A RomCom with too much Com and not enough Rom
This is pretty much the tale of how two stalkers fell in love with each other. Pi stalked Mork's best friend and Mork stalked him back, so basically a kids' version of Lost in the Cloud (if you know you know lol).I feel like this series had a few plot hooks that went nowhere, like that whole thing about Nan having problems at home or in the very last episode where he talks about having an impossible love. I saw in the comments on youtube that's a reference to the novel where Nan is in love with his step-brother or something... but if they weren't gonna develop into it, this should've never made it into the script in the first place. I guess they just didn't have enough budget for Mix to appear in every episode lol.
Now about Mork... this dude pissed me off so bad, he stepped all over Pi's boundaries over and over again. At some point he just found Pi's adress and started showing up at his door uninvited???? By the end of the series it was getting harder and harder to root for him. "You shouldn't care about what people say about you, just get off the internet for a while" idk man how about YOU stand up for the guy you promised to care for and protect??? GO KEEP YOUR CRAZY FANS IN CHECK!!!! he was so bold all the time, but bc he took pleasure in people calling them boyfriends, he allowed them to keep on with the craziness. I liked him way better at the beggining of the series bc i really enjoy the rivals to lovers trope where just one of them is the rival and the other is already a lover lol his teasing at the first few episodes was top tier.
Moving on... the secondary couple did the secondary couple's job PERFECTLY: distract the audience when the main couple was being insufferable (and in this show, that happened WAAAAY too often). I got so excited everytime i saw those two black bars showing up at the top/bottom of the screen bc it meant Dueanmeen moments were coming up!!! And btw Duean was a TOTAL SCENE STEALER in this series. He had the funniest lines and moments and his Duean vs. Narrator segments were HILARIOUS. Pi being in denial about liking Mork for 10 episodes meanwhile Duean quickly realizing he likes Meen bc Meen smiled so cutely it gave him a b0ner was PEAK secondary couple behavior LMAO. They always know how to get the show on the road and i don't think i'd be able to get through this whole series without them.
Even though this show relied a bit TOO MUCH on cringe humor and second-hand embarassment, it was really funny and it made me cackle more often than not. It's a solid watch if you want something you can just relax and enjoy mindlessly (and if you ignore the fact that Mork was only able to get together with Pi bc he wore him down like a 2010's sitcom protagonist. Ted Mosby and Leonard Hofstadter style lol.)

Was the script of this series written by ChatGPT?
The plot lost itself so many times it gave me total whiplash. The titlesake "kidnapping" only happens in the first 2 episodes and the second-last one. And then it became a mafia story. And then it became a beach romance. And then it was about Min becoming an actor... I feel like this series wanted to be so many things at the same time it ended up being absolutely nothing. It dragged on at some parts and it rushed others, like for example: I think the story moved on waaaaay too quickly from the fact that Min's best friend literally kidnaps people for ramson as a side hustle... with how easily he did it with Q it obviously wasn't his first time... and that fact never gets addressed again lol Q and him even become friends later on. Maybe this would have had benefitted from being a shorter 8 episodes series where it ends after Q chases Min down to the beach he moved to and they get back together ~ROLL CREDITS~.This series came in a very weird and experimental period for GMMTV BL, where they want to make more serious shows with darker storylines, but they just can't let go of the cheesy romcoms and soap opera writting they're so known for. It feels like like they're trying to do Kinnporsche when all they know how to do is Bad Buddy... but they can't even commit to the elements that made both of this series into classics in the first place.
But tbf... you could convince me to watch absolutely anything as long as Ohm Pawat was in it. He has such a natural chemistry with anyone that he acts alongside, both romantically and platonically. His brotherly relationship with Ohmtpk was really a highlight in this show, if you told me they were brothers irl i'd have believed you . Ohmtpk also had really great chemistry with Leng. Mhen being a sickly homeschooled boy he obviously didn't have many friends to spare, it made perfect sense in the story that someone as lonely as him would immediately bond with someone as lonely as Q and develop a deep friendship (also Ohmtpk is soooo good, i saw his minor role in Last Twilight and he absolutely killed it. Can't wait to see more from him, this boy is going places).
But i'm surprised to hear they will keep OhmLeng as a couple for future series, I thought they would be an one-series-only couple like all of Ohm's previous partners. Ohm has been coupled with phenomenal actors like Singto and Nanon, so Leng had big expectations to live up to on his debut and unfortunately he wasn't quite there yet and in a lot of moments in this show his acting felt very stiff. I think maybe this type of more cute and fragile character like Q doesn't really suit him bc he looked waaaay more promising as a gang leader in the trailer of Mu-Te-Luv and I'm really excited for that story.
I had originally given this series a 7.0 but then I realized I gave 6.5 to series who are waaaaay worse than this one so here, have more half a star (as a treat). The relationship amongst the characters and the chemistry amongst the cast (and Ohm Pawat's LETHAL face card) were just barely enough to save a series that could've been a total trainwreck. If they had deleted the entire mafia/kidnapping plot and made this series be just the story of a stuntman who dreams of becoming an actor as he cares for his sickly brother and a song writer who can never fully debut as a singer bc the public exposition would put him in danger due to his father's job as a police officer... it would honestly had been PHENOMENAL. It's time for GMMTV directors learn to not bite more than they can chew (they won't always have Ohm's insane eyebrow game to save their shows).

Not just a story about highschool romance, but also about friendship and memories.
Being in my 20's, I hardly ever watch stories about highschool romance anymore. The older I get, the less entertaining and relatable they become. For me to fully enjoy a story about teenagers, it has to give me very strong high school nostalgia... and that was EXACTLY what My School President did for me. In the last episode, during their last song and goodbyes, I was actually sobbing remembering my school days and my old high school gang. If like me, you're someone who has warm and fond memories of your high school days and your teenage years, this show is definitely for you!!!I went into this show bc I wanted to see some GeminiFourth before My Love Mix-up came out, just to check out their acting and lemme say... THERE COULDN'T HAVE BEEN A BETTER CASTING CHOICE FOR IDA AND AOKI THAN THESE TWO!!!!! NOW I'M MORE EXCITED THAN EVER FOR THIS SERIES!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
(P. S.: Fourth genuinely has one of the brightest smiles I've ever seen.)

A re-do of Fish Upon the Sky without all the things that made it funny and amusing
At least FUTS was able to get a few giggles out of me (and the fact that it's somewhat self-aware of how ass its plot and writing actually is helps it immensely with comedic time).I strongly dislike series with "white knight" love interests like Joke because they always give way more than their partners ever give back. Always makes the relationship feel extremely one-sided.
This series feels ANCIENT. It's so old-school i was actually shocked when i found out it was released in mid-2023.
If you came here from The Heart Killers, don't bother. Just wait for "Dare You to Death" next year. Seeing them in THK made me feel like this next series of theirs have immense potential.
