Note 1: This was ambivalent & difficult to rate so you need to read the review to assess what would YOUR rating be or if you don't want to be spoilered, first watch it yourself.Well... There is no question as of who the "girl" is in shis one:)) As one of the boys acts so super timid (even a girl would put on more fight) that it's awkward to watch. Also right from the start (usually when two boys first meet, they need to adjust their dynamics for a time) the other boy treats him like a bird (excuse my british:) And then they have scenes that could remain IDENTICAL even had they put a real girl in timid boy's place. And I don't mean some thai "mangirl", I mean regular girl, no mannerism. I had seen boy couples that exchanged a couple of blows before falling into each others arms, and I could still understand that better than THIS.
The other boy is a shortie, but else way manlier, especially in behavior. There is a girl immediatelly impressed (and I could understand if there were more than just one). He isn't typical "pretty boy", but there's something very attractive about him and he has super cute smile. The actor does good with facial expressions, it can be said his acting definitely dominates between the main two.
!!Guys, important information! That is, for viewers like me, LOL. There is real kiss and and it's a good kiss, especially because one of the boys is hot. Nothing fake and nothing stiff. And you don't need to wait whole series for it... It comes early... Really hot:)!! LOL.
NOW I understand the popularity of this series. Though the timid boy's behavior is painful to watch. But the other boy... Wow! Aww:) Timid boy's got literally ZERO chance not to fall over the heels for him. Just like any girl, or gay guy, who would be in his place:)
Apart from him there's also Mean Phiravich, as a boy with enigmatic (or plain bitchy) behavior and dreamy eyes. Very striking combination:) As he is more handsome than both the main boys, he does get your attention no matter what, and there is one plain-yet-cute boy who's caught in the fireworks. I can see another couple in the making:)
Timid boy is getting on my nerves. The actor has this kinda lifeless way he talks. And the character... It would be okay if a GIRL acted like this. BEING GAY DOES NOT MAKE HIM A GIRL, DOES IT? But with a character like this it looks like it does. What a disservice to all gay guys. Alright. I'm trying to enjoy this series for the sake of the other boy, so... Looks like I'll have to swallow this. Even if it DOES get stuck in my throat.
The other boy makes up for the embarassment. Both in looks and in character. It's him who really makes me root for the couple. Or more like, root for his choice. Even if I don't understand how come he INSTANTLY treated timid boy as his girlfriend (and I mean it literally). But he's so likeable I just wish for the character to be with the one he's happy with. And well, his choice seems to be the boy who talks to himself the way you can see only female heroines do in hispanic telenovelas.
Oh, gosh! As soon as I thought this there was a scene of that boy who'd been fighting with Mean Phiravich's character (whom I suspect to become his love interest) walking the street AND talking loudly to himself. What's up with this series? LOL. It's not just timid boy, here.
Whoops! The mean boy (I mean, Mean Phiravich's character. But if THAT is his nickname, then let's really call him the mean boy... just for the word-play sake of this review) makes a move on timid boy. The most likeable boy (we know who I mean) swings by and immediatelly reacts like a pra'ek in a lakorn! Up to the last word. Let's call him the pra'ek boy because I really had to laugh. It's like what I've seen in every romance (the intense-kind) I ever watched, just always it was with a boy & girl. Not boy & boy. I watched boy & boy romances before but they were DIFFERENT. This looks kinda ridiculous to watch. I think it needs to be a BIT different when he's handling someone who's not wearing skirt. A TINY bit different. A tiny hair??
Ok pra'ek boy kisses timid boy in the locker room. It's been only 3 episodes since we've been treated by a kiss scene and we go even further now. Somehow, it was uncomfortable to watch, and normally I love hot scenes. I don't know. Perhaps I'm not enjoying as I'm not liking the timid boy.
Anyway, there is definitely going to be something between the mean boy and the... I have no nickname for him, yet:) But so far he keeps bothering the mean boy (grabbing his arm, too) for absolutely no reason. Someone didn't wanna think of some script?
Aanyway, pra'ek boy & timid boy decided to be boyfriends exactly at half of the series. And they go more or less public:) Mean boy also sees the couple and mocks pra'ek boy right to his face, flaunting that he would make more suitable boyfriend if he wanted to. I had to smile. Even if I like pra'ek boy, I admit I find it maybe tiny bit ridiculous watching how he keeps acting towards timid boy like a knight towards his lady:) Not that I'd wish the mean boy should really split the couple. If he would start dating the timid boy, not the pra'ek boy, it wouldn't help me.
Meanwhile, the biggest loser among them all who only watches porn all the time gets a girlfriend, AND Cherreen Nachjaree at that. Er... are the characters in this series just supposed to have unexplicable behavior? Meanwhile, pra'ek boy is all over timid boy, even introduces him to his family... I still don't get HOW they got so close. It's feels like they just had to do the script. Then the mean boy (who obviously has horrid mother) pulls the loud boy (who keeps following him around) towards himself by grabbing his collar in grand gesture and perhaps because of it, misses his target and plants long kiss right next to his mouth. Yeah, I understand the straight cast might not want to do it. But this drama just feels so random and artificially orchestrated I would get the same impression even without this.
The loud boy gets home and cries loud for the whole house to hear that he was kissed. His sister presents him with Chupa Chups lollipop and he gets hysterical... as the 'Chups' souds like "kiss" in thai, LOL. (You guessed right, I had way more fun with the second couple.) Anyways, he keeps yelling about it for days. I'll keep calling him the loud boy.
Aanyways, later on there is an episode where mean boy & loud boy are bonding over a cute doggie. LOLz. Of course it's more like mean boy is bonding with loud boy's cute doggie against loud boy's will and loud boy's expressions are priceless. And I'm finally having fun:) Mean boy steps over the boundaries with loud boy's family even after he stated they are too different a level to even talk. Anyways these two are almost too adorable together. Luckilly only for their fake kiss, else they would have swept the leading couple TO DUST. (And THEY are as far as bed scenes by now...:)
Watching pra'ek boy & timid boy together, I'm having such mixed feelings:) I'm all repulsed by timid boy, while all hot for pra'ek boy... who's getting on with timid boy, lolz. Next thing I know I nearly got an heart attack because there was REAL kiss of mean boy & loud boy. The end of the series is nearing, after all... so, mean boy already told loud boy he wants to date him. I find it speedy but I am all for it!;)
Not that poor loud boy ever said he's gay. Our mean boy takes no for an answer so he like, has to be, now:) Also Mean boy's got loud boy's number and keeps calling him and kissing him on a cheek incessantly. It's so much it's funny. But switching to the main couple doesn't help, timid boy is annoying as ever. It's funny that in one dialogue he says "lately it seems like I am annoying". LOL. Lately?:)
Final epi: some wow & cute moments for mean boy & loud boy, some group camaraderie, and some general feeling that this all ends after it barely scratched the surface. Looks like this whole series was just fullfilled with cute faces and childish behaving characters plus some added skinship to indulge the BL audience. But then the last scene with mean boy & loud boy kinda proved me wrong:) And it was Can of all the characters who spoken so genuinely about his feelings that for the first time it was not just childish, it was actually deeper:) Pitty Mean Boy didn't show any understanding. Instead of just being posessive, he could've listen more closely to what Can had to say.
Note 2: Perth Tanapon definitely has a future considering THAT he was 17 and WHAT he was able to portray.
Note 3: I guess there was one more side-line with some other boys I didn't comment on, 'cause I completely skipped it.

Krachao doesn't come from a very glorious family. Her father left both her and her mother to live-off some wealthier woman. Her mother is useless after he left and spends her time drinking, sobbing and pleading for him to come back. Krachao seems to be rather useless herself: she is not skillful or talented in anything, struggled with studying and barely managed graduating high-school. She has no job. She is beautiful, though (portrayed by Min Peechaya) and won several beauty pageants already. Whenever there is a beauty pageant she signs in and wins it, collecting the prize money. Her heartfelt wish is to help her pitiful mother. She reckons she needs to get wealthy in order to make her father come back to them. As she has no greater asset than her looks (which is not true, because she is also kind-hearted and brave, and rather modest in thinking that apart her looks she is not special) she decides to look for rich husband. One event night at some beauty pageant (which she won, of course) she meets young and carefree Tien, portrayed by handsome Om Akkaphan Namart, who crashes/crushes on her:) Tien actually comes from a wealthy family and therefore fulfills her category of suitable boyfriend but she gets to know him in circumstance when she thinks he is assaulting her, so she unhesitantly gives him a piece of her mind (and some good punch). Nevertheless, he is decided to pursue her. The whole situation starts to be cute as Tien is actually a nice guy (a bit irresponsible, but nice) who dreams to find a girl that would love him and not just his money. Krachao, on the other hand, only starts being interested in him after learning that he has money: but we know it's not because she is greedy, but because she sincerely loves her mother, doesn't judge her and just wants her to be happy again. I must say I liked her character. She is a fresh air, not the saint-type of nang'ek, also not the confident capable type. She believes she does not have anything better in her to utilize for her goal than her good looks. But you can't condemn her, as even in that, she is not shallow or selfish.
Krachao's life actually does have one more good asset. And that is her best friend Meekrob, or shortly Mee. Ever since kindergarten she took care of Krachao, helped her to get through exams at school, as she is talented and clever. She's got a job and is quickly succesful, so she secures one spot at the same company even for Krachao, who doesn't have anything to write in her resume, except "beauty pageant experience":) Tien is ecstatic to see that resume though, as the company is his family's. He now gets to see Krachao regularly and even sets up a beauty pageant for her. He is mistakenly thinking he found the beautiful girl who doesn't care for his money and family background. Because at the beginning she was so cross with him, that when he asked her if she does want to know who he is and about his family, she said no:D Consequently, he asks Meekrob to help him court her. We can see that Meekrob is not quite immune to his cute looks but clearly sees he's not interested in her, so she doesn't nourish any hopes, as she is a smart person. Unlike Krachao, who's hoping to hear the wedding bells already:)
But who knows, maybe even Meekrob can get equally - and I mean quite equally! - handsome boyfriend as Krachao:) As there is one more exact copy, and that is his twin brother. Meekrob is portrayed by Sammie Cowell, so she's quite a looker herself, also the twin-brother is supposed to have way more serious and work-oriented personality, a closer match to Meekrob.
But then the brother arrives and it's clear from episode 1 the scriptwriters intended him for Krachao. While I liked the smiling pra'ek Tien better at first, and probably would prefer the plot just to be about Tien discovering that Krachao IS after his money, after all, but then finding out she is actually nice, and not his standard gold digger (they had such a cute dynamics) it's soon established that Krachao gets way more interaction with the other brother, while Tien gets closer to Meekrob, calling her on the phone almost every day. Krachao gets brokenhearted when the other brother speaks ill of her to the point she accepts Tien's marriage proposal in half the series, just to shake it off. Tien is bothered when Meekrob says he no longer needs to call her. Both "couples" experience that looks are not everything and human feelings get stirred by something else:)
As for the cast, Om Akkaphan Namart is not a bad actor, but he's not that great either. When the stern brother began smiling and the smiley one began scowling, I could no longer tell his twins apart. Furthermore, when being both interested in the same girl caused them both act out of character, I ceased to care which one shall Krachao then end up with. But of course in the second series half I cared about Meekrob getting her happyend, too. Sammie Cowell did a good job in portraying likeable down-to-earth girl while it cannot escape the viewers notice that she is indeed beautiful to be easy on the eye even without being dolled-up, practically wearing clothes a man could wear:) And what makes this lakorn worth watching the most, is the character of Krachao. Min Peechaya didn't need a double role to create a heroine who really interested me and whom I cared for. She could leave the whole farm with both the brothers and I would still watch her whichever story.
The chemistry of Om Akkaphan with Sammie Cowell is decent. The chemistry of Om Akkaphan with Min Peechaya is not much, their kiss is awful. Actually Jum Uthumporn & Moo Dilok's chemistry is the best, LOL. There's Poonphat Attapanyapol, too. Now, he is the one who could work with Min Peechaya best, ironically. They made him wear the weird long hairdo and be the bad guy... Though Krachao's character makes even him wish to become good.
Then Meekrob enters a beauty contest and the 3 girls of Tien's fanclub who are mocking her even before signing up are told off by Krachao, reminding them their cosmetics and surgeries and that Meekrob has naturally beautiful skin, hair, eyes and boobs. Hilarious. Of course Tien comes up to watch that scene and HE also mocks Meekrob. His character has shown unlikeable progress throughout the story (he was really petty and mean towards Krachao, all the while hanging out with other girls) but regarding this, the audience can see beforehand that he'll fall flat on his face.
Moo Dilok ROCKS. This guy amazes for YEARS. Just looking at his dramalist, your hand shall get sore scrolling through all the roles... It looks like several hundred, LOL. Nothing he would not be able to portray. Even his role in this little lakorn is ingenious. Such a zen approach to life, LOL. The way he treats the worst villain. And then says in kind, fatherly manner to Poonphat Attapanyapol's character that his hair has grown too long. LMAO.
The happy ending was nice, though I wouldn't mind even if Krachao ended up with Athidej, or if Meekrob told Tien she's got other options:) In his face, LOL.
In conclusion this was not boring lakorn (with the exception of the final epi), but it did not need to be 20 episodes long. I wouldn't re-watch it, but it had some funny moments that were just priceless. And Krachao is really a super kind of a nang'ek! (Normally I hate the usual "action/kidnapping" by the end of a lakorn, but HER reaction at gunpoint? UNBELIAVABLE!:)
P.S.: By the way, Krachao's dad looks the hottest of all them guys there, LOL.

One couple is girl around 18, guy around 29. Other couple is girl around 30, guy around 21. Nobody needs to deal with any other weird(er) specifics, because that's not what we actually see in the series (we CAN see the general age of portraying actors, that can't be helped). So I would quit it and concentrate on the actual romantic stories here.
First, I find it FASCINATING this series has TWENTY episodes considering it's actually about NOTHING at all. LOL. The story of both couples is not much, there is nothing much really happening except long talking in circles approx. 6 times about 1 minor thing that almost/happened.
General story of the first couple is she is young and timid, doesn't have much freedom in her age and the older guy is coming on her rather strong while her older sister with aggressive protective attitude keeps hovering.
General story of the second couple is she is desperately in love with too a young guy for her opinion (namely her pride), while he is desperately in love with older girl who acts like a c*w as she cannot come in terms with that she loves him, too.
It's going in circles, especially with the second couple.
It's not very "lovey dovey" but it's watchable, due the lack of even worse bullsh*t (like evil plotting bad guys, crime lines, family secrets...) and good dose of lighthearted scenes where nobody is getting kidnapped by vile secondary male or their hair pulled by hysterical secondary female.
Skinship scenes of the second couple are way better as the guy is way hotter and the girl is not so green and constrained.
I didn't like the music.
Around 14th episode I seriously felt the whole theme has exhausted itself. I don't know who needed to keep selling commercials to drag this for 6 more but I got tired while watching.
Stretching for more than necessary, I started getting nitpicky with the series. Episode 15, Pearwah Nichaphat's character is the object of two guys fighting over her (literally wrist-pulling her in between themselves) for the second time already. This is unexplicable as in this series, she is as dull as doornail. Ciize Apichaya actually looked more similar to the child actress in episode 1, maybe it was a mistake SHE was in the side-role. Also Bie Thassapak was getting on my nerves, he looked... so gay in this. But I think I would not write these things if the series ended sooner.
Rest of the episodes consist of even more random and unrelated bits that don't form any story (it made me even check the scriptwriter, looks like it's someone who only wrote some sequels before or did some editing), therefore saying they were boring would be an understatement.
I DID appreciate that in the last episode none of the characters suddenly pulled a gun from their drawer to rescue someone in a demented "action final", nevertheless I didn't enjoy lukewarm conversations on the same topic for the 10th time or the 100th time of listening to the same bits of "wistful piano" soundtrack. It all went slower and slower. It felt like stuck in a time-loop. It was like it would never end...

Yaya in the shower using OWL instead of shower gel: LMAO
Now, Yaya is amazing. I knew Sunny Suwanmethanont was amazing all along but with Yaya, it was not before 'Leh Lub Salub Rarng' that she proven herself to me to be more than just a pretty face. Unfortunatelly, that Nichkhun or Munchkin or whatever his pet name was has NOT proven himself to be a better partner than Nadech The Gay Face (his character is supposed to be half-japanese... sadly it seems the gay side of japanese). Therefore, I wasn't enjoying the whatever romance-side and strictly focused myself on the brother-sister relationship & humour... Then of course, the emotional ending. Aww:) Sunny & Yaya were awesome, they touched my heart more than Nadech & Yaya ever did, LOL. And this was better than if they cast them as lovers. Stronger. So never mind Nichkhun, his was after all a side-role.Was this review helpful to you?
I didn't like the 1st episode. Instantly I wished this to be a shorter one, like 10 episodes only. It has TWENTY SIX. It's like Murphy's law. But then again, there's enough time to sway me, if this is actually good.
Since 2nd episode, I started zoning out. It looked like I was to fast-forward through this lakorn, or drop it soon. As a fan of romantic series, it was difficult for me to tune in, when I didn't find guy/girl likeable, and when there was no romance. Just some kind of "friendship"... I know that's precisely what the reviews praised about 'I Wanna Be Sup'tar', but I haven't seen that one yet so, too bad. I find no charm.
Since 6th episode, I dediced to watch this best without ANY expectations, not as a romance, but just some kind of funny sketches about several friends. Besides Pongpitch & Goy, my favorites definitely were Jab Penpetch & Tao Sarocha, two 40 somethings, whose behavior gives such a bratty air that even teenage characters cannot measure with it... LMAO:) I tried to ignore the mangirl, Due Arisara's Dao, or the toot with gross facial hair. So naturally I skipped a lot of those 26x60 minutes.
On the romance side of this, of course I cheered for Goy to end up with Pongpitch, as she is too awesome for just any hunk and there is something very warm & cute about Pongpitch (one scene he jokes he is afraid to shave the beard off 'cause then girls wouldn't leave him alone, LOL). On the other hand, I wasn't able to focus on Putt Putichai and that "Gypso", their story didn't really get my attention for quite some time, until it became important for the family too, when the grandpa was sick by the end. It was cute they had this slow but honest development from being friends. But as far as I have noticed, there isn't a single good kiss scene (I'm not counting those with eyes wide open) for any couple.
It has more family drama towards the end, when the 40s characters still being immature proves not to be that funny anymore... It's not just being a dissapointment for THEIR elders, they themselves just aren't able to become proper elders and give any support to the younger family members. When a family is disfunctional like that, it's the known feeling of "being alone despite being with people"...
Romance of the last couple comes in the last epi only, as for the other couples, their stories are not even finished, or didn't get much closure. And that despite the generous length of 26 episodes. I am also generous: to give it rating not lower than average.

MDL user 'Soju' wrote: "The poster of this scares me." That made me laugh hard and I agree:D
James Ma portrays a character who gives many speeches and often lectures other characters. Just during first 5 episodes he counsels about personal money management and DEBTS at least 3 times. It almost looks like the scriptwriter went through something while preparing this lakorn:)Love-wise, he isn't so wise (pun intended). There are three women spinning around him (hence the scary poster:) but first one is his sister, second one his mark, only the third his love interest. But their first kiss causes a death of a good person and then, there comes the overly aged evil rival Willie McIntosh, muhaha... Things won't go smoothly.
18-year old Gina Yeena makes a decent main cast. Natural beauty and natural acting. Even the kiss scene was not a disaster, while there are known leading ladies 20 years older than her who still can't manage. She deserves a praise. Even Yoghurt Nattasha this time portrays someone a bit more than just a snotty airhead. While Pear Pitchapa subtly transformes into a character with charm and class, very different from her other roles.
The story's most poignant twist comes in episode 9, in which Dao Nuer stops being the 'North Star' and obeys the calling of the dark side. I appreciate this lakorn was not overly long. Still, the main couple had almost too much of going back and forth... I appreciated it when he finally told her of all his plans (we can't love someone we don't know), better late than never. The two shared great chemistry and I liked how James Ma's character - despite being swarmed by girls like you see on the poster - remained steadfast in pursuing Dao Nuer for no other reason than he just simply liked this girl, who at first didn't stand out. Overall the script emphasized chances given to all its characters to pursue either the light or the dark side.
Overall Namfon Sruangsuda deserves the highest praise for her acting, and hers was the most complex character. And I loved Mr. Frank's character's development, though there I cannot praise the acting of Willie McIntosh that much, LOL. But I guess he did the best he could:) M Apinan had the scariest scenes, still I found him way hotter than James Ma... well, he was always my type;)
The ending was satisfying and fullfilling for all the lakorn's characters and it was not about returning as the lost heir or marrying the rich prince, like usual:)

JJ's nerdy look in this: LMAO
Seriously, 'Project S' always brings us something else ;-))This time it's about two friends, probably since childhood as they seem really close (eating from each other's plate and everything). One of them is a boy, and one of them is a girl, nicknamed Bow.
The instant she sees an attractive boy nicknamed Arrow, the happy-go-lucky Bow says it's a sign they should be a couple and starts following him around. Therefore she follows him to his archery club, where she signs in, joined by her friend, who's there just to keep her company. Ironically enough, he really starts improving his shooting, while with Bow it's painfully obvious she's just there on a boy hunt and not really interested in the sport. Whenever someone there is trying to mentor her (sometimes for long hours) she keeps smiling wider and wider smile, trying to be all polite about it. Then it's revealed one of the girls in the club is Arrow's girlfriend, so at point it looks like Bow is going to give up on archery. But then Arrow and the other girl split up and in a depressed moment Arrow asks the cheerful Bow to be his new gf. Bow is all gleeful. Her childhood friend, not so much.
At that point, the club enters a competition and his performance drops, while Bow's rises up, again ironically as she's in her blissful mood and not caring. Therefore, she doesn't suffer any stage fright. But she goes and tries to cheer her friend up, give him courage. The way she does that is immensely cute and she seems true in doing it more than anything else.
Actually, all the other relationships portrayed here are kinda mellow, in compare to their friendship. So there's no mistake which love story (isn't friendship the most beautiful love form?) this is really about...
Note: The opening credits song is the same for all Project S stories, only different renditions. (Each of them awesome, btw.:)
Thank You note: My respect goes to 'Project S' creators who decided to bring something OTHER than mushy romance or silly horror into youth audience television, PLUS make it an entertaining watch. Though this one is not the best of the 4 stories (for me that's still 'SPIKE!', and nobody needed to be in love or mentally ill in it) it is the only one I wrote review on, so I had to mention it here;-)

Yeah, everything fades when it is revealed there is a boys school right next to the convent. So close the girls can walk beside the see-through fence and pass the strayed ball to the boys playing there. Still, most of the screentime is devoted to the girls putting all energy to just squawk among themselves. Or each of the girls has her own drama that takes up the whole episode.
But soon the nang'ek fails to follow whichever strict rule enough to get reprimanded in Grate Warintorn character's office. So at least that's that good for. Because it results in her regularly dropping by his quarters, calling him "uncle" (LOL). I wondered whether this is really going to be romance or not.
I more or less slept through first 7 episodes (I wasn't buying the "drama") untill there was some kind of sing-and-dance competition. I woke up, as I always say I wish for a dance scene in EACH lakorn:) Next episode, featuring just singing in the nun uniforms with many shots of the church and holy christ did not meet with such enthusiasm from me, LOL.
Generally I found the whole christian setting ridiculous and annoying. Watching a thai series, had they sticked to buddhism and refrained from talking to each other in ridiculous sounding english, I would have admired it more. I have read that this lakorn's romance is stored for the few last episodes only but frankly by that time, I was no longer even interested in it. I haven't developed true interest in the characters. The Grate Warintorn's character had an endearing butler, but that was it, LOL.
But I admit the last few episodes got better, the girls finally understood it's actually more intelligent to make friendships than the opposite (else, what to bring home from such "education"?), though I found the two closest girls to Nang annoying and probably would not befriend them even if they locked me up with them for several years.
Also, when they were all back in their respective homes I kinda felt the story has ended and still five or four episodes with very long runtime were left. As I didn't really care whether any of the main girls shall really end up with the guys they were obviously supposed to end up with, I was actually bored the same as the early stages. I admit some cute scenes did come, even if not sooner than one episode before last. It was almost a shock, but Nang and her former "uncle" turned out to be totally adorable together:) Nevertheless, again I wasn't buying the "drama" with her father that made zero sense... But the ending I liked. I agreed the feelings of the father giving his daughter away were important. I liked the happy end and there was no off-putting fake kiss despite leading actress' age. So, no more points down:)

The Swan piece of the Mafia multi-series opens with a female version of the (by now familiar) title song. There is a female gang leader for the first time. For such role, they cast Janie Tienphosuwan, which frankly would not be my choice, but at least she is not 37-year Andy Gregson acting like 17-year old. For the 1st time, I see Jason Young cast in role that befits him perfectly (his character is killed in 1st episode). There is Toni Rakkaen, and Pharunyoo Rojanawuttitham in smaller roles. Boy Pakorn reprises his role - in which he looks rather wistful - in more spotlight, this time. However, his character's name doesn't seem to be "William", as listed here on MDL. Everyone calls him "Ah'Long" (EDiT: I can now see this was corrected). Also, he doesn't appear to be leader of anything (EDiT: I can now see this was corrected too, from "leader" to "important player under Luead Mungkorn Gang"). And I can say that Hong (her name means "Swan") has it far worse than just "not being accepted by some members as their new leader". It's her own dad (Nappon Gomarachun's acting is beyond praise and the long hair make him look even more impressive) who calls her a misfortune. Evil. Not worthy enough to repay the plague she brought, even if she died. Such things he tells her to her face. So, to describe Hong's character as "depressed" wouldn't give her justice. She cannot even cry and kill herself in remorse.
Then the synopsis states Hong did catch William's eye and he intends to make her lady of his gang. It's not what we actually see in the series. It begins with Ah'Long (never being called "William" by anyone) being down, alone. He lost everyone he loved and in this world, now only the person whom he hates remains. And it's apparently Hong's loved one...
I won't spoiler what happens next, I just wanted to point out the story is opposite than the synopsis says (or said, because apparently it was changed some time after I wrote this review). If anything, it looks more like Hong's the one taking a liking in Ah'Long, than the other way around. Also his character is the quiet one. He barely shows anything towards Hong other than inner melancholy that he must do what he must.
But, the two share good chemistry (Boy Pakorn has expressive eyes). And after watching many lakorns, I somehow enjoyed watching "nang'ek & pra'ek" who don't yap at each other and don't engage in furious slap/kiss approximately 5 minutes after they have met each other.
To get accepted as new leader of her gang... It's an emotive thing for Hong (her father's death scene in episode 6 was heartwrenching, which is what made BeatingBoy16 write that review) as everything in 'Mafia Luerd Mungkorn' is actually about love and loss.
Very satisfying role for Boy Pakorn, whose character - after very slow build up - proves in the last episode of the last series as both the most badass fighting and most romantic hero of them all, sacrificing himself for Hong, so she can have her glory.
Chai Chatayodom got an exceptionally fascinating villain role in the whole 'Mafia Luerd Mungkorn' universe, but it doesn't make sense. Didn't he have his epiphany already 2 stories back (the Bull)? Why does he still keeps acting this way? Also, in the other stories Hong was already introduced as a Swan Gang leader, even if this series only ends with her being finally crowned the new head. So I suggest the audience doesn't need to follow the supposed watching order and can save the "Bull" (best part, in my opinion) for last.
The only thing speaking for watching this story as the last one is that it features scenes of all the 4 male gang leaders coming together, though it also showcases their weaknesses. The "Tiger" leader is supposed to be the handsome one and he's not (there's huge wart right under his eye), the Red Eagle Gang leader is supposed to be the funny one, and he's not (I think I described it in my "Rhino" review enough), the Lion Gang leader is supposed to be the charismatic one and he's not (morelike, he's boring) so my expectations met only the Bull Gang leader, which is ironic as he's actually the fake one (you need to watch the "Bull" story's plot to find out). So, their group scenes somehow funny summarize everything that in 'Mafia Luerd Mungkorn' did not quite work out.

Club Friday Season 11: Love Crosses the Line

Cheer's character is a lonely orphan. She gets fast-courted by a random guy at work, who is coming on her rather strong. He is portrayed by Indy Intad too lazy to shave his facial hair off fully. I debated the possibility his character had some kind of terminal illness and that's why he rushed so much (he is shown throwing up in her apartment, right before their fist kiss... yeah, yuck). They date for 1 year. She never gets introduced to his family, he only shows her some pictures. We as an audience already can see he lives in a rich house. The father sleeps with any young and pretty subordinate. The mother knows. She even complains about it to her son. Complains that HE is rarely at home, too (truth is we can see him trying to be with Cheer breakfast-lunch-dinner). So, after the 1 year dating anniversary, such is the house the guy brings his working class orphan girl in...
Of all my concerns, this is what I did NOT expect: the BIG SPOILER girl being totally smitten with her guy's mother, LOL. The portraying actress is 48, that's 16 years older than Cheer. She acts hostile towards Cheer's character. Who responds with doe eyes, not fighting back her attacks. The father tries to help keeping the conversation pleasant. Though he looks like he would like to molest his son's girlfriend first chance he gets (but we don't know yet whether he would actually do it or spare one exception for the sake of his son's feelings).
Then even the father starts getting impertinent. Apparently he lent money to his son to set up his bussiness. He openly discusses at the dinner table how he is concerned about the return of his investment. Just as the mother being openly bitter about her married life, this is another blatant error in parenting. Cheer's boyfriend is a wonder to be such a nice guy, then. If this is the atmosphere he grew up in, there HAS TO be some way this left a mark on him... Suddenly Cheer jumps off her seat and goes to argue with the mother in the other room. That ends the visit. So, our shy orphan finally met her boyfriends' parents: and they are both horrible parents. I wondered whether this story's lesson would be learning that what she deemed a curse - having no family - was actually a blessing? But the MDL tags suggests it's the tabboo bisexual relations... It must be just the alluring mother, then.
No matter what, the straight couple's perfect coziness is shattered. She begans to worry and he... Well, having two immature parents probably doesn't help any MAN. Then she goes with him and his parents on a family trip after which I would break-up with him in her place. That even without the "engagement" thing. But she... she has a drunken one night stand with his mum:D
I can imagine how this story originated, with Club Friday giving the chance to general public to come up with their whatever "love life" stories. People all try to sound interesting, so it was a matter of time someone would claim - no matter if they did really, or not - that they hooked up even with their boyfriend's mother. But that's not important, question is if this mini series makes a good watch.
I can't say that I had much fun. Despite the girlfriend being the solitary type with an unexplicable crush on the most peculiar subject, it was the boyfriend who was giving me the weirdo vibe. There she was, having the "taboo bisexual life experience", yet I kept having the feeling there was something seriously off about HIM. What I appreciated were the scenes shared by the two female lead actresses. They both did a good job, and only that made this worth watching. I expected it to be creepy seeing her in bed with her boyfriend's mother, but somehow it was creepy when she was with the boyfriend, instead. In scenes he was drunk, I felt like he was practically molesting her. I'm not sure if it was the character or Indy Intad. At any rate, what looked like an unhealthy relationship surprisingly was not the taboo one.
She mentiones that she is unsure whether she should continue dating him even before she gets deeper on with his mother. And after that happens, it doesn't make any sense that she still doesn't break up with him. It would be easy, they don't have a joint account, house and children, yet. And even if he found out about her and his mom later, it wouldn't be as harsh as him finding out she is "cheating on him with his own mother"... But that's probably precisely what the scriptwriters wanted for their "big dramatic" finish. And so this keeps dragging, with her telling him excuses like she "was with a client"... But then we see scenes of the three of them together and hear her voiceover stating she didn't feel bad dating the both of them the same time and that they were even happier, and I seriously got confused. Did I say the boyfriend was creepy? Now all three of them were creepy.
When the main heroine finally decides to break things off, she calls the wise aunties in Club Friday radio (off air) but they fail to advise her that she needs to do the break-up way more carefully, now that she delayed it for so long. Still, she was the only character in there whose personality was not immmature. No matter how illogical the script was, Cheer really did a good job. Her acting was definitely best of the cast. Both "parents" overplayed a bit and Indy Intad... actually looked psycho most of the time. I don't know what's up with him. In the end, I was glad this was 4 episode only, and whatever the ending, at least it shall come quickly.

Beautiful 20-year old twins dating guys over 30
So, does it really matter which one with which? Well, one guy is 16 years older, the other "only" 11 years older, LOL. I finally got to watching some of the new generation nang'ek lakorns. Only find it a bit sad the new nang'eks got paired up with slightly tired, old pra'eks. Shouldn't there be a new pra'ek generation, too? Where are they? Are they all in lakorns like 'Tra Barb See Chompoo', in roles they are not mature enough for? They should be HERE!:)My only fun here, in truth, was watching the twins, as the cast is real twins (else I'm not really interested in twins stories). Like, I always wondered, whether I would be able to tell them apart, say by hair... or voice. And it's true: the way they speak IS different. I have a good ear:)
Story-wise, it's built on the fact the two guys knew the girls already. Knew them as being incorrigibly feisty/timid. THEN they switch. Though they still look exactly the same, that character change stirs their dynamics and feelings get developed that were not there before. It's a nice story, just the guys made me a bit uncomfortable. I couldn't help it... By 2015 this was filmed, Vee Veraparb already started aging so that I wasn't keen on seeing him with Nune Woranuch again, let alone getting on with a girl who barely stopped being teenaged. Nimtaisuk Thanapon is also uncomfortable on the eye with such a young girl. When both the main guys started featuring in "humourous" scenes like them being seen with their fly open in the bathroom, I really thought younger cast would be better.
It's also emphasised dramatically that the twins are linked to the point that when you start strangleing one, the other starts gasping, LOL. Of course it's a common folklore about identical twins, who look so alike they always made other people's head spin. But in the beginning, there are so many scenes with one twin experiencing so much of physical and mental state of the other, that it's a wonder if there's any time for them to actually live THEIR own life, LOL. Soon even the scriptwriters realize this and start giving this in smaller doses, just when this dramatic effect adds most to the situation. If the script doesn't require it, then they suddenly don't feel the connection. Perhaps their network got overloaded at that time, LOL.
Then there's the issue with the mother who hardly can be ignorant as to how many babies she's given birth to, LOL. Or the fact that one of the guys is a policeman (though VERY observant one, apparently), LOL. After watching 50% and more of the lakorn, it was already all quite boring for me, though the stepmother & stepsister do have funny hairstyles. I was constantly on a verge of dropping this, I didn't care much for it, yet I didn't really mind it, so I managed to wade through all the 15 episodes. Turns out, I might have dropped this after first 2 epis just as well... I didn't even mildly enjoy the romance (of course there is kidnapping in the final) so it's not even average 5.0.

Krist Perawat wearing pink helmet with cat ears is something I won't long forget:D
Mook Worranit is way less charming, of course. I found some of her previous series almost unwatchable and this time she portrays character that is not very likeable (or at least on first glance). Finding new self-fulfilment in stupid social "media" and finding NEW BOYFRIEND after moving to another place did not exactly win me on her side. She deserved worse than teasing from Mint, to whom she was still pretty susceptible, boyfriend smoyfriend. This series actually got the feelings a bit off-tuned in general. In one scene the grandma makes "joke" by telling really harsh things to her granddaughter, that should seriously hurt her. Then she laughs it off, that it was for a "dramatic effect only". I think I wouldn't be able to laugh at that. Also we have scenes where Mint apologies to Be, but the thing that is really anticipated here is Be's apology to Mint. For everything. I felt that bringing those back together would not be easy even if the "nang'ek" had her head set straight since episode 1. Instead, she keeps acting like a dimwitted c*w, while he remains unexplicably patient with her, and even flirt-ish. His character also didn't make much sense, except he was planning some kind of terrible revenge, or smth.
There is another girl dangerously close to Mint and Be doesn't appreciate this danger AT ALL. Instead, she still brags about new boyfriend, who is "way better and rich"... If she didn't learn her life lesson by now, I'm afraid 10-episode series is not enough. No wonder other reviews say it's rushed. As if that's not enough of 2-girls-competing-for-1-guy, there is a second couple, or rather threesome, doing the same. Also they do things that normally would completely set a person off but here, it gets brushed by.
Soon, I realized the flashback scenes were actually way better... It was the present line that deserved to be axed!:) I was asking myself: "Does she have no conscience at all?" "Does he have some terrible revenge plan?" Else, you don't get to see leading characters acting like this.
I know it's supposed to be a funny show, but sincerely it has no humorous moments, except that one girl's bedroom is decorated with Off Jumpol's face (if the guy was really there, maybe this show WOULD be funny?) and of course the cute flashbacks... but that's another timeline.
Real kiss is still rare on thai TV, and even more so a nice bedscene. Still, watching it I was afraid that Mint has promised himself to get even with Be, or to deal with her in some way. And to do so without lying to her once. Well, with her intelligence, it was not needed:)
That's why it looked like to me but nevermind. Let's say during this series the behavior of both sides of the main duo remained unfathomable to me. In the final there was like 15 minutes left for them to get things sorted, so THAT is why the reviews said it was rushed, LOL.
Besides Worranit, there's also Nara Thepnupha. I remember this girl well. She has REAL charm when she dances. Real talent (I noticed her already in other roles, even as just an antagonist). There is a folk-singer contest here at one episode, so at least this much chance for Nara to shine, she is cute, not only acting-out-cute, like Mook Worranit's character.
As for Krist Perawat, he is VERY cute. But seriously, he needs a role with more spunk. SOTUS made him a pink-milk drinking gay, this show a pink-shirt wearing nicey boy, fawning for years over 1 girl. But you can notice some of his facial expressions would fit a way rougher guy.
Trivia: One scene Mook Worranit's character is watching 'Secret Seven (2017)' on TV.

Sadly, it's so good it's better than the lakorn itself: it somehow lacks real dramatic feel, its mood is too light in my opinion, so no real emotions were stirred in me.
I liked one of the sisters (though it was confusing that the visibly younger actress played the older sister and vise versa) and almost liked Pope Thanawat in here (still prefer him in Tawan Deard or Buang). Maybe next time?

I've seen this already with Anne Thongprasom & Au Tanakorn. There was even Angie Hastings (instead of the doll Diana Flipo). So I didn't particularly feel the need to see this remaked plus this version's cast has Jui, who is too charming to be a nang'rai. She is equally as enchanting a woman as Ploy, so at first the audience might be torn as to whom they should root for (especially when we have nang'ek whose personality is supposed to be difficult). What's the same like in old version is that her side-character gets too much focus. Jab Penpetch Benyakul plays in both versions, which is funny. Other thing so adorable on the 2001 version was that Karat, being such a wild and feisty woman, has taken up an undying interest in a man who seemed like a dull, boring type. Au Tanakorn played that well. But Pope does not seem dull at all. Also, Pope & Ploy don't have the age gap. So, all that's a different dynamics. Nevertheless, it's soon proven that Ploy & Pope work perfectly in their own way. It doesn't start as cheerful story: but to watch a friendship destroyed for a man who wasn't even worth it, makes you prepared that Karat's character is not to be as sweet as your usual nang'ek.
Then the main couple starts getting closer. They made Pope wear glasses (they're especially awkward in the scene of him jumping into sea waves) probably in attempt to make him look a bit prim. Ploy of course flourishes in her role, as SHE can be both nang'rai/nang'ek. (Karat has truly horrendous mother, one that could make you commit suicide. No wonder she grew-up into a woman who tends to act out.) It's hilarious when she mistakenly thinks he is his own's mother's lover. I like how Karat falls for him early and also confesses to him fast:) Then she kissses him and knocks his stupid glasses. But it's cute he's not tired with her after she practically jumps his neck. She's dominant with him and drags him around shopping and changing his clothes and image, he lets her and is cute about it. She shows she's thankful he has given her a chance. They are really so cute. Same like the older version.
Then, of course, he meets Jui. Like I mentioned above, that's a bit iffy because of the wrong type cast. The story is completely the same, Pisut is not at fault at all, as she is capable, even while pregnant/already mother of a baby, to go at any lenghts and exploit the compassionate streak of his character. Karat cannot handle the situation with grace, as she knows how motivated her rival is to win over her, and also because this time she is truly in love. She is scared to death that the woman who was once able to steal her husband right in front of her nose should do so again.
Therefore this love story does not end with the wedding.
It's strong story, as it's well balanced. Both sides of this couple are madly in love (her so much she can't see there's nothing to worry, him so much he endures all her terrible behavior), both are capable to forget their pride for it, yet both have strong self-respect issues to contend while battleing to keep this marriage. The theme of kindness, emotional blackmailing, loneliness is well featured in this lakorn. Regrettably Ploy's character seems like nuisance in large part of the drama, as she acts so childish. Still she mantains good dynamics with Pope, as without question, her looks are extraordinary. Pope is very cute, but his looks actually are pretty average. So he actually fits the Pisut role in his own way. They make a couple that is strangely perfect.
As hysterical and vengeful as she is, as kind and peaceful is he. Guarded and gentlemanly at any circumstance (NOT a "noble idiot", for he is intelligent and capable to see through nang'rai, just as he can see behind his nang'ek's antics), yet only she can bring a smile to his serious face. You really wish this couple is able to save their marriage...
I won't describe more of the following story. Let's just say every kind of hell is going to break loose, even if neither of them actually did anything bad:)
I appreciate the bonus thing they did for all the characters in the last episode and Ploy&Pope were so cute and funny, so... In the end, I rate this version a bit higher:)
