Good Remake of a popular story.
Although this film is a remake of films like groundhog day, I felt the directors did a decent job of the remake.Chen Feiyu is a very good actor and now that he's graduated from the Beijing Film Academy I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of him. I thought he also did a great job in Ever Night and Lighter and Princess. Many of the films he's in have a good opening that makes you want to keep watching. I'm glad he has the courage to take on different roles and characters. He's very fortunate to have parents in the film and entertainment business. His private life is his own business and non of anyone else's. Actors are human beings; viewers should appreciate the work and the efforts to bring people enjoyment and entertainment.

Good Action and Romance
I thought the chemistry between the main male and female leads was good and they looked good together. The main actors also did a commendable job of portraying their characters' personality changes. The costumes were nice and not cheap looking. It also looks like a lot of money was spent on the buildings and sets. However, I do believe that the drama could have been more concise as there were too many events introduced without enough time for viewers to process them. This film is worth watching.
This drama kept my attention from the first to the last episode. This drama is not for the weak goodie two-shoe person. All of the actors and actresses portrayed their characters very well. The story was suspenseful throughout the drama. What was good about the story was that it kept you guessing and wondering what was next, who would survive, and who wasn't. Wang Yibo did an exceptional job in his role. Lin Qin is always great, she is one of my two favorite actresses. This is my first time seeing Wang Yang and he was also very impressive. Zhang Tian-Yang portrayed the bad “good” person so well that the good viewers couldn’t wait to get rid of him. The story also gave the viewers an idea of how the communist-Soviet Union got started and the selling points of why communism was necessary for the masses at that time.Was this review helpful to you?
All Time Favorite Drama
This is my all-time favorite Chinese drama. Few stories are well and brilliantly and cleverly written, well directed, and well-acted by the main actors and actresses. Although it’s an older film, the story is filled with intrigue from the beginning to the end. Perhaps some of the scenes were unrealistic, but that’s why this is a drama. This drama has a complete package of fighting action, romance, good settings, and plot, keeps your attention, villains, good artistry, good opening and ending, elegant costumes, good music especially Tower of Tears, highly rewatchable in parts or whole, and more.This is one of those rare dramas where both male and female leads are strategists always sacrificing themselves to find win-win outcomes in critical situations. The chemistry between Wallace Chung and Angela Baby is awesome and well-suited. I’ve watched other films by Wallace Chung and this is his best performance. He worked hard in the action scenes and leaves nothing to be desired as a lover. This is also Angela Baby's best performance because she was able to portray a beautiful mature woman.

Firefighting is a thankless job. I admire firefighters' courage to do what they do.
Many have negatively criticized this film, but how do they know what the actors were asked to do? I think the main leads did a pretty good job of portraying their character. I thought the story moved along at a nice pace with enough action to keep one entertained. I enjoyed the film and thought the fire scenes were realistic. This is Wang Chu Ran's second film as a doctor and she is really stiff and unapproachable, but again who knows what the script calls for. If you want to see actors and actresses in their natural personalities and out of script watch them on variety shows. Most of them appear very different from the films. Overall, I enjoyed the film and that's entertainment!Was this review helpful to you?
Would like to see a season 2 for this movie
Enjoyed the movie and hoping for a season 2 to continue the relationship of the two main leads. The female and male leads were perfect for this story. The tragedy between the two male leads was unexpected. After 15 years of being apart, do they get back together or does the story go in a different direction? First time I've seen really serious kissing in a Chinese film from the main leads.Was this review helpful to you?

The egg has got to go!
I liked the story and would have given it a point higher if it weren't for that ridiculous egg. The acting was fair and the events were entertaining enough to watch the whole movie. After a while, rewatch would be okay because it had enough intrigue, suspense, and humor throughout the story. The wardrobes were passable, nothing flashy or elegant. The egg was the spoiler that turned those scenes into a cartoon. What were the writers thinking??Was this review helpful to you?
Worthy of a rewatch.
This film has all of the elements of a good movie. The opening was suspenseful, and had high energy, with a little bit of a thriller. The main leads and some of the supporting cast portrayed their characters very well. The story has a nice flow without overshowing the backstories. The ending was unexpected but it put your heart to rest. I plan to rewatch this drama in the near future to pick up on what I missed the first time.I think there is some resemblance in the features and mannerisms of Wang Xing Yue and Zhao YingBo. Both of them portray their characters well. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do in their future roles.

Suspenseful, action, and romance helped to make this movie worth watching.
There were ample suspense, action, and romance scenes to keep the story moving and interesting. The story has a good beginning that piques the viewer's interest to see what will happen in the next event. The acting of the main leads and supporting actors was good enough considering what they had to work with. The main male lead's consent intimacy with the female lead has you wondering if he was taking advantage of the female lead or if he had feelings for her.Jesse Ren's features resemble a younger Liu Yuning and could pass for Yuning's younger brother. It is evident that this is a low-budget film, and the cast had to work hard to keep the viewers' interest. Compared to other low-budget films, at least this film didn't have annoying background singing and unbearable sound and acoustics.

Better than Expected
The storyline was good with enough changes and suspense to keep you interested. Good script and a good opening, and I look forward to seeing more of Chu De Jian’s work. Didn’t expect that the aunt was the culprit, which was hidden well in the story. Also didn’t expect Yan Yi’s mother would still be alive, a couple of flashbacks leading up to it would have made the story more mysterious. Also couldn’t understand how Yan Yi lost his position in the corporation. A better job could have been done leading up to it.Fan Zhixin did a good job of portraying his character. This is the first film I've seen him in and would like to see him do more films as an ML.

Tencent requires additional payment to watch after episodes 10 of the drama.
What I've watched so far has been interesting enough to keep watching to see what happens at the end. I like the main leads, they play their roles well. The wardrobes do not change much and is ok for this era. I like the intrigue and suspense of the story. I'll have to wait until the rest of the drama is available for viewing without cost. I disagree that as a subscriber to Tencent additional cost is required to see the rest of the drama.Was this review helpful to you?
Drama Worth Watching
Although this film was made in 2013, in comparison to 2022 films, it was done very well. So far, I thought the film was well-directed and the pace of most of the scenes was about right. Great story, good action, not too many flashbacks, good transitions into the next event, and enough suspense and turn of events to keep you watching for the next episode. I’m glad the film did not have an over-talkative or idiot character. The wardrobe for both males and females was nice using good fabric and colors. I will look for other films by director Chung Shu Kai.I thought the villains weren't too bad at portraying their characters. The more films I watch with Feng Shao Feng as the main lead, the more I like his acting.
I almost did not want to finish watching this drama because after episode 30 it looked like everything was going downhill. I had to remind myself that this was only a movie so I could finish the drama. I'm guessing that the ending is not going to be a happy one.

Disappointed in the Drama
I was looking forward to watching this drama only to be disappointed. The main Female Actress Ruins the drama for me. This is my second attempt to watch this drama because Yu Shu Xin’s voice is irritating and quite annoying. She seems to perform the same childish performance in her other roles and films. Every time she opens her mouth, it makes me cringe. I’m curious how she’s able to land lead roles. Li Yi Tong would have been a better fairy because she can portray an annoying person without being childish. I feel sorry for Dylan that he has to act with an ungroomed and untrained actress. It doesn’t seem like he’s putting much effort into this drama as with the other dramas he’s done. Can’t blame him. Although the drama had a weak start the storyline and script got better and more interesting after episode 15 but it still could use some improvements. The special effects were ok. I’m not sure if I’ll have the patience to finish this drama.Was this review helpful to you?
Story could have been condensed to move the storyline along.
I watched this drama because I’m a fan of Liu Shi Shi. She is a great actress. Although the story was somewhat boring and draggy she portrayed her character well to keep me interested to see what she would do in the following episodes. She can change her personality and expressions to fit her role. I watched A Journey to Love and Lost Love in Times and loved her in both films. I didn't notice any of her behavior and actions from those films in this film, making her a great actress. She is a different person with different personalities in her films where some actresses and actors use the same facial expressions and behavior in all of their films.I first watched Tong Dawei in the film The Centimeter of Love. His demeanor is about the same in that film and this film.
Overall, I felt that this drama was somewhat boring with some scenes having meaningless conversations. This story lacks humor and the chance to see the main leads looking outstanding in a crowd.
I hope that there is a twist to the story towards the end so that I don’t feel that I wasted my time watching this drama.

Drama worth a rewatch
This drama has a lot of depth to it and good flashbacks. Although the story did not end on a good note, if that's the way the story was written they had to follow the author's work. The acting of the main leads was phenomenal. They had good chemistry together. They displayed in-depth emotions and made you feel the anguish, pain, and suffering they were experiencing. Their delivery of the humourous parts was also good. I liked the wardrobes especially the collars of the wardrobes. It looks like a lot of money was spent on building the sets and on locations. Peng Xiaoran is one of my two favorite actresses. She's very pretty and makes her ML look good. She tends to favor costume dramas and I hope to see her in a modern drama.Was this review helpful to you?
