Just ok

This drama is about a girl (cheng shaoshang) who never experienced true love and always feel abandoned turns out to be an extremely smart, sassy, stubborn, seek revenge when others betrays/messes with her, heroic individual. She has grown to be more mature through time. To elaborate on how unique she is, they have somehow got her engaged 3 times in the story. The first half of the story shows how her life is at home, 2nd half is her being involved in the imperial palace.

I have watched this drama because of the high rating 9/10. I honestly think this is an average drama. I enjoyed the first half of the drama but towards the end around 45 is when I just skipped through scenes. I think Leo Wu is an exceptional good actor, Zhao Lu Si is better than most average actors but I don't think she's the best (her heroic scenes are a bit laughable, she should just stick to comedy, she did great in emotional scenes though). There are various flaws in the drama, Lou Ben is a smart manipulative guy but how did he managed to accidentally spill that the other family died when he ran away with shaoshang's dad? When Lou Ben's wife trapped everyone in the dungeon, can't someone just go knock her down, while shes going through her lifestory of sorrows? esp when they know shes going to start a fire, instead everyone just watch her burn down the place. Everyone's wardrobe during the fire scenes are intacted and brand new except a few black smudges on their face. I do not believe Buyi can escape that fire in a few seconds. Important scenes are not shown of how Shaoshang's father was found, they spent like a few eps showing everyone finding him thats the least they could've done show how he was found in at least a few mins. They are so focused on making Shaoshang look heroic that they have her order her family around during the fire scene which is disrespectful esp her parents! I know Shaoshang suffered through 5 years of sadness for feeling betrayed, but why must all of us suffer through 5 extra eps of boredom from bringing back unnecessary villiams like Jitiang and Lou ben's wife? If this drama wraps up nicely and stops at around 45, I would've enjoyed it better. I think the ending should've been when shaoshang's family all got married, leaving one final eps after that for shaoshang to be married to Buyi and CUT!

Overrated, nothing special, very dull

I kept on forcing myself to watch more of this drama because of the high rating.. finally going to drop it at 30/36. The story is nothing special just over repeat of any other drama.

Bai lu acting sucks in this one, maybe shes forced to be expressionless because she can not cry but these scenes that is shown shouldve been more emotional. I think she is more suited to play tomboys like her previous role. 2nd lead female is annoying trying to be cute but not exactly for me. Du Lei likes bai lu but not sure for what reason they barely have any encounters that is sweet enough to make him fall for her. There is no build up showing this. Linda acting is horrible...

Theres a lot of kisses in this drama so i guess it is sweet but no build up in chemistry.. this is just very dull drama for me.

Too short

I was excited when this drama came out and watched it just because of Xu Kai. I enjoyed almost all of his other dramas so my expectation was quite high with this one, but got to say this is probably the worst TV series of his. Xu Kai did an excellent job with his acting in this drama however it is not his fault for the crappy script. The story started off great with humans vs dragon clan, and him being a half breed, being in the middle of a war. They spent a lot of time developing the characters and going over their past. That is the first 25 episodes. Then wind everything up in the last few episodes which was a bit rushed. The pacing is just really off. If it has to be 28 eps, I rather the story being more focused on the ending then wasting so much time on 2nd ML/FL(princess and Feng Ming). Also the FL keeps on throwing that innocent pouty look, and shes supposed to be powerful? I like her snappy attitude better in Arsenal Military Academy. Her character doesn't really portrait a saintess whos trying to protect her clan.

Mediocre slow paced drama focused on coding and revenge

This drama is highly rated so I decided to give it a chance. It is focused on the relationships between Li Xun, Zhu Yun, Lao Gao who met in college. The beginning started off with Li Xun being released from prison, the next 23 eps goes back in time of how these three have met and build up of their relationship. There are sweet moments between Li Xun and Zhu Yun, and also the bitter relationship between Li Xun and Lao Gao. The drama itself is very slow paced, although I did enjoy some of the sweet moments, I felt it has dragged for finally when there are some action on eps 23+. This section is focused on how Li Xun build himself up from after prison to get revenge. I still end up skipping a lot of scenes as it is draggy. Overall, romance and revenge is sweet on some parts, but can't make up for the drama being draggy.

Li Xun is handsome but his acting is dull (in fact not just this one, I seen about 3 dramas from this actor already), maybe the drama would've been more enjoyable with a better actor.. Zhu Yun does portray her character pretty well. Lao Gao face is just hateable, I guess that means he did his part for the drama?

Great story bad fighting

This series is enjoyable seeing the struggles that students have to go through drugs, gang, money issues, bullying, etc. Peter Ho did a great job with his acting and some scenes could get emotional and dramatic. The rating could be higher if the fighting was better. Some scenes look so fake you could tell the punch is staged. Also some of the students acting is not too convincing, they are
fairly new actors. I am also not a big fan of the female cop found her a but irritating and a bad ass wanna be

Dull towards last 1/3

This drama is another youth drama that focus on friendship amongst close friends during their high school years. They bring back a lot of memories for me as I can relate. It has a strong start however towards the end it gets really draggy. I got annoyed with the moms loud voice and the grandma is no longer cute. There's way too many episodes on her memory lost. It actually felt themeless towards the end to me. I guess main theme is friendship and not much of chemistry/romance. If you have nothing else to watch, then I guess you can check it out otherwise theres so many other better young dramas out there

Wuxia classic

This is another remake of the legend of the condor heroes. I really enjoyed the story of this classic, and the actors in the series done a wonderful job portraying this. They have also kept the original theme song for this series. The fighting is also not bad itself. If you have not seen any of the versions, this may be a good start since the other versions are much older and CGI/graphic maybe outdated. However the older versions especially the original Hong Kong version probably does have the best fighting but this is tolerable.

Confused on the high ratings

This drama has been surprisingly highly rated and I am a bit confused on what aspect. I have not read the online book and maybe my opinion could be a bit different. In terms of story it is not too unique, it is a gaming drama which I have seen quite a few already. I actually get a bit bored on the gaming matches, the only nice thing about it is the 3D graphic when they are battling. But other gaming drama is much more unique it it's own way such as crossfire and Love 020. In terms of romance, Cheng Xiao is just a really bad actress. If it weren't for Xu Kai I would've drop this drama long time ago. Xu Kai does make up for her bad acting but the story and the romance doesn't. I can see Xu Kai being cold at first and shes somewhat interested in him but then afterwards she plays hard to get. It is just really confusing because she shown so much more interest in him initially and then afterwards she act like she doesnt' like him at all. It also doesn't make sense why Xu Kai all of the sudden likes her, theres not really a strong build up on that point. Besides shes the only female gamer? A few other things I don't like about this is that the recap is not at all that exciting, the music is dull, and the dubbing of the actors are horrible. I do not feel the excitement when there are cutsy love scenes, or wanting to watch the next episode. I think the director could've done better for this drama.

Gamer series with a lot of drama/friendship

I do enjoy this drama it is a mix of 50% drama/friendship 40% gaming/strategies and 10% romance. The romance is boy/girl relationship not boy love, there is a lot of bromance as in brotherly friendship for those who misunderstands. This drama is focused on the hardship of building/training a esport team and the friendship that is involved during this process. Which is what we go through in everyday life, there are always happy moments, falloff and betrayal of friendship at some point, quite realistic in our daily life. Also the struggles and commitment that is involved in accomplishing goals. There are quite some emotional scenes in the drama as the characters figure out their identity, or strive to become a better person. Leo Wu is a very good actor and Luhan has improved since his last two dramas, but considering he is more of a singer, i cut him some slacks on his acting.

It is quite unique that the actors are acting in the game but what I don't like about the drama is some of the gaming/reality scenes is quite confusing. e.g. the romantic scenes with Su Jia Yi and Gao Bo Song? Are they visualizing stuff in their head when it happens in the game? Or when Xiao Bei saw Xu Wei in the game?

Compared to other Esports drama, my husband do prefer Kings Avatar "Anime." He is a hardcore gamer and doesn't care too much for "dramas." I tried watching Kings Avatar Live action but its too much gaming for me I do prefer something that has more drama like this one. L020 has 70% romance if theres anyone whos looking for more of these type of drama to watch.

Great Wuxia drama

I really enjoyed this drama, it is quite adventurous and the fighting was great. Leo is a really good actor portraying someone who has to go through years of power struggle and worked hard to become more powerful. Also all the prejudice he has to live with which motivate him to train harder for one day where he can seek revenge. I am actually really satisfied with the ending although this is only Season 1 and there should be a continuation. Really looking forward to one day where there would be a Season 2.

Cute in the beginning until eps 25+

I was really hooked to this drama initially, i thought i have found another good drama to watch. The character builds was very interesting and mysterious. FL was adorable with a mysterious secret of being able to predict the future which cause herself to be chased down by a group of assassin. ML brother had died mysteriously and he is trying to figure out how/why? The chemistry between them was very sweet and development of their romance. All was good until around 25+ where theres breakup makeup breakup again... And maybe makeup its kind of frustrating.. esp in ancient time settings it is almost impossible to divorce. Also all the plotting that follows around the time of when the mysterious foreign infanta shows up is when things goes downhill for me. I am a bit tired of waiting for them to uncover more secrets that happened in the past of which will then led to something else that sabotage their relationship. Although i am 3 away from finishing i think ill just drop it.

Anime fun fluffy drama

This may not be everyones cup of tea, it actually took me quite a few episode to get used to its style. If you enjoy watching anime than you may understand the jokes better. This is another wuxia drama with combination of comedy and adventure. I like Xu Kai better in these type of carefree comical roles. There are some actors who are just decent in this drama like Wang Wu and Hai Yun Fan. They tried to throw some romance in there which I really don't think fit the theme. Overall, I would say good drama to watch after a long day of work and you just want to relax. The plot is very simple, this drama is more for the comedy and entertainment.

ML can't act good story

I think in any drama it is very important for the main lead to be able to act but Luhan needs more experience in this series or at least wuxia dramas. However, all other actors made up for his poor acting. I really like Tang Tang and Luo Heng. This is a typical wuxia drama where a boy is destined to die at a certain age and hes trying to change his fate, along his journey he met some great friends/students. If you can tolerate Luhan's acting this drama would be great for you, as the story is pretty good. I am also not a fan of his fiance's acting, it is too dull for me.

Great potential until the end

I decided to watch this drama because I really like the FL's acting. She has a charming carefree personality. The beginning was quite mysterious with wuxia and cases that needs to be solved. The ML's past was also mysterious, no one know of his origins. It was quite a journey as he is trying to figure out his identity and went through quite a lot of mistreatment for being a slave. Towards the end when vampire starts getting thrown in the storyline is when I started feeling overwhelmed and just want the series to end. Overall, I would say a decent series if you have nothing else better to watch.

Bad fighting scenes, interesting story

I was excited when this drama came out as it has been a long time since there's a Wuxia drama and this drama is casted by famous actors and director. After watching eps 1-2, I can see Zhao Lu Si is not fitting for fighting drama, her strokes are weak, even if her weapon is a ribbon, her grip of the ribbon is not strong. Shes basically holding it while CGI does the rest of the work. If you watch Jet Lis Fong Sai Yuk theres many ribbon scenes that shows it can be a stronger weapon by the way the actor portrays it. It reminds me of Chinese ribbon dance and not martial arts. As for Yang Yang.. fan dance?

Due to the increasing high rating, I decided to bypass my opinion and watch a bit more.. the story is very interesting... But every fight scene is disappointing... I can see other reviewers speaking highly of the two main actors. I am a fan of their work too (love 020, romance tiger rose, etc) but only their NON fighting wuxia drama.

If you are watching this drama for maybe romance you may like it. However, if you are a martial arts/wuxia fan (i am not talking about stuff like eternal love, romance of tiger rose these are focused on romance and not fighting), this may not be for you.
