About the OwnerHello, my name is Aeysa (they/them). I am a 19-year-old university student majoring in Media and Communications with a Japanese Language and Culture minor. I can speak English, German, Uyghur, and Japanese, as well as some Korean, Chinese, Turkish, and French. Theoretically, I am also "fluent" in Latin and Ancient Greek, although that has never really proven useful. I am planning on refreshing my Japanese, as well as getting better at Korean and maybe learning some Indonesian, Malaysian, and Thai. In my free time, I draw and paint, write stories, watch movies, shows, and dramas, listen to music, read, cook and bake, play video games (currently mainly Genshin Impact), and subtitle dramas on Viki. If you enjoyed your stay at MDL café, please leave a nice review for us on Yelp. Below you can find the explanation of the scaling system we use. Ratings from 1-3 can be considered bad, 4-6 can be considered average, 7-9 is good, and 10 is great. 10 - Something that stuck with me even long after I finished watching it and that elicits a physical response whenever I just think of it, whether that might be a smile or even shedding a tear. I could rewatch this daily and still love it the same as on the first watch. 9 - I loved this while I watched it and I probably even watched it all in one go or highly anticipated every new episode. But in the end, I somehow felt like it was still lacking something, whether that might be that the very end was a little dissatisfying or some plot device wasn't used to its fullest potential. I would still recommend it to pretty much anyone, though. 8 - This drama/movie is still very good but not to the point where I'd go around raving about it or recommending it to absolutely everyone I know. It has some flaws when I think of it in retrospect but nothing so glaringly obvious that took away from my enjoyment while watching it. 7 - I enjoyed it but I could see the flaws already while watching it, which probably impacted my viewing experience a bit. You probably also need some acquired taste to like it but if you have it, you will definitely enjoy it a decent amount. 6 - It was okay. It wasn't offensive or upsetting to watch but it also didn't blow my mind. I'd probably still rewatch it with a friend if they really wanted me to but I personally don't really care for it. 5 - It's average. Whether you'd like it or not heavily depends on your personal preference but my view of it is relatively neutral. 4 - I most likely enjoyed some aspect of it like the general idea or concept, some of the characters and their portrayal, or the cinematography and directing. However, it wasn't enough to keep me invested in the show, and overall the boring and bad parts just outweighed the good ones. 3 - It's pretty bad but not remarkably bad. I couldn't write a 20-page essay about the pitfalls of this drama/movie because I probably don't even remember it anymore besides the fact that I thought it was bad. 2 - I would probably still recommend this to my worst enemy but even then I'd feel a little guilty. 1 - I'd rather die than watch a single second of this movie or drama again. If I ever showed this to anyone, it would be for torture only. | |||
