Braincells... I don't know them

Am I the only one that has questions??? LIKE A LOT. I can't explain how confused I am because to me, if you're going to film a time travel theme drama, you gotta make it make sense. But Sisyphus doesn't know logic apparently.

When developing a plot so complicated like this one you gotta set some common rules for the world-building, how everything works, how people act, their arcs, etc. But to me it seemed that most of the things happening in the story were for the sake of other things to happen in the future. I don't know how to explain it but everything was too "convenient" for its own good.
I'm truly confused with the way things work in this world and with the fact that some things happen to certain characters but not to others. Like, if A happens to B (who's coming from the future), then if A happens to C (who's also coming from the future) it has to happen the same way.

I think this drama failed to explain certain rules of the world and expected us, as viewers, to understand everything without an explanation. My braincells are all gone, I swear.

I'm mad because this drama, and specially the plot, had so much potencial. The cast is amazing, the story too, but when it came to telling the story and developing it, it failed completely. The script didn't help either, it's messy and a little cringy at some parts. Don't even get me started on the CGI cause I pretended like I didn't see anything of the effects throughout the entire drama. I just ingnored them.

The thing with the characters is that I didn't get attatched to any of them, and that was a huge turn off for me. How can I remain intrested in a story where I don't give a f*ck about what happens to their characters? I also feel that there were somo characters who were totally useless to the plot and they'd only get in the way of other people. Also feel like at the end they left stories incompleted and just hanging. I also don't really understand the motive behind Eddy Kim trying to kill Seo Hae and Tae Sul, we get it you're jealous and feel like you were Tae Sul's shadow your entire life, but to me that's a pretty cliche motive to just reveal and do what you please. I don't know, I feel like that ending was messy and it came out of nowhere.

OST is pretty good. Not much to say since it's not the most relevant thing to the story.

But what I will say, and this is what surprise me the most, is that the chemistry between Park Shin Hye and Jo Seung-woo is pretty good. I was not expecting this cause usually Park Shin Hye's partners are not suited for her, but I really liked how Seung Woo and her fitted together.

Anyway, I feel sad cause I had high expectations with this drama but it kinda disappointed me.

Good plot, poor delivery

I feel like this drama has 6 extra episodes that could've been easily deleted. Overall the plot is interesting and original but through out the second half of the drama the storyline stars dragging and the ridiculousness starts.

What angers me the most is that this drama had the potential to do so much but the development was too poor. Around ep 10 I started to feel that the plot was getting ridiculous and it was dragging itself. The same situations kept on happening and always with the same characters.

What I liked the most about it was the main couple. The chemistry was lovely, their scenes and actions were natural and beautiful. I've seen another drama with Bo Young (Strong woman) and I feel like she always has good chemistry with her co-protagonists. Hyoseop stole my heart, I feel like he did a good job with his character. Both of them, actually. But the problem is that I feel like their characters were poorly written. The shift between their two personalities (the old one in their old bodies, and the new ones) are too abrupt and don't have coherence with their past selves.

Hee Jin is the worst character. I feel like half of the problems the characters had in the story, they are all Hee Jin's fault. The same situation repeated itself at least three times with this character. Couldn't stand her at all. And the police officers... god, just get another job, you clearly are not capable of doing simple tasks and just, I don't know, do the MINIMUM. How can you be so incompetent ????? I truly can't understand.

The ending. GOD THAT ENDING, WHAT THE FUCK WAS TAHT ????? I'm really disappointed. I don't want to spoil it so I won't do that but god... why. Just why. I feel like they could've written a better explanation for all of the things that happened thorught the drama but instead went for a happy ending with poorly explained plot.

Overall, the two things I liked the most were the main couple and one of the songs, Fallin'. The rest was just poorly written and delivered.

Lovely family dynamics

Another great korean drama to just watch and enjoy. I watched it with my whole family and we all loved it.

I think Byung Kyu was the best choice to portray SoMun, he fits his character so well. The innocence that spark through his eyes, his willness to do anything to just protect the people he loves the most, his energy to just learn new things and learn from his experiences. I loved his character the most and it made me empathize with him a lot.

One of the best things of this drama are the family dynimics between the counters. I love when dramas include this trop of "new found family" and I love it even more when they carry out well. A good drama needs to have good characters in order to develop the story, and I think this one did a great job.

But certainly the best of best about this drama was the antagonist. I think Chung Shin's character did a great job at portraying a good villan and also making us feel sorry for him. I'm not justifyng his actions but I loved learning about his rough childhood and how he grew up.

I'm just happy that The uncanny counter is getting a second season cause I think the drama deserves it.

shattered heart

Can't even begin to explain how this drama made me feel. It's been a while since I last cried so much.

I don't want to drag on and write a long ass review cause I can't put my thoughts in order.

What I liked the most about this drama was the chemistry between the two main characters, they made my heart pound so much. Their scenes are simply beautiful.

The last two episodes broke my heart, and I can't even explain all the things I felt when finishing it. I literally cried for half an hour, that's how broken and shattered my heart was.

The other thing that I liked the most was the ost, the musicalization in general. Good choices, good tracks that go along with the scenes. Beautiful.

Don't know what else to say, it's a good drama to just cry and cry. Though the story is good and it made me suffer a lot, the best of the drama are the characters themselves.

It's never too late

The way this drama conveyed such a meaningful story in such short amount of episodes amazes me. I wasn't expecting for this story to hit too close to home because ballet isn't one of my favorite things to be honest, but as you keep watching you get to understand that ballet is only the first layer, and that the stories of the characters go beyond that.

The dynamic between Chae Rok and Deok Chul is fantastic from the beginning. They truly complement each other so well and I love how Deok Chul helps Chae Rok to leave his comfort zone and explore the world. They form such a lovely relationship, almost like father and son. And I really love how, at the end, Chae Rok is truly invested in making Deok Chul perform in front of a whole audince like if it was his own dream. They learnt so much from each other, so much values and feelings. They got me crying in every episode. They really reminded me of the days I'd spent with my grandparents, it made me so happy.

Heo Bom's storyline is the other thing that I really liked. His character changes so much throughout the 12 episodes. He ends up understanding his own feelings and forgiving himself and Chae Rok's father in a certain way. When he showed up at the end in the theater, uffff I was crying so hard, I was so proud of him.

Though romance is rarely touched in this drama, I found it really cute when they showed interactions between Chae Rok and Eun Ho. It made me so happy when Chae Rok encouraged her to persue happines and find her true passion.

I think every character in the story has a good development and arc, I'm truly happy with the cast the chose and each storyline.

She will know for sure

One of the reasons I wanted to watch this drama was Rowoon. I first saw him acting in Extraordinary you and I completely fell in love with him, his charisma, his acting, everything. I have to say, rom-coms suit him really well. His character has this natural charisma that makes you empathize with him and feel the same way he does. What I really liked about Hyun Seung is that he is really honest and sincere with his feelings for Song Ah from the very start and it only grows as the episodes went by. He had so much love to give and it really showed with the little gestures and the beutiful words. He was also very respectful and always tried to understand Song Ah's feelings, not trying to pressure her but always being honest with her.

The chemistry between Rowoon and Jin Ah is really cute, and I really like the way it evolves as the serie goes one, really liked their dynamics and cute and funny scenes they shared together.

OST, as always, on point. It's really hard to get wrong the soundtrack on a korean drama so I think they did a pretty good job with the songs.

About the gay-related trope, I would've really appreciated if they've deepened a little bit more. I would've really loved to see how things developed as that topic surfaced and how it would've affected the people involved and the protagonist of the situation itself. But, as I know South Korea is still getting accustomed to these kind of topics, I'm glad they even thought about it and put it as a subplot.

Also, I'm really glad that Jae Shin and Hyo Joo didn't end up together. That relationship was very toxic and I'm really happy they both realised that and moved on with their lives. They ended up on good terms and they both can find happyness again with other people.

The only thing I felt a little off was the time skip on the last episodes, and I also feel like everything was solved really quickly. Other than that I think this drama is easy to watch and enjoy. The couple has good chemistry, the other characters are good as well.

That ending...

I genuinely don't know what to say. It was going so well and then... I just can't accept the fact that the writers decided that THAT was a good ending.

I have a theory tho. Jun's mother never specifically said that Jun was dead BUT she didn't deny it either, and that's what pisses me the most. I think Jun was unaware of what his mother was doing and he then knew the truth years later... but it just... if that's what really happened, I can't believe his mother was, at the end, the cruelest of them all.
And if that's not the case, and he planned all of this with his mother, I... If he did that, I'd be more pissed with the writers cause that's something that Jun's character would NEVER do, NEVER. It's not coherent with his character at all.

I can't think of other explanations, but I'm so mad that the writers ruined such a good drama with that shitty ending. Yes, I'm happy he's alive but the whole reason his death was hidden from Rara, I just don't understand it.

Okay, but besides that rant hahaha It's my first time seeing Jae wook's acting and I'm surprised. He's such a good actor at such a young age, I fell in love with him the moment he appeared on screen. I'd like to watch more of his dramas in the future.

A drama to just chill

I'm too lazy to write a long review, but I'm here to say that:
1) the best character of this whole story is Rang. I love his arch and the way his character develops through the story;
2) the ost is absolutely beautiful;
3) the most beautiful thing about this drama is the relationship between Rang and Yeon, and how it evolves throug out the episodes;
4) it's a good drama to just enjoy and learn a little about korean folklore (that's one of the reasons I started watching in the first place).

The story in general is intresting and keeps you wanting to watch the following episodes. If you just want to chill and watch a little of Dongwook and Kibum, this is a great opportunity to do it.

Perfect timing

For me, I think Start up came into my life at the perfect time. This drama really gave me the joy I needed in my life.
I won't go much into detail but it's one of the dramas I enjoyed the most.

Acting on point, I think the cast is amazing. I really like the dynamics that develop through out the story between the original members of Samsan Tech and the new ones.

Also, it shows how much budget this drama had, and I'm not complaining.

I'd say the storyline is pretty cliche, but who doesn't love a good cliche? Really enjoyed the family dynamcis as well as friendships and love interests.

Again, the thing that standed out the most for me was the ost. Gaho did it once again with the main theme of the drama, as well as the companion songs that were as beautiful as the latter. Truly amazing.

A time for healing

Honestly one of the best korean dramas I've ever seen. Everything's a solid 10. It's rare to find k-dramas that deal with topics of mental health and this one did and excellent job. Plus the chemistry between the couple and the other characters in general it's amazing. It's been a couple of days since I finished it but I still feel empty on the inside. I got so emotionally attached to the characters that it's hard to let go of their story. Definently will rewatch it in the summer when I have time.

A must watch

WOW! Just wow, this drama truly caught me off guard. Honestly I started watching it without knowing a single thing and all I can say is that I'm so glad I watched it.

From start to end, this drama does something that not many kdramas do, and that is to talk about topics that are realistic and that happen in every-day life. In other words, topics that must ! be ! talked ! about ! They took the leap and touched themes such as sexual harrasment, workplace harassment, patriarchy, feminism, conservative families and their traditions, and so on. I love, LOVE, that this drama openly talks and critics the role of women in society and how we are downgraded to be just "housemaids that need to serve their husbands". I was truly surprised when these topics started to show up because it's so rare to se a kdrama talk about such topics.

The character, ufffff, cheff kisses. I really liked how we got this huge range of characters and personalities, how they would distinguish from one another, how they complemented each other. Soo Ji was my favourite by far, this strong woman that wants to go against the world. I loved how she criticized the "normal" things of life, the "things that a woman must do". She didn't want to be the woman that society expected her to be. And I loved how she teached Sang Goo certain things that aren't meant to be normal in a relationship. Truly amazing her character.

Chemistry between the couples in general is very cute. I really liked how Se Hee and Ji Ho's relationship develops throughout the episodes, and I'm really happy with how things turned out in the end. Above all, I really liked how Se Hee's characters evolves until the end, and starts to be more easy-going and enjoys life more than before.

This is the kind of drama that teaches you important stuff about life, how to take into consideration other people's heart and feelings, and above all, how to love yourself first and respect yourself in order to care about others. I'm so happy I finally watched it with out expecting too much, because it surprised me even more. A must watch in my opinion.

Rewatching it for the 3rd time

Needless to say this is my favorite korean drama. It's the drama I've watched the most and honestly it's my happy pill. The chemistry between the main couple is extraordinary, loved how the relationship evolves as the episodes go by. Really love the mix of thriller, romance and comedy that this drama has. I watched it in a blink of an eye cuase it's really addicting. Will keep rewatching it in the future cause it's the drama I always come back to, and honestly I'll hardly get tired of watching it.

A must watch for everyone

I think most of us came to this web drama because of the scene in the classroom. And I'm really glad I finally watch it.

I think everyone should watch it and learn a few things from it. It touches upon important topics that are not even mentioned in regular dramas, and they do it in the span of ten minutes, it's amazing. The messages are clear and straight-forward, I really like it.

It made me reflect on a lot of things and situations. It's also a great web drama to just watch in one sit and enjoy.

Mindblowing

How do I start this review? I honestly wanted to watch SKY Castle cause I wanted to know why people were praising it so much. I let the hype died down a little and I even came late to the party as I'm watching almost three years later since it came out, but I can say with my hand in my heart that I have cero regreats. It was totally worth the 20 episodes.

It's been so long since I last watched such a raw and cruel drama. The story itself is so twisted, and I love how it shows what a person is capable of doing to achieve their goals. In this story, I dare to say that the adults are the scariest people, what they are willing to do, even walk over others, to achieve everything they want.

This drama gave me the biggest, scariest and longest goosebumps ever. I couldn't believe what my eyes were watching, what I was hearing. The cruelty of every character, how selfless they were, I literlly cried of pure anger and frustration.

One of the things I liked the most about this story is the development of the characters, the difference between who they were when it started vs. how they grew up as the story was concluding. The characters themselves were amazing, each and everyone. The antagonists, the secondary characters, the main cast themselves, everything fitted well and was done excelently.

But certainly what I loved the most about this drama was the message they were trying to convey. How obsession with education and with being the number one can drive you crazy, how society imposes this idea that evevryone has to graduate from school and go to college otherwise you are no one, how greed can make you do the scariest things, even get you killed. I love how raw this story is, and how it shows the true faces of people.

I don't know what else to say, those 20 episodes are totally worth it, every second of it. I will probably rewatch it in the future.

All my braincells are dead (in a good way)

THIS DRAMA, my god this drama took all my brain power to process. The story is so delicated written and the threads are so well threaded that it takes all your attention to fully understand what's happening.

I started watching this drama with cero expectations and got extremely surprised when I finished it. I love a well-written thriller / suspense plot and I can totally agree that this drama reached the bar.

Honestly I'm at a loss for words cause I don't know what to say. The story is fantastic, it has layers and layers of situations that connect with each other. Just when you thought that you got all figured it out, the contrary happens and all your theories are thrown to the trash. You can't even trust the main protagonists. More than one time I was at the edge of my sit, making all my braincells work to try figuring out what the hell was happening.

The relationship between the main team is just absolutely adorable. The trust they have in each other, they are willing to sacrifice their own lives just for the sake of the others. It felt like a family the way they protected each other.

I feel like each character suit the actor. The performances were amazing, the chemistry, everything. I'm very happy with the final result.

Latly, the suspense. MY GOD THE SUSPENSE. I couldn't take a breathe with all that happens. Heart beating so fast, my mind working at 10000km p/h trying to solve the misteries, the nerves at their highest point, the rush of adrenaline. Amazing.

Truly one of the best dramas of 2020.
