Worth Rewatching
I enjoyed this drama more than I thought I would. The opening scene grabbed my attention to keep watching and to see what was going to happen next. A big thank you to the cast, crew, costume, directors, and writers. The supporting cast also did a great job. Uncle Zhou was so lovable.I thought Ethan Juan and Yang Mi did an outstanding job in portraying their characters and had great chemistry. Ethan’s acting was exceptional especially his emotions and action scenes throughout the story. This is the first time I've watched Ethan Juan in a film, he is quite attractive and has great facial expressions. One couldn't tell if he was going to kiss Fuyao or do something else, what a tease. He has a great body so thank you directors for letting the viewer enjoy his incredible physique. Actors work very hard to keep in shape and to be able to show off their great-looking physique is a motivation for them to keep in shape. I enjoyed it when he was pretending to be an idiot, he made me chuckle. The interaction between Yuan Bao and Wuji was spontaneous and the cutest. The hamster was really intelligent with special talents. Yang Mi was great as usual. I’m impressed that she was able to do all of the physical movements. She did a great job, especially in portraying a cursed evil demon at the end. Ethan Juan and Yang Mi work very hard in the martial arts and physical action scenes, and they did a phenomenal job.
The scenes were just right with the right amount of flashbacks. The writers and directors did well in taking the viewers through the five kingdoms. It's not often that I watch dramas with 66 episodes without skipping a few. The storyline moved along in the right amount so I did watch all episodes. I'm in the process of re-watching this drama to catch what I missed the first time around. This drama is now on my all-time favorite to-watch list.

Drama worth watching
I watched this drama three times over the last couple of years and it is one of my favorites. I thought the director did a good job of connecting the multiple scenarios. Parts of the story were humorous, parts were sad, and parts were unexpected which gave the story a nice touch to keep you interested. Thought the director could have done a better job in the last episode ending. The actors and actresses did a good job of portraying their characters. Yun Qian Yue overdid the ranting and whining which was annoying. Rong Jing was able to show a more human side of himself that wasn't shown in the beginning. ML and FL had good chemistry, good match in age, and nice looking. In my opinion, this is Tong Meng Shi's best role and character he's done.

Drama was a big disappointment.
I had high hopes and looked forward to watching this drama because the Official Trailer used to advertise the drama looked exciting, however, I watched a little more hoping for something interesting would happen, but I was so disappointed with the opening through the third episode that I stopped watching. The story was too slow moving with nothing happening to keep my interest. I like watching Xing Zhao Lin in his other dramas but this drama didn't help his career as an actor. I may give this film another try, later on, to see if it may spark my interest. Was this review helpful to you?
