It is not a bad drama; supporting cast acted better than lead actresses.

The Magical Women tells the story of two single mothers, Su Fei and An Ning, who have very different personalities but band together because of the breakdown in their relationships and families.

It is a 20 episodes drama starting with Qin Lan as Su Fei and Deng Jia Jia as An Ning. I enjoyed the Cdrama because it is short, and the script is decent but predictable.

Qin Lan is a good actress, and she always played a strong-minded career woman in previous dramas I had watched where she was the FL. She played a similar role where her character does talk much, especially regarding her relationship with her lover/husband. She plays a weak woman who doesn't speak up but quietly seeks revenge in the background.

I didn't like her character much in this drama because it made her a bad mom to her daughter. However, I commended the young actress Co Co Chen who played her daughter. She acted so well, and she has great potential in the future.

I also liked Wu Xiao Liang in a supporting role as Yang Kai, who is funny, cheap, considerate, and supporting Yu Fei.

Tian Yi Tong is being typed cast as playing a mistress-type role; this is not the first drama where she plays the same character, in this one as Ding Man Man, who was a mistress to Yu Fei's husband.

Overall, it is not a bad drama; I am giving it a 7.5 rating.

A mediocre RomCom with not so good acting, and the last 5 episodes were good

"I Belonged to Your World" initially was slowed and draggy, and the Judy Qi is being typed cast. She played a similar role in many of the RomCom dramas and is not a good actress. She is a C-rated actress, and the same for the two ML and supported cast.

However, I am glad I stuck with it because the last 5 episodes were decent. I was happy that the drama only had 20 episodes, with 30 minutes for each episode.

I am not into time travel, but the plot in this one is not bad, and the acting of Liu Yi Tong in this drama was much better than the one he played in "My Eternal Star."

The last 5 episodes were touching, and I think Judy Qi did a good job as her character went through the grief of losing her son. Overall, it is an okay drama, giving it a 6.0 rating.

Very cheesy RomCom and bad acting for the entire cast

"My Eternal Star" is a RomCom about a stiff, control-freak gaming CEO and a cheerful designer.

The plot is so stupid, and the acting was mediocre. The production quality is bad with too much bright light, especially in closed-up scenes where the lead actor/actress almost kisses.

The 2nd ML and FM leads are annoying as well. The only good thing about this drama is that it is short, 22 episodes. It could be shorter. I am in 13 episodes already, and the two have not truly kissed yet. They both are incapable of communicating their feeling for each other, so It is very annoying.

I am giving it a 5.0 rating because it is watchable, killing time while I wait for a better Cdrama to be released.

An interesting Mystery Romance Drama but the last 4 episodes were a disappointment

My Lethal Man is a mystery romance drama starting not well-known actors and actresses with backgrounds in supporting roles in other C-dramas.

The production quality is so bad; everything is so bright, especially during the kissing scenes. I am not sure why Chinese dramas always do that for cheap quality productions on streaming platforms like iQiyi, Tencent, MangoTV, etc.

I enjoyed the mystery aspect of the drama when the ML tried to solve the 17-year-old car accident that took his family's life. The plot was interesting until the last 4 episodes when things went wrong and stupid.
Even though it has a happy ending, the way it unraveled was so bad, and the acting was not great for either of the entire cast.

The FL does a better job than the ML, and the supporting CPs were not great. Some of the songs in the OST were good.

I am giving it a 6.5 because of the music and the first 20 episodes.

It’s refreshing to see Physical comedy in a RomCom genre

My Uncanny Destiny is a surprising and fun RomCom. I have not seen many good physical comedy-drama from China, so it is refreshing to see one.

My first time watching Yan Zi Xian and Zhang Yue Nan in leading roles. They both did a decent job in this drama. The supporting cast was fun too. There are quite a few kissing scenes for the main CP and two supporting CPs.

I find it enjoyable, and there are a few laughable moments. I can't wait to see how Liu Xuan Ming feels when he discovers that Ye Zhao Nan is his enemy and is a woman.

I have watched 16 episodes already and can't wait to see how it reveals in the end. The production quality is not bad either.

I am changing my rating from 7.5 to 7,0 because I did not like the last two episodes.

Love this drama - a slow-burn but a mature and respectful love relationship

I love "Flight to You," and I love actress Seven Tan. I first watched her in "Go Ahead" in 2020 and thought she was a good actress, and I have followed her ever since.

I have not watched anything that Wang Kai was in until now. He is a decent and handsome actor. I may check him out again in future drama.

What I like about Flight to You are the following:
- Cheng Xiao and Gu Nanting are very interesting characters, and Seven Tan and Wang Kai played them well.
- It is an interesting story about a female pilot and the scrutiny she has to go through in a male-dominated field. It was great to see how she overcame it.
- Their love story is mature, respectful, and slow-burn, so it was great to see the progression of their relationship.
- I think the drama would be better at 35 episodes, and I didn't like the ending. I was hoping it would show that they got married, but instead, it hinted that they were moving in together. She is off flying while he remains on the ground.
- The production quality of the show is quite good.

Overall, I enjoyed it very much; the acting skills were good, both from the lead actor/actresses and the supporting cast. I give it a 7.8 rating, but I have to choose 7.5 since the site does not support it.

Good onscreen chemistry between main CP, but nothing special with the plot.

You Are My Lover Friend is a RomCom drama that starts with Zhang Xin Cheng as Jiang Shi Yan and Wang Yu Wen as Tang Yang. The main CPs were friends and buddies in high school who lasted through their university days, as well as working professionals.

No one believes they would turn into lovers, not even their besties and mothers.

Synopsis: Tang Yang and Jiang Shi Yan were high school classmates and have been close friends for ten years. After finishing school, they passionately pursued careers in bank credit review and new media communication. Tang Yang helped the families of military martyrs start businesses in her small loan job. Inspired by their perseverance, Jiang Shi Yan made a documentary about their stories, which gained widespread attention. Throughout this journey, the trust and understanding they developed during their teenage years endured various challenges. They blossomed into a sincere and beautiful love. They went from being classmates and friends to becoming partners, building a family, and facing life together.

My Reviews:
1. Nothing special in the story. It has been done so many times in Cdrama land.
2. I like the main CP because they are talented actors.
2nd CP is most adorable and funny, especially the 2nd ML
3. The third CP should not have been part of the story. There is no chemistry, and the actress must be younger than the guy.
4. The moms are funny, too.
5. Overall, it is okay. It took too long for the main CP to get together until the last 3 to 4 episodes. It was draggy, and I was annoyed to see it take so long.
6. It would be better with 24 episodes instead of 30, but their onscreen chemistry was good.

It is a good coming to age melodrama about friendship and community.

Wind Direction is a melodrama about growing up between Cheng Miao Miao and Li Si and their families in a small town where everyone knows each other. It starts with Sun Qian as Miao Miao, Zhai Zi Lu as Li Si, Liu Lin as Jia Dai Yu, and Tian Yu as Cheng Peng Fei.

The entire ensemble's acting was exceptional. At times, it was quite draggy as the plot unfolded, but overall, it was a great story about growing up as they learned how to maneuver over life's unexpected events.

Synopsis: 17-year-old Cheng Miao Miao and her brother, 16-year-old Cheng Ya Ya, were born in the No. 1 Oil production plant of Linqi Oilfield. Three generations of their family are oilfield workers. Their father, Cheng Peng Fei, is an otolaryngologist, and their mother, Jia Dai Yu, is a team logistics. The family moved from the northwest to the seaside base, Heping Town, in the late 1990s. Miao Miao, with a yearning for the outside world, pulled her childhood sweetheart Li Si and her best friend Hu Qiu Min, intending to use the summer vacation of her first year in high school to start the adventure of "going to Hong Kong to welcome the city's return to the motherland," but failed.
On the other hand, her brother Cheng Ya Ya went to the back mountain for archaeology. He was almost mistaken for a tomb robber. Mother Jia Dai Yu often felt worried, and the siblings began their high school life full of chaotic moments. Cheng Miao Miao fell into a friendship crisis with Li Si. In Cheng Ya Ya's class, a newly transferred student named Yuan Shan Qing is the daughter of a wanted criminal. Ya-Ya was the first to stand up and resist the hostility from all sides against Yuan Shan Qing. The children ushered in growth in the changes.

My Reviews:
1. Great acting from the entire cast and a good storyline.
2. It has so many twists that it was unexpected.
3. It also shows how Miao Miao, her brother, and Li Si dealt with life's difficult situations.
4. The community supported each other in bad times and good times.
5. It is a good tears jerker as well.
6. I give it a 7.5 rating.

A good action crime drama with many twists. Acting is okay not great but plot is good.

The First Shot starts with Johnny Huang and Wang Zi Qi as policemen in a Narcotics Control Bureau as they investigate, solve, and arrest the drug lords.

The plot is good, with many twists, but it is a typical role that Johnny Huang is good at. He has no range as an actor, and this type of genre best suits him. The bad guy was unexpected until the end.

Synopsis: Tells the story of Halan in the Northeast in 1997, before the establishment of the Narcotics Control Bureau. Faced with a sudden drug crisis, a makeshift elite team is assembled, each with their own strengths but clueless about the new drug... As they confront the ruthless drug trafficking syndicate and unravel their devious and bizarre drug trafficking schemes, they must also navigate the moral dilemmas of love and law and the tests of justice and humanity. They stand by each other and overcome all obstacles and challenges, forging a heroic legend of fighting evil and upholding justice.

My Reviews:
1. Good acting from the supporting cast; the two MLs did an okay job.
2. The story is good but needs to be clearer, and it takes too long to get to the bad guy.
3. There is good action and a storyline, but it would be better to do it in 24 episodes instead of 32. I watched in 1.5 speed
4. I give it a 7.5 rating.

Good melodrama about family and the support of siblings when they deal with life's curve balls.

Our Days is a melodrama about three sisters who experience difficulty in their careers and marriages and how they come together to support each other through difficult times. The drama starts with Bai Bai He (as an older sister), Li Chun (as a middle sister), and Wang Yu Wen (as the baby sister.) It was refreshing to see Wang Yu Wen plays a domestically abused wife, which is different from her other rom-com characters.

I enjoyed the drama very much, especially the acting of the three female leads. Overall, I give it a 7.5 rating.

Synopsis: Xiang Zhi Jun has three daughters living in cities: Shanghai, Kunshan, and Suzhou. His eldest daughter, Xiang Qian, is 35 years old and has made significant progress in her career. The middle daughter, Xiang Zhong, is 31 and is actively striving to build her future. The youngest daughter, Xiang Nan, is 26, with a pure and romantic personality. The marriages of all three daughters face setbacks, leading the sisters to support and encourage each other. With their parents' guidance and advice, Xiang Zhong breaks free from her unreasonable in-laws and regains her confidence in managing her marriage. Xiang Qian sees through the hypocrisy of her husband, Gao Ping, and rediscovers her direction in both her career and life. Xiang Nan also overcomes her confusion and gains a more mature and clear understanding of marriage and herself.

My Reviews:
1. Good acting and script.
2. It is refreshing to see Wang Yu Wen in a mature and weak role.
3. The male characters in this drama are useless men. This is a good 4. lesson for women to choose the right mates; otherwise, their lives will be miserable.
5. I give it a 7.5 rating.

The acting was exceptional by main CP but the storyline went downhill at mid-point.

Kill Me Love Me is a WuXia drama that starts with Liu Xue Yi (as Jing He) and Wu Jin Yan (as Mei Lin.) The drama begins with a good story of rivalry between the crown prince, Xuan Lie, and his brother, Jing He. The Qingzhou princess (Mei Lin) tries to seek revenge on her parents, who were burned to death.

The acting was exceptional between the main CP however, the acting of the 2nd CP was awful, especially the acting of Baron Chen (the crown prince). He only has one expression and the same stoic looks for a dramatic and cold demeanor. His lover, the female general, did not act well either. After the crown prince's death, the storyline went downhill from there. It was so stupid and unbearable. I finished it quickly just to see the acting of the main CP.

Overall, I give it a 7.0 rating. Wu Jin Yan's character is much better in The Double Drama.

Synopsis: Prince Murong Jing He of the Great Yan Dynasty led his Weibei Army to reclaim Qingzhou, a lost territory. His triumphant victory should have been a moment of glory. Still, soon after his army entered the city, a devastating fire broke out. Whispers spread throughout Qingzhou, accusing Murong Jing He of harboring a grudge against the people for their alleged betrayal of Great Yan. Rumor had it that the prince, now known as the ruthless "Butcher General," ordered the city to be burned. In the flames, a young girl named Mei Lin lost her entire family. Heartbroken and consumed by vengeance, she vowed to kill the one responsible for the massacre. She joins a secret organization known as the Shadow Works, where she undergoes years of brutal training after consuming a deadly poison that turns her into an unstoppable assassin. Mei Lin's first mission is finally assigned: to assassinate her greatest enemy, Prince Murong Jing He himself. Disguised as one of a hundred Xiyan beauties sent to the Great Yan as part of a political marriage alliance, she patiently waits for her chance to strike. But Mei Lin doesn't know that the man who masterminded her entire assassination mission—setting her on this path of revenge—is none other than Murong Jing He himself.

My Reviews:
1. Good acting but a bad script.
2. The 2nd CP cannot act.
3. The storyline went downhill after the mid-point
4. I give it a 7.0 rating.

It is not a typical Republican-Era drama. Lot of actions and good acting from two ML

Dark Night and Dawn is a Republican-era drama that starts with Chen Zhe Yuan and Nie Yuan. I liked the drama; Chen Zhe Yuan played a different character from his usual rom-com. He is mischievous, talkative, street-smart, and kind-hearted in this drama.

Xing Fei plays a minor role in this drama, and there is no romance between her and Zhe Yuan's characters. The drama focused more on the work of the two ML characters (Lin Shao Bai and Lu Zheng Yang.) The acting is good, and the plot is okay. It is a bit long, and the bad guy, Zheng Lan Ting, took too long to capture because they dragged the drama longer than it should have been. It would be a better drama if it completes in 30-32 episodes.

Synopsis: It tells the story of the first generation of public security soldiers in Shanghai around 1950, who struggle against Chiang Kai-shek's secret agents' attempt to overthrow the New China. It revolves around two men teaming up: an intelligent young cop who is unsuccessful in the old society but is reborn and matures in New China and an old and experienced Chinese Communist Party agent.

My Reviews:
1. Good acting and a decent script.
2. The story focuses on the two ML characters and their working relationship as they investigate and capture Zheng Lan Ting.
3. No romance at all between Lin Shao Bai and Jin Yan.
4. Overall, it is watchable. I give it a 7.5 rating.

It is nice to see Tong Da Wei branch out to play bad guy instead of good guy in other dramas.

Interlaced Scenes is a crime drama and another light-on series from iQiyi. The drama is predictable because of how it is presented in the first 1-3 episodes. By that time, I knew the ending because the writer, Gu Yu Ming, was a murderer. Episodes 4 to 16 are more fillers that review the investigations and the linkage between Gu Yu Ming and the victim.

Synopsis: Detectives Jiang Guang Ming and Shi Luo investigate a case when they discover that the crime scene resembles the crime scene from a novel by Gu Yu Ming. Fiction and reality get intertwined. Is it truly a coincidence?

My Reviews:
1. It is great to see Tong Da Wei branch out to play the bad guy instead of the good guy he has been playing in other dramas.
2. The drama focused more on Tong Da Wei's character than the actual FL and 2nd ML investigation scenes.
3. It would have been better if the drama had been cut to 12 episodes instead of 16. It was draggy and repetitive. I would like to see more evilness in Gu Yu Ming. Still, his character is an unsuccessful writer who plagiarizes a story and becomes famous with the help of his wealthy wife.

It is not a bad crime drama, so I give it a 7.0 rating.

A decent drama focused on the progression of grows into maturity of the FL.

The Tale of Rose is a melodrama about Huang Yi Mei's maturation over time through her choices of lovers, from a young college student to a career woman, and the lovers who passed through her life, including marriage and divorce.

Synopsis: Born in a scholarly family, Huang Yi Mei grew up carefully sheltered, like a flower in a greenhouse. From a young age, she showed her talents in the arts and thrived after entering the workplace. From there, she meets Zhuang Guo Dong, and they fall in love. However, due to fate, the two are ultimately separated by the pressures of life. After undergoing this tumultuous period of work and heartbreak, Huang Yi Mei grows and slowly understands the path she wants to take. Her decision to further her education and her subsequent marriage and divorce from Fang Xie Wen are all part of her emotional journey. As she starts her own business within the field of art curation and meets her soulmate, Pu Jia Ming, the audience can't help but empathize with her. However, Pu Jia Ming is terminally ill and only has a few months left to live. Death's scythe ultimately cuts the red string of love between them. Despite her grief and pain, Huang Yi Mei ultimately looks forward to the future, living her life most fully and dazzlingly.

My Reviews:
1. The story is okay, and the flow of the drama is good. It was good to see Huang Yi Mei's progression as she matured and made decisions that fit her needs and happiness.
2. The acting is decent from the entire ensemble. I particularly like the 2nd FL (Wan Qian, who played Su Geng Sheng). Her acting ability is better than that of FL, Liu Yi Fei.
3. The drama has some elements of comedy, so it does not feel draggy.

I like the drama overall and give it a 7.5 rating for good acting and a decent script.
