Relationships are toys and people only look good when they are already taken

I will say right now that episodes 4-6 are very boring and go nowhere. The first 3 episodes are chaotic, confusing, and often have cringe worthy awkward moments with the main male character being forced into things he doesn't want to do so finds the worst way to avoid them or make the situation worse. The core part of the series is the last 4 episodes. If the series had been only 7 episodes long and rid itself of the middle, I would have given it higher points.
There were no parts where I found the characters full of love or made me want to cry.

The series is mainly about two characters who don't to talk about anything so you get very little information about who they are as people. Kyoichi is a recluse college student leaving home for the first time. He is quiet and boring. As being a college boy he tends to turn his head and become obsessed with girls not as people but for their looks. In comes Surumi, a hot looking girl who he finds out is sneaking into his apt, spying on someone, and eating his food. Interest seems to only be in Kyoichi as soon as he is unavailable and is made unavailable because someone thought another girl was interested.
Surumi is a free spirit who is very bossy with no sense of personal space and seems to be obsessed with people as soon as she notices they have someone else. There may be more to her but if you quit the series too early, you never get to find out. She is constantly in and out of people's life more often than not causing a wave of problems and obsession behind her. Kyoko does a solid job bring out Surumi's character. The issue really is with Hideaki. I have watched at least 7 series with this actor and I have to say this character is just not interesting. I see really no personality in the character. His character is constantly being pushed around, obsessed, and awkward. The role doesn't seems to be on purpose but in the dialogue. I will note that his character does slightly improve towards the end of the series showing growth.

For interactions, I enjoyed the support characters more. The professor, police officer, antique owner, and bar owner had far better dialogue and connection.
If you can handle the slow and confusing progression towards to episode 7 you will find improvement in many of the main characters.
Watch this series if:
- You are not looking for characters who have genuine chemistry or love to their relationships
- Are interested in one sided relationships
-Like shows with predictable endings
-Want to watch the show for the actors in it
- Enjoy Korean Love Triangles (has a similar feel)

Do Not want this series if:
- You are looking for main character romance
- Are looking for a show with deep drama or comic relief
- Have no patience for slow and confusing story lines
