LOVED IT SO MUCH

There were many negative reviews on this one but this most comes from international viewers, since many don't tend to watch long running weekend family dramas and have high expectations. I watched this ever since the start week after week and it's honestly the best family drama I've watched not in terms of story (!!) . The story was meh as people say because it does not have many dramatic plotholes or out of the ordinary. But it's worth your time if you go and appreciate this show as its own, family, friendship, love, comedy, forgiveness, and abit of revenge plots here and there but it isn't HUGE. This drama is purely warmth and love, we watch villains in this drama and some go through huge character developments along the way and change for the better. You will cry for the antagonists. You will cry for the protagonists. Chemistry between all couples and families is amazing and the cast is really the best, they all look like actual families. I've really grown attached to this family and show. The last 2 episodes made me cry alot, was really touching. Proud to say this is one of my life dramas (인생드라마) . Loved it alot alot. I'll miss Samgwang alot.

didn't know i would love it so much..

WHERE DO I BEGIN???? This was an absolute masterpiece, definitely one of the best dramas in 2021, it was super worth the wait, ever since it was announced I was waiting for this. (I personally enjoyed this more than squid game, oops) EXPECTED FROM THE DIRECTOR OF EXTRACURRICULAR THIS WOULD BE GOOD AS WELL. If I have the option to give it a 11/10 I would honestly, I don't even know how to express how good this is LOL. Action-packed show, super fun super gore, filled with action fun and bloody scenes. PLS Sohee's ACTING HERE IS PHENOMENAL, I'm not even kidding, her acting is so top notch, she deserves nothing but all the awards she can get for this show alone, she didn't work so hard without a stuntman and risk her health just for nothing, because she really did so well, I never complimented someone's acting so much before but damn Han Sohee, she is just so good, really. The other actors did well as well. I won't say much about the stories and the plot twists here and there, the story alone looking from the synopsis, looks very common / original, nothing new, but please GIVE THIS A WATCH. Rewatch value is definitely a 10/10. My Name, lived beyond my expectations.

Hate to say this but Netflix doesn't disappoint

"I detest young offenders" - I somehow agree with it LOL. Although everyone deserves second chances but sometimes it just shows that you shouldn't be lenient with all minors just because they are minors, they will not learn their lessons and their mistakes and grow up to be monsters if you continue to let them go and let them think that "oh, so I can commit this crime and I won't get caught at all" and they will commit more and more crimes and each time it gets worse. Honestly got quite pissed when I saw the kids laughing away after killing people. Coming again with another well written series by Netflix. What I'm seeing now is that the show is criminally underrated for now, not many viewers are watching this, not sure whether more people will start watching this after a few days as this was just released few hours ago. But this show was really nice, it shows and depicts the many different social issues surrounding young offenders. Though it's not the first time a drama has done this but this one was quite well written. It was really entertaining and engaging so I binged it in one whole sitting. :) Kim Hye Soo done a great job as a Judge, likewise in Hyena as a lawyer. She really suits playing characters relating to law haha. GOOD SERIES OK TRUST ME!! Very good law drama and unique theme of young offenders, give it a try.

Edit: It is now sitting at #1 spot for many countries on Netflix.

Despite all the hate comments and the negative reviews, this is actually quite good, it was super fun to watch despite some scenes having the 'cliche-cringe' sitcom scenes, but that's exactly what it was supposed to be. It wasn't a heavy watch, with only around 35 minutes per episode and just watching it for fun, isn't really story heavy dominated. Cast were definitely good as well, some were acting for the first time but it was pretty good for their firsts ! Minnie and Youngjae did a great job too. You should definitely give it a try if you just want laughs and a short light watch .. Waiting for Season 2 ^^ I do agree that some laugh tracks at the background was edited wrongly at the wrong times but that's just a minor thing it really doesn't affect anything. Also many cameos with Haha, Kang Ho Dong, Yoon Jong Shin, Lee Soo Geun, and more.. (u shld know them if u watch variety shows )

Pretty good for a sageuk

Not bad for a comical sageuk, I knew casting Lee Yikyung would mean this show would be funny, however not as funny as Mr Queen, it has light comedy and light romance. This drama started off quite shaky to be honest, like it was messy all around and I couldn't really understand what was going on until Episode 7 where they somehow gave us a summary as a commentary before the episode started which helped us sum up what pretty much happen and that cleared my doubts. (I never seen such a commentary summary before wth??) Then it started to get more interesting from there onwards. The way Igyeom (Myungsoo) shows up as the royal agent with his horse tablet is pretty funny and cool HAHA. Their love story bloomed in the later part but there was not alot of romance in this, ended off pretty good with them being the same trio setting off for another mission..

A healing new year vibed movie

Lighthearted romance filled with balanced comedy, the cast was amazing and plot was slow at first but slowly gained momentum and hooked me on in the later part. Was lightheated, kind of slice-of-life movie, with 4 different couple's stories, which all characters are linked to each other but not really as not all the cast was in one scene altogether. Ending was quite vague, making me think there will be a season 2 but that doesn't seem plausible. Casting Chen Duling with Yeom Hyeran was absolutely hilarious ! Also, this movie kind of gave 'Run-On' vibes with Sooyoung in it.

Definitely a new & fresh concept ^^

This drama was definitely a stepping stone to more similar Kdramas in the future with this 'interview' type of concept. The starting was quite slow but started to get better and addicting from Episode 8 onwards. I like the concept of them having an interview while talking about their love stories, this drama also implemented some comedic elements so it wouldn't be as plain or boring. I don't really like how they wrapped up Rin-i and Kyeong Jun's story though, they were doing good until the end where they just broke up abruptly and no news from them onwards, it was quite disappointing. Was also hoping for Seon Young and Geon to get back together too along with Rin-i and Kyeong Jun. This drama tells us many love lessons and many life stories so it was interesting to see that. At the end they showed us another character story, so maybe hoping for a Season 2? Overall, a good drama. THE CINEMATOGRAPHY . Its so good, beach scenes were also aesthetically pleasing, the snow scenes, the raining scenes. It was healing. Chemistry between the actors and actresses too !!!!! The cast was amazing, Changwook and Jiwon.. wow , they did it again, they pulled off another good one.

Hmm.. I would say it was average at its best, or at most a 9.. for a Netflix production, idk if it was just me but it felt like it could have easily passed off as a normal drama produced by tv companies like SBS, KBS, MBC etc LOL maybe cos it was more like a common makjang we see? like if it wasn't produced by Netflix, it couldve been a normal length 16 ep drama by any of the companies, but the plot didn't need such a draggy runtime so 8 is quite okay.
I felt like the drama only took off after Ep 3, altho it was only 60 mins each ep, idk but it felt really slow, at least to me. it wasn't EXTRAORDINARY-ly good (like there is nothing really special or that anything stands out) but it's not bad, a short makjang revenge drama done well i guess.

GREAT LIPSTICK GREAT DRAMA

A solid 9.5/10. Many people didn't enjoy it as much as me, I have to admit this was an average drama, but I really enjoyed it. This melodrama is light hearted, it has office romance, light comedy. First 2 episodes got me thinking it was a revenge drama, but it wasn't haha I was thrilled at first because it was quite intense. Hyunseung (Rowoon) [ML] was bold and risky in the first few episodes because Song-ah had a boyfriend (Jin-ah) [FL] but her boyfriend was getting married to another woman (what the..) yea. and ML had a crush on FL but they soon fell in love while trying to fake their relationship to get back at her former boyfriend. Then it slowly drifted away from the revenge side of the story to just pure romance, It didn't seem like a melodrama at first but it turned into one, judging from the cinematography and music. Personally, I loved this drama but it was just average but I'll give it a 9.5 since I enjoyed it alot, yall should give this drama a chance if you just want to smile. You will smile alot HAHA, and also the finale ending with the purple sky was so aesthetically pleasing, just like the first poster of this drama. idk why they changed it to the stiff photoshoot at the office. Plot was predictable though, but this drama was just for the smiles. :) You don't need to focus much on the plot on this one. You might get bored though, you will enjoy it if you feel a connection with the leads.

ALSO go listen to the OST u won't regret it.

Initially a perfect 10/10 or even more

From Ep.1 , I wanted to rate this show a 10/10. Everything was good, perfect. It was the nicest romcom we ever gotten for a very long time, story is cliche, yes, but it was still good nonetheless. The cast is also perfect, they had perfect chemistry with each other and the OST were also damn good, especially with Yuri's Story of Us. This show was a perfect 10/10 only from Ep 1 to 15. Ep 16 lost my 0.5 rating, ep 16 was not it. A sudden unnecessary conflict just barged in from out of nowhere and ruined the episode, (spoiler) the main couple did not end up together because of that conflict, they missed each other and met again but they probably stayed as friends(?). NOPE. It was as if you enjoyed 15 episodes with them being lovey dovey, but just breaks up because of that small issue. I don't know what the writer was thinking for the last episode. I understand that the story does not revolve around their relationship, but also friendships, work life balance, a 'home', which was most important to the story's values. But we definitely could not ignore the romantic relationship between the main couple, it was ruined. There was never once a boring moment in the show, it was sooo nice, the comedy, the romance, everything was nice. Also kept telling my friend to watch this but the last episode, smh. This is the first time a show actually made me disappointed with their ending, especially for a romcom, the happy ending we all anticipated for didn't happen. But in all case, this show doesn't deserve such a low rating either, if you watch it from the first episode to the 15th episode, then it's perfect. Writer-nim, why did you ruin the last episode... it's really a waste.. damn it.

Ep 1-15: 11/10
Ep 16: 5/10

What seemed to be like an light comedy turned dark very quickly. I'm not sure if this is Hwanhee's first main role as an grown up but she really did so good here, her acting was wow ok wow. Although this is just 4 eps long, it's a very short drama that you can enjoy with your romcom, yet dark, a bit of thrill, revenge plot and slice-of-life in one. Do recommend. Don't trust the average reviews that you see on MDL, it definitely is worth more than 7.8. Do give it a try, it's only 4 episodes long so it only requires you 4 hours of your time. The OST is great as well, has that Extracurricular type of vibes with their rock kind of music. I think this drama opens your eye to those who feel like that they are miserable, to live your life to the fullest, and be happy.

here to defend the series

hahaha yes im giving this a 10 star review to defend this drama, not your best written family weekend drama but very entertaining and i absolutely love it, after homemade love story and once again, this sure lives up to the weekend slot by kbs. definitely not the best writing, it was quite trash but it was entertaining nonetheless, as we deal with the stupid troupes the writer threw at us each week. iconic ost that has been charting on melon by youngwoong, and splendid viewership ratings in korea thats why it got extended to 52 episodes. sehee instantly became one of my favorite actresses after watching her here, after live on. she did a great job here and she will be continue to expand her career from here onwards. honestly thought it wouldnt end so quick but we are here already with few more eps left till the finale. maybe this isnt well received on mdl bcos there are many new watchers that are new to family weekend or daily soap operas, and this being their first one may not appeal to them but it is a great choice to see what these dramas are and how it works. 10/10 ylag, will def miss the drama..

okay, this drama is quite hard to rate tbh. at first i hyped this alot. ep 1 and 2 was written really well , you can't deny that. but the progressive eps were kinda draggy, it seemed like there were alot filler eps just to fill in for the 16 ep gap, and they dragged the main plot out for too long, there was nothing new and it was still the same trying to seal the demon, including some obstacles here and there. there were times i was invested, yet there was times i looked away. but i have to say the plot is good, it really is good and very fresh but the con is they dragged it out for too long. this is easily one of the best sageuks if they didn't drag and filled in filler eps, but nevertheless, it was still enjoyable, but kim yoojung gets a bonus point from me. 9/10

Wow. As everyone has mentioned, this show was beautiful, it was touching, emotional, a bit of comedy here and there. It revolves around a son with Asperger's syndrome, that can't let go of his Dad. That's the main story, but the show is also based on a case-to-case basis where they do trauma cleaning for each deceased in each episode. Geu-ru was raised by the nicest parents, nicest dad ever, and he grew up to be a nice and kind guy too. It's beautiful to see. Then comes the Uncle who is involved in illegal gambling/boxing where he accidentally kills his best friend that's like a bro to him. Then we have the next door girl who has a crush on Geu-ru, Na-mu. Bubbly and cute girl, after Navillera, Seunghee did a great job. Jun Sang and Je Hoon did a great job acting here as well, the emotions especially Ji Jin Hee, wow. I didn't cry as much as I thought I would, but it's undoubtedly a very emotional and slice-of-life drama. Judging from the vague open-ending with Lee Re appearing, I think we can say we should have a Season 2, NETFLIX DO YOUR JOB. Also, seeing that 'Madam' got out safely, I think she still is planning something. I'll be waiting for my season 2, Netflix. This show was a 10/10.

So I had to write a review because of the bad ratings on MDL and bad reviews dropping it and stuff, first rule on this site is to never trust the ratings on MDL, this got 7.7 but it doesn't mean it's bad, sometimes you have to give it a try, many underrated shows on MDL is actually good, ok so this show is somewhat similar to Sweet Home, not trying to compare these two but yes both had almost similar vibe and story. I think you somewhat have to be emotional vulnerable to inhale the "black smoke" and become a mutant just like in SH where your greeds and desire are the ones that turn you into a monster. I agree that they somehow stretched the story and it became draggy but I think they wanted to create more tension and atmospheric vibe to it and more chasing scenes that's why it became draggy, but it's okay. Everything was okay, the OST was nice as well. But it was quite disappointing that they couldn't save Dong Rim :(( And that post credit scene where they show that a new sinkhole appeared in Yeouido.. I'm not sure if that's an opening to a Season 2 but I'll be glad to have one more. It's not that it's a cliffhanger but it's fun to watch yknow? I think Yujin (Dong Rim) did a great job here after acting in True Beauty, she looks damn pretty here. I also do agree that there were many unnecessary sub plots in the show, but I guess it did come all around in the end because it was related to Dong Rim with the hit and run and stuff. But I think we could have easily finished the show with like 10 episodes.
