There's no real plot
Even tho the show is not over I'm over it. I got tired of it very quickly. I just keep watching for Fourth and Gemini.Fourth and Gemini did a great job with what they were given. They're great actors and I feel like their talent was wasted on this series.
It feels like mlmu was going for a sitcom vibe. Every episode had a different story and an ending of its own. Which is just completely the opposite of the manga and makes a mess. They also cut very important stuff or changed it which ruined the reasoning for the character to be the way they are and act the way they do.
For example Atom not getting involved with food was supposed to be because he got bullied when he was a little kid cause he was chubby. That explains why he has such low self esteem. But they changed it into his mother getting hurt which was so randon. If the accident caused scars on the mother's body it means it was very serious and probably traumatizing for little Atom but after he burned the chocolate he was back to his old self which is not how a traumatized person would react after such an experience. That could've been a good moment to let him talk to Kongthap and let Kongthap comfort him.
Also after Kongthap gets upset that Atom forgot about the university he wanted to go to, in the original manga, Atom tries his best to make it up to him and plans the entire trip including booking the hotel. Then Kongthap asks to talk to him about something and Atom is sure Kongthap is going to break up with him cause he always feels like he doesn't deserve him. They didn't show it in the series. So when Atom's mother tells Kongthap about Atoms fear of losing the ones he loves it doesn't hit the same cause we never saw his fear. She said he pretends to be strong and independent but he doesn't. That's the entire thing about Atom. He is a messy cute little fellow, that has no idea what he is doing. He needs others and needs their help.
Kongthap is a simple character so they couldn't mess him up too much. But they failed to show his humanity. Kongthap was studying hard in order to make sure he gets into the university so he and Atom could be together. He didn't rest while Atom studies. That shows how much he loves and cares for Atom.
They cut parts of him being protective and possessive over Atom. Him being jealous that Atom is studying with his cram school teacher and asking Atom to study with him instead. Or even a sweet moment like when Atom hugs him in the hotel. Kongthap asks him to stop hugging him cause it makes him feel things. Atom breaks the hug straight away in panic.
There were moments in the bts that were better if included in the episode but for some reason got cut. Like Atom worrying about Kongthap when he passed out which I don't understand why they cut it out.
And let's not talk about the wasted musical episode which was so unnecessary. The manga is long enough and considering how many parts they cut, they could've used that time for something better. I love the songs but I still think it was a waste of time for the series.
That's about the plot. Now lets talk about the terrible directing that made both Fourth and Gemini look bad. I don't know who thought that getting a camera right in their faces was the right way to go. Or filming from weird angles. And the amount of time that they had their eyes almost completely shut because of the sun so you can't see any emotion whatsoever and they can hardly look at eo cause the sun is burning their eyes. And the terrible editing, sound effects that were too much and the brightening filter that made everything seem so unnatural.
I hope they get a better series next year. A one where they can showcase their acting skills better. A more serious one. A better written one, better directed and better all over.
That's it. That's all I have to say.
Edit after ep 12: this ep was worse than everything before. We clearly saw Atom's mother accepting Kongthap last ep just to get Atom coming out to her in this one. Explain. Also they tried to make her a mean parent only for this ep which made 100% no sense cause she was always caring. When Atom got sick she didn't tell him it's his fault for staying up all night. She isn't a harsh parent so wtf is this nonsense
of her telling her son to basically not be a loser. But surprisingly enough (or maybe not so surprisingly because I know his true abilities) Fourth made the coming out scene so emotional even tho it made no sense. His raw emotions and his shaking voice had me in tears. His and Gemini's acting are the only good thing about this show.

I thought I could never be so disappointed again.
I waited for this show and was excited for Ding Yu Xi. I had no high expectations or anything like that but the first episode was already so bad. I kept hoping that it'll get better but it didn't.My main problems:
The script: The script is a mess. The whole "it's Binbin's fault" is so annoying. It's not his fault that he got knocked out and his gun got stolen. He can't protect himself or his gun when he is unconscious! That's so dumb.
Xing being a completely asshole and an idiot and then the script tries to justify it and say that he does a lot of good with a forced scene with his brother. 'Even tho his salary is small he still lends money to ppl in need' 🙄😒 His wife is rich af. His house is big af. He isn't lacking money. It's nothing for him and the fact that ppl do charity work doesn't change them from being assholes and act like jerks to a boy that lost his father and feels so guilty and ashamed at an accident. Which I repeat IS SOMETHING THAT WAS OUT OF HIS CONTROL!
It isn't consistent at all. Binbin is saying 'I'm not gonna contact you again' just to contact them a second later. I can't take his anger seriously when he is acting like nothing happened a second after.
Lots of emotional moments were rushed that I couldn't feel anything for the characters cuz Idk them well enough.
Also some basic things like the police not waiting outside the location of the killer. Like wtf? He escaped through the window or back doors before. Three times he got away cause no one was waiting outside the building. WAIT OUTSIDE! WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?
I can keep going forever about the ridiculous knocking Binbin out when he is angry (in a scene that wasn't bad and Ding showed the frustration of his character so well) just so Bao can make up with him. And on and on. It's just a mess.
Acting and Casting: I can never be convinced that Xing and his wife are husband and wife. Terrible chemistry. She's too pretty and young compare to him. They're supposed to be around the same age. They knew e/o when they were young. The actors have 14y difference. It just doesn't work.
Ning Li did not convince me that Xing is actually a good guy. He hates Binbin and it's obvious. That's the end of it. There's no tough love. There's only hatred in his heart, voice and eyes.
Bao's dialect is so forced.
Only good things from the main cast are Ding Yu Xi, Fei Li Qi, Xu Hong Hao.
Fight Choreography and Directing: The camera work is good but besides of that it's bad. Just bad. Some moments are better but the knocking out scene and even a simple moment of Bao being angry and making Binbin sit back down when both are emotional and Binbin is breaking down. It feels so forced.
I can go on and on and I didn't even finish this show.
In short, it's bad. I wouldn't recommend, unless you want to scream at your screen with frustration. I'm so disappointed cause I was excited to see Ding in a police drama but this is a mess.

It feels like they didn't expect to do a second season and used everything on the first
I think they gave everything interesting they could think of in the first season, that everything they were left with is a bit dry in comparison.Script: It's not that it's bad, it's just that S1 was filled with explanation of how Shenyi does what he does, that in this S it's not that special or unique. He draws from blurry images or a covered face caught in security cameras and skulls but it doesn't feel as good as it felt in the S1.
I personally think they didn't do themselves justice with putting the first case as the first case. It's so beautifully written and done on the psychology of the characters and it's so complicated that you don't know who to root for. Even when you tell yourself the law is the law you keep wondering if it's fair. Also the murder method was so interesting and difficult to figure out. Everything after that falls short because of how good it was.
It feels a bit random at times even tho the cases are interesting. Like Li Han's story is so real and well written on the psychological part. I could see myself in her, being lost and afraid, but it felt out of place. We didn't get to see her a lot before so we didn't see any signs that her character is going through some things.
I'm wondering what they're gonna do with the girl in the red dress part of the plot and the weird stranger (Fang Kai Yi). If it gets messed up then I'll be disappointed cause Tan Jian Ci is a great actor and can deliver, guilt, losing oneself to ego and playing g0d, so well. We already saw a glimpse of it in one of his conversations with Du Cheng.
Acting is good:
I think Tan Jian Ci is a great actor. Really good in emotional scenes but just as good with sassy moments.
I hoped Jin Shi Jia will change a bit and have more charisma. He is good with the emotional parts but when it comes to giving orders or just standing there, he looks like a child that doesn't know what to do with his hands.
Zhu Jia Qi is great. All the product placements fell on his shoulders and he was so natural. He is so good in that role it feels like he is Jiang Feng.
Lu Yan Qi did so well with her story. Better than I expected.
Overall the acting is good. All supporting actors did well. All the guest ones did well.
Directing and Fight choreography is good.
Editing is a bit harsh on the eyes. Color grading-color correction is too bright when you look at windows at day time.
Overall, I'm satisfied with it. I didn't expect anything more cause I felt like it'll be hard to match S1. I might add to my review when the show is finished (English isn't my first language so sorry for any typos or grammar mistakes)

I wouldn't say it's the best kdrama of the year but it's a really good one
Story: I think the entire punish the sinner thing is dumb. But the rest of the stories and the rest of the plot was good. There were a few moments I felt like were rushed. Bael felt forced. But overall it was good. It felt like they wanted to put and do a lot of things but didn't have the time for it.Acting: Everyone did a great job and Park Shin Hye was incredible! She delivered the emotions and the charisma of the character perfectly. Also Kim Jae Young did an incredible job. Their chemistry together was insane. They really complement eo.
I do have a problem but it's not with the acting as much as it's with the casting. Many of the actors looked like their characters' real self. What I mean is that I could tell if they were a bad guy or a guy that did bad things out of fear. Like no surprises but it's not because the story is lacking but just because I get what they are from their looks.
Directing: Good! The ferris wheel scene was so beautiful.
Editing: The image of the broken leg and finger was so fake it hurts. The flying from the slap or just flying in general was so bad. I felt like I could see the wires (but Idk if it's editing or smt they should've fixed when filming), same with the falling of the cliff.
Choreography: Fun. I enjoyed the fight scenes. The actors sold it and it's impressive to watch the bts.
Overall it's good.

Really good writing going into waste
The plot is good. From what I can tell by now anyway. The script is really good imo. I really like it it's just that I had a problem with how they executed the comedy (it's not exactly comedy as much as sarcastic humour) part. Even tho it was written well the actors couldn't pull it off. They were too intense. Also the aspect ratio (I think that's how you call it) makes the series look so intense that when they have a soft or just a relaxing moment it doesn't feel relaxing.Acting is so stiff. Ohm is good (duh) but sometimes too intense that you feel like serious Min is a different Min from the regular Min. Iygwim. Leng is a beginner and he really did his best but imo beginners need easier or side roles as a first role so they get comfortable in front of the camera. He is good at the anger and kinda at the fear but failed with the sassy part of his character. His character acts like a spoiled brat but he can't pull it off which kinda ruins the balance carefully written for the character.
Editing is a mess. Why did they put a romantic background music when Min tells Q to not trust anyone? That literally doesn't make sense. As soon as Min headlocks Q there should be an intense, scary music not a romantic one. This is the moment that I decided to drop the show.
Another thing that bothered me so much was how bright it was even in intense moments. I couldn't get into the story at all cause it's so bright so I don't get scared or worried about the character. It's just like how you won't be scared to watch a scary movie at daytime compare to nighttime.
I went into it not expecting much so I'm not like extremely disappointed or anything. I just dropped it cause of the stuff I listed above.
