Emotions: Anger
I was going to give this a low rating when I became angry with the writers in the last two episodes. I mean crap, you have me focused for 16 episodes with everything that was good, loving, fighting, protection of others... and you do a left turn into traffic run a red light hit pedestrians. The Pedestrians would be those who are watching this KDrama. I mean WHYYYY??? WRITERS... why did you have to go there? I'm in tears not because of the Drama... I'm crying because you left me out in the rain with no jacket on and it's freezing. The two main leads who played the palace maid and the Crown Prince... Lee Jun Ho OMG, he is fine as he wanna be... them muscles, those abs... He was so convincing in this drama, a very skilled actor. Lee Se Young who played Sung Deok Im was also convincing when she was in her role. Right now, I am mad at the writers because I was going to give this a 10 just for keeping my focus, and you kicked my focused self to the curb. Was this review helpful to you?

Since this was in 2018 the technical visuals, at times you can see it was real, but that's okay because I just focused on the story. I loved the storyline. The martial arts, fantasy, visuals, the dragons, were all excellent. Thank you to everyone who participated in this drama.

The two main leads: Hu Yi Tian who played Wu Bai (DT) was tall and handsome for sure. When he was wearing that wedding suit OMG the muscles in his thighs showed through. I need to see more of this actor. He was believable and made the story seem real.
Li Yi Tong who played Dt. Appledog did a great job. She was also believable in her character! I love some of the outfits she wore. I felt this character was somewhat tomboyish. That is me!
So Glad that the Actor/Actress YangZi and Li Xian were brought back to get married. Yangzi is one of my top 10 favorite Chinese Actresses... so love her.

Yoo Seung Ho plays the character of Dong Baek who has telepathic by touch and Lee Se Young plays the Police Detective Han Sun Mi. I loved YSH in "I'm Not a Robot"! FINALLY! A drama without romance or a triangle love and not somebody fighting over who gets who! Too funny! This a story that is a DRAMA! I enjoyed every episode and didn't have to skip to the next one! Every episode had my focus. This is a rewatch! The main actors were true to their story and the supporting actors were great! Honestly, I didn't think it was going to end the way it did... you know that one part that you try to guess who the real criminal is and when you get to that part... IT'S LIKE "I didn't know that was coming"! DO NOT SKIP TO FIND OUT... You have to watch each episode... it's only 16 episodes so you can hold out! If you do... you will ruin the whole story for yourself. HA! Thank you, writers! I needed the suspense!

storyline: The storyline has its twists but it is continual in one thought. It is not so much revenge or avenging but for a person to take responsibility for what they have done. I wished everyone even those in corporate or government to take responsibility for what is intentional or not intentional. What I love about this is the diversity of actors and how it brings that diversity onto the screen. What I hate the most is discrimination against a person's skin tone, gender, age, disabilities, weight, height, the poor and middle class, and religion. The awareness is in this drama! I understand a little more as I couldn't stop thinking about this drama. For a minute, I was angered because I thought Park Seo Joon was killed off. That's what I get for not watching Ep 15-16.
I didn't understand and asked myself why Itaewon. Was that all true to what I was watching? I did some research and found this link on youtube. you should watch it which has changed my mind on how I rated it. I understand South Korea a little more. Itaewon is the only place in South Korea where you can feel Freedom and Diversity and that was explained in this drama but not as clear as I wanted. So here is the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OutGsIwEg5o It's in English so no need for subtitles.
It always comes down to a triangle romance in these dramas but were no females fighting so that is a good thing. I wanted Park Seo Joon's character to end up with Oh Soo Ah. The chemistry was not there for Park Seo Joon and Kim Da Mi. The kiss was there for Park Seo Joon but I'm sorry not for Kim Da Mi.

I only had one quip of the storyline and that is... listen... I know men will be men but dang mostly in every drama I have seen, only two dramas men were loyal to the woman they love. The flirting mentality of a man I ask why all the teasing and temptations of different women in front of them when the character already is committed to one? I would love to see a drama series more than ONCE that a man is loyal to Love such as 10 miles of Peach Blossom (Eternal Love) or Legend of Fu Yao! I would love to see this in "Joy of Life"! This is just my opinion.
I know Joy of Life will be a great hit and have seen that it has already started winning awards for that Thank you!

Not the ending I would've wanted!
So I rewatch this Kdrama again on 11/16/2019. I love Lee Joon Gi. The fight for the throne amongst the brothers when they started becoming adults was a steady game. Li Joon Gi played his part very well and the idea of having a scar on his face... he pulled it off with his acting abilities. Lee Joon Gi's martial arts was absolutely bad a__. Actually, his martial art was a 10 by itself. IU who plays Hae Soo was very emotional but she did well. The first time I watch this I just couldn't connect with her but this time I did connect with her. Now the storyline, I don't know what I was thinking when I first watch this. I wished this had a better ending and that is the reason why I brought it down to 8 stars. The story where Hae Soo married his younger brother and had a baby where did the time go that not unless that was Wang So's baby got me all confused and Wang So married that horrifying Woo Hee princess. That part didn't make any sense to me for like 3 episodes. I was not happy with the ending at all. Sorry to the screenwriter on that part. I do want to thank all the various teams for doing the best they could. The screenwriters did an alternate ending as I rated it low now it's back up to 10. This movie should've last longer
This movie should have lasted longer in my opinion. The storyline was just too short. I love both main characters. The ending was great! A life spared. I would've enjoyed this if they made this into a drama series. The visual effects were good for being 2 hours. The sword fighting was excellent. I need to view more of Chang Shen's movies. I watched this before I watched the first one. He has a lot of movies but some have not been released as of yet. Yang Mi I love so there is nothing I could say about her even when I didn't like the "Negotiator".Was this review helpful to you?
