
My only complaint with the story telling is the first two episodes. The story is being told, and then it is put on hold for a long time. By the time you get back to that part of the story, you have most likely forgotten what has happened at the start of the story (if it is your first time watching it. unlike me, who has rewatched it countlessly haha). they could’ve avoided this, but i do understand why it was told like that. it adds dramatic effect and makes sense in a wag. you can always watch the first two episodes again if you forget haha.
Acting/Cast:
Amazing!!!!! Cannot stress this enough. I love all of the actors so so much. The cast have my heart. The actors did an incredible job playing their roles. A lot of story can be told just by the expressions of characters. I sometimes get that uncomfortable feeling when you can see past an actor’s character on screen. But they all did perfectly! Even the extras steal the show lol. I would particularly like to praise Wang Yibo, who plays Lan Zhan. A character who walks around with a blank face but has a lot of emotional complexity can’t be an easy role to fulfil. You can also see how much wei wuxian ans lan wangji care for each other. The love is THERE. Xiao Zhan ans Wang Yibo said screw censorship
Music:
Without spoiling anything, there are two specific songs that stand out in this drama’s soundtrack. One is the main theme, which you will figure out why, and the other is a big part of a certain scene that beings me to tears even THINKING about it. If you love it when a drama effects you emotionally like that, you have come to right drama.
Rewatch Value:
I have watches this drama 5 times during quarantine and I think that speaks for itself. Especially when there is a lot of ground to cover, you will discover things you missed the last time you watched it every time. There is a lot of symbolism and cute stuff hehe
Overall:
Definitely worth watching!! Even just as a casual watcher, you will enjoy this drama. If you end up being sucked into the fandom, don’t say I didn’t warn you. :)

there are four main couples in the series. pete x ae, tin x can, tum x tar and kla x no. each couple is very different and has their own backstory. although the series mainly focuses around ae and pete, i do believe tum x tar and kla x no deserved more screen time, as viewers fell in love with the relationships between the characters, yet they didn't get much story to themselves.
the only thing i would complain about this series is the ending. its understandable though, as they were expecting to make a season 2 but now they're not so sure if that will happen. otherwise i can't stress enough how badly i wanted tin and can's ending to have continued.
that's barely in their control. otherwise, it has an incredible story and a loveable cast. if you're like me you'll stop every 5 minutes to breathe as you watch each episode.
