I think the story is different. There's many dramas and movies about mermaids but this story is different it's a big fish but not a other mermaid story. I just like the idea that it's about a giant fish it's not something I've seen before so the idea is great. Also heroine is great although it's as expected that she would obviously be scared or surprise at first but she's not cowardly or weak which is a plus.The story has a twist so it's something to look forward to. As you watch the show you may have many questions and maybe confused about what are the character but it would be explained very clearly near the end of the movie.
I think it should be a drama instead of a movie. It just felt so rushed, there's no time for development. However overall it's quiet fun to watch.

Extreme slow pace, predictable and boring
Honestly wanted to like this show but it was so slow, predictable and boring. There's nothing new about the drama and the way this drama is filmed. I can tell you what happens next before I even watch the next episode.Your classic cold cool guy but actually nice.
Cute energetic girl that's protected by male lead.
Support role is also predictable as usual. Male support fancy the main girl and female support fancy the main guy. Female support role is again the classic annoying, selfish, frustrating character that you want to slap.
It takes longer than half the series to see the 2 character actually be honest to each other. Meanwhile viewers are left frustrated by the way they're acting and pretending to not have feelings for each other.
I watched the first 3 episode at normal speed then watched the next 15ep in 2X speed. I skipped through the video for the last few episodes. It was seriously so very boring. I however do like the actor and actress. Have nothing against them and will watch their shows in the future but this show is just seriously boring for me.
I'm shocked that there's so many reviews here with people saying they like the show. Maybe they haven't seen very many dramas.
I think I'm just very picky or I've seen too many drama I can't even count so this show is just a repeat of all the other drama that goes by the same boring format

10/10 watch value
This show is 10/10 worth watching. Obviously nothing is perfect and there will be parts everyone like or dislike or frustrated but it's 10/10 worth your time to give it a watch.Female lead has the innocent, clumsy, weak characteristic but also very strong, powerful and assertive. You may ask how? That's what makes the show great because the character has it all. Male lead is also not written as indestructible type that lucks out in everything so it does keep you guessing what's going to happen to him.
The story of both male and female leads background and character is interesting. Most drama has male lead making the move on female lead but this show isn't just like that so it's a great change. Kiss scene are not stupid it's believable. I think we all know what I mean by that when I say stupid. So the acting is great.

Very worth watching
I give this a 10 out of 10 for the category of short drama. In such a short time the drama is great. Has a great storyline and the main characters are great. These actors are not well known actors but I don't think their acting is lacking. FL very pretty ML quiet handsome too. No time wasting fillers just go go go. I definitely think if you're looking for a romcom Chinese costume drama but don't want long drag story and time wasting fillers then this is what you're looking for.In most drama they love to go overboard with the ML being rich, good looking smart and everything. This story is also about rich or high power family but it doesn't brag about it and it or focus on that. FL is not your I'm so pretty but weak need protection, good girl type. She has strong character personality and is very bold straight forward character.

This show really is 10/10 worthy. Keeps you interested every episode. I think the curiosity is there constantly because we want to know the backstory of the characters and why they are the way they are. The journey and growth and how they're healing from their pain and past was very well written.The visual is no jokes we have 2 very very beautiful actor/actress. The fashion is just eyecandy overload. The OST is also a masterpiece. You know a good drama when you hear the OST it's honestly amazing.
Best of all is the story idea, it's very different from any other. One character being a carer in a mental hospital and another is a book author. We're not seeing the boring same old rich, hot & smart guy and weak poor pretty girl that gets protected by male lead kind of story. Both character are very real and their struggles are relatable. The 2 leads are very equal in helping each other through.
It's a must watch!

I also think the ending part should be at least 1 full episode.
The last episode was still the leads trying to resolve some issue and the ending ending was done in like 15-20min.
So some episodes felt like there's fillers to fill the time because they wanted to end it at 36 instead of actually needing 36 episode. I think it would have been much better if problems were all resolved in the episode before the last and just give us the last episode of the ending like what happens with the character after they resolved their issue. I'm trying to write this without putting in any spoilers It's quiet difficult to explain without actually mentioning some spoilers .

Ending is Mehh..
Story, visual & acting is all really good but the ending was soooooo very meh..It's confusing you have no idea what's going on. You're left guessing and assuming things.
The ending of the story wrap up in the last 15min of the last episode. So it truly is really bad for a good show.
I give it a 7 because the ending was really bad but all up until the ending last 15min of the drama it was good.
So if you are someone who can watching something good and don't mind getting super disappointed for the ending then this is for you. haha

Must watch if you like romance jdrama
For 8 episodes it's amazing drama.Acting is quiet good, female lead does always look a bit surprise face but it's ok.
Has a great story. Lots of romantic scenes if you like that.
For live action adaption this is a really good one. Sometimes live action adaptions are bit strange, especially if you've read the manga or novel.
It wraps up well. no time wasting. The rating I gave is 9/10 for it is a short drama.
The pacing of each episode is good. Again it only has 8 episodes and I think it didn't need more and I wouldn't go less.
Definitely worth watching. Even if you don't think it's that great it is only 8 episodes of your time.

Worth a watch.
Since it's a short drama I'll give it 10/10 for everything. I think it's difficult to judge it comparing to standard length drama. So for a time limited length short drama it's really great.It has a feel of goblin. Definitely understand what I mean from just episode 1. Also has reference to goblin too. I like that drama and I like this one too. This one is a really short drama where as goblin is full length. I think if you liked goblin which I think everyone who seen it does then you'll like this one too. The ending however just felt like end of a episode not really ending of drama. So it was a little strange how it ended just like that. Didn't even feel like it was the last episode last scene at all. If you do watch it you know what I mean. Korean drama don't usually do season 2 so I don't think there will ever be more. But overall great especially it's a short drama so no reason not to watch.

FUNNY EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH!
Zhao Lu Si (female lead) is very funny. I just love her acting this type of character so definitely you'll enjoy the comedy.To my surprise Ding Yu Xi (male lead) is funny too. I wasn't expecting very much so I thought maybe it's one of those cool cold male lead the usual stuff. But his character was fun too so that's a plus. I also like how you can say the villain character not sure if you can call the character villain but yeah. The troublesome character isn't so annoying like the other shows. I think it's just right. Most of the time I get overly frustrated by the villains and it's just too over the top triggering annoying but I'm happy with how this show has it.
I think the concept of characters entering their own story, into another dimension or worlds is so common but I definitely think this is one of the best show in that category.
I think the length of the show is just right. Most shows are just way too long but this show I wish it was longer but it's just right. There will also be a 2nd season which is already confirmed to have the same cast. I don't have high hopes for 2nd season because usually 2nd season always sucks but fingers cross!!!!

It's a really good watch. The length and pace of story development is great.
It talks about difficulty of surviving in the work force/society as a 30 year old female, one's pride and search for perfect/materialistic approach vs love. also the idea of pet/animal is better than human company.
I think the length of this show is perfect. 16 episode is a really good middle length.
The usual 11 is way too short for my liking.
I usually judge a show pretty harshly and there's not many I like. I've watched Jdrama, Kdrama, Cdrama you name it and this one on the top of my Rom-Com list.
It's a light hearted warm drama and it delivers that. If you watch it for what it is and don't judge it with all the real life logic and common sense then it's a really good adaption.
