Very cute! The story wasn't that strong because it had to stay pretty surface level. This is why BL dramas need to be longer! The plots, characters and relations always have loads of potential, but because they need to be shorter it can almost never get fulfilled. I liked the music company plot fine, but the conflict never gets deep and thus feels a bit ungenuine. The main leads are amazing! Sang Yi portrays his crush very well and is absolutely adorable. In Su shows a great arch (even more so in the last 2 episodes) and his inner conflict is well performed. For a drama centered on music, the title song didn't disappoint! It's a cute and mellow song that easily gets in your head and the duets in the drama are lovely.

A more mature BL drama that blends cute interactions and a suspenseful plot masterfully. The relationship between the main characters is very past faced, but this is made believable through the fact that they've been getting to know each other online and thus know each other quite well already. The drama is quite mature, with very suggestive scenes and load of blood, but it never felt cheap or done this way for attention grabbing as it fits well with the more mature mob plot.
The mob plot stays pretty surface-level, but it's well balanced and thought through with the flashbacks used.
I also adored the sister character.

3 words: pretty, genuine and heartbreaking

It's a very natural and real story, that's been brought to life by an amazing cast and crew. No unneeded drama or over-the-top B-plots in this, which I really appreciate. The whole story feels so real and progresses so normally, and that really elevates its quality.

This series has such. Amazing. Cinematography. The location, Phuket, is very well chosen to portray this slow and quiet story, with its just-busy-enough vibes and beautiful scenery. Not only the the scenery, but also the crew's camerawork is phenomenal. Just on aesthetics alone this has to be the most beautiful series I've seen so far. The angles, the colors and the way they portray emotions purely through the scene-placement is amazing. BIG props to the crew on that one.

Another really good thing about this series that doesn't really apply to the story/cast/etc. is the OST. Wow wow wow. The way the background music is used is so pretty. It's very interesting if you pay attention to it. Since a lot of series have one or two really good intro songs they use throughout, the usage of pretty instrumentals makes this series feel very unique. None of those goofy sound effects either, which would really take from the way this series makes you feel. Good call!

Of course, the cast was also really good. I didn't know the two leads had acted together before, before I watched this, but I did notice their genuine chemistry. The leads work really well together and make everything feel so much more natural. From friendship to their liking of each other, it really feels like watching two real people real feelings interact with one another.
Which of course makes this series stand out in the emotional side of things. I've seen series with wayyy more and/or bigger drama that yes, may have made me sad, but before this one I had never cried at them. It's the way these feelings feel so genuine and are placed in such a simple, but believable and natural, storyline that will really make you feel for and with the characters.

All in all, this is a series I would recommend to everyone who just wants to chill out and watch some friends fall in love (and maybe cry a little).
(P.S. don't mind my rewatch value score. I'm just not a big rewatcher)

You're either going to REALLY like it or hate it

Absolutely chaotic, and exactly what you need if you're looking for just nonsense entertainment. I started watching this because of Talay (Pun) since I really liked him in My Engineer. I liked the whole cast, but I rated it low because of the acting. It's not bad, and fits exactly with the route this show wanted to go so in that sense it's actually good! But I'm just not a big fan of overacting, so this comment is mainly towards the characters of the boss and minions (and also Yuri). YYY isn't funny per se, but that's okay. It doesn't brand itself as funny, but as carefree, ridiculous and extremely nonsensical. All of these things it does perfectly! The story itself isn't special, it just contains a lot of twists and turns which make it interesting. I like the overall vibe of it all, and it looks like the cast had a great time filming this, since it just looks like a group of friends doing some comedy improv. Last but not least, I LOVE the opening song. Like the show, it's just fun and nonsense but it honestly slaps.

One of the most enjoyable dramas I've ever watched!

I am absolutely crazy about this drama. The story is incredibly unique, it's done really well and the balance between flashbacks and the present felt just right.
The acting was sublime. The whole cast did amazing! The chemistry between the actors is no joke! And not only between the main couple (DeanPharm). All the side relationships' (KornIntouch and WinTeam) chemistry was jumping off the screen and even the friendship dynamics were unbelievable.
The story was a bit slow paced, but that only made the drama better in this case, as it meant I had more episodes to watch :))
Most of the time I get bored of OSTs really quick since writers of dramas quite like to just paste it all over. That wasn't different this time, but it was far more enjoyable. I even found myself humming the title song when I was just doing something else. That's how front and center this drama has been in my head.
Seeing, not only the characters, but the whole cast, interact makes me unbelievably happy. I was so soft and mellow watching this drama, having a near constant smile on my face. I adore this whole drama and all of it aspects and I can't wait for Between Us to come out to just have more content about these characters to watch. Now, excuse me while I go and watch all of the cast content I can find.

This drama was very wholesome... It had a lot of good points on fronts that I often have problems with in other BL dramas. For example, the story is purely focused on the relationship between the leads, the growing of their liking towards each other and the character's quirks. The writers didn't try to incorporate a 'darker' or 'more serious' B-plot.
The magic plot was well worked out and resulted in very cute and funny moments. The leads are very loveable characters and the the typical Japanese 'overacting' fits and isn't as annoying as it can sometimes be.
The songs were also lovely! The intro song is stuck in my head...
Would recommend to everyone looking for something simple!

Ambitious and on a limited budget, still manages exactly what it sets out to do!

"Till the world ends" was an extremely ambitious project that, despite a limited budget, really landed on its feet in the end. I'll split this review into the categories MDL gives (apart from rewatch value, because I just don't do that).

STORY: 8/10. I am a big fan of the apocalypse/dystopia genre, so it was really refreshing to see! Without any immediately obvious plotholes, it's a wild ride that follows a cast of easy-to-love characters. Once you look a bit deeper though, it becomes clear that (I think partly due to the limited runtime) characterization took a little bit of a backseat on this one. The relationships between the characters are written really well and are easy to recognize and empathize with. But individual characters' thinking was a bit more unclear to me. The ways in which most of them made decisions and were flipflopping between options so easily was a bit annoying. But I can write it off as: "These guys are about to die in the literal apocalypse, so I think I can forgive them."

ACTING: 9.5/10. I want to congratulate the whole team that worked on this series with the result, but especially the actors really knocked it out of the park. Despite the aforementioned flawed characterization, the cast was able to portray some actually real and human-feeling people here. I was especially impressed by Best and Michael, who really made me choke up at some times. Being able to empathize with the characters is so essential to one's enjoyment of a show, and the cast absolutely made that possible. The emoting this cast did... I'm really impressed.

MUSIC (+effects): 7/10. There was an obvious limit to the OST used, but I think the choice for mainly instrumentals was a really good one. Those were atmospheric and whoever was responsible for editing these in, did a great job at using them to enhance, not distract. OSTs can be quite annoying if it's the same one or two vocal songs over and over again, so using mainly these instrumental ones made it more lowkey, which works really well for a suspense-focused series. Speaking of suspense: I am sO impressed by the special effects. It's often one of the first things to cut down on when on a budget, but it's obvious there was a story to be told that necessitated them, and they worked GREAT. Also, the moon was super pretty...

I think I forgave this series a lot of things that I wouldn't if this was another series. However, I do that because the team behind this one obviously had a clear idea and were passionate about it. "Till the world ends" is really unique in its field, and I think that's why it deserves to be given some slack.

Perfect blend of fantasy, friendships, humor and thrilling adventures!

This drama is so fun and refreshing!

STORY: I saw this drama was based on a manhua, so I can't write all of the good things off to the writers of the series, but it was still amazing! The plot of this drama is quite unique for Korea, I really like the new things they're trying out. Since it's so completely new for Korea, I really feel like this is a series that could be good for first time watchers of Asian dramas (it's actually the first one I've recommended to my older sibling). The first time I read the description for The Uncanny Counter I actually didn't understand it at all, but I started watching it because it looked so out of left field. I'm sO glad I didn't let the confusing synopsis hold me back! The story is very well paced, it doesn't really have empty moments like most dramas do. I think that's mostly because the focus isn't on romance at all, and I've always preferred a heavier plotline with good relationships that are more in the background but still important to the plot. In this drama, I adored the 'found family' trope used for the group of Counters! The story behind Counters, Evil Spirits and Yung is worked out quite well, with a lot of eye for detail and little plotholes. It's very interesting!
My little sister is watching this drama as well, and she said something I totally agree with: this series will make you cry with laughter one second, and then just make you cry the next.

ACTING: was. great. The cast and characters being the Counters are all very very loveable! The cast does an amazing job at portraying the friendships and family bonds that connect their characters. The main character, So Mun, has become my favorite drama character really fast. He's so cute and genuine and Jo Byung Gyu did such a good job at portraying him. I'm very impressed by the whole's cast's acting, mainly in fight scenes. I obviously know they used stunt doubles too, but even then the cast have quite a bit of fight scenes where their faces are showing, so it's extremely impressive to me. The actors that portray evil spirits were also impressive. Lee Hong Nae, who portrays Ji Cheong Si, is at times genuinely terrifying. He uses his eyes and body movement really well to portray the evil of the spirits. Overall, I want to really tell the whole cast how amazing of a job they did.

MUSIC: Aside from the intro song (the instrumentals), I'm not that big of a fan of the music. I'm never really focused on the OST for dramas, anyway, so this doesn't really bother me. The sound mixing during the episodes themselves is really good, the songs never intrude on the scenes or feel out of place and when they play the intro during fight scenes it's really exciting and fun. The ballads that are part of the OST fit in during certain scenes, but when they use them to play the outro, it's often quite jarring, since most episodes end on a fight cliffhanger. But since that's not really part of the plot, I really don't care. As long as the sound during the episodes is good, it's all good for me.

REWATCH VALUE: Since there's more to this series than just a romance, but rather a web of crime, intrigue, a fantasy plot, good friendships, a found family and good character developments, this drama is extremely rewatchable. I'm really not a rewatcher as well, so this is a big compliment on my part!

If you're looking for something lighthearted, fun and quick, then this is the drama for you! The whole plot is just about a fun growing bromance (completely platonic) and is easy to watch. The characters are fun and it's obvious that the crew must have had a great time filming. The visual effects further help to create a funny and uncomplicated atmosphere. I can definitely see myself rewatching it in the future. The fact that it's completely available on YouTube (subbed and in high quality) adds to its charm!

Lighthearted and fast paced watch!

I see a lot of negative reviews for this drama, which I find such a shame! I understand how people could dislike how the main romance and SangHa's side plot feel disconnected but this is one of the reasons why I like it! The underlying 'serious plot' wasn't taken too seriously, which makes even the bad guys loveable and funny, and the side plot quite ridiculous! This is why I liked it better than "Where your Eyes Linger" that I found too serious too fast and a bit forced. Other than "Where Your Eyes Linger" this drama was well-paced and very cute! BL dramas are too short to have a really deep/serious storyline, so I liked how the main plot is as simple as this. I flew through the episodes and the performance of the leads was very impressive! Overall just very loveable drama.

TOO SHORT!!

The plot for this drama is so incredibly original, unique and new but its full potential sadly isn't reached.

The only thing I can pinpoint as lacking is the length of the series.
Don't get me wrong, the crew and cast did an amazing job at bringing it to life. There's unique camera work, the imagery of the color rush and the decoloring is well-done, the dialogue is interesting and the protraying of the two main leads was very good! But it pains me to have to admit that, if this wasn't a boys' love drama (or not a KOREAN boys' love, other countries tend to make them longer), the story would've been stretched to at least double the length it is right now. And it would have done a great job at exploring more of this unique world!
Looking at how little footage there is, it's unbelievable that the plot doesn't feel rushed or forced, a feat that I put up to the natural dynamics that were already there. The series could have used some extra scenes, just to satisfy my liking for domestic/candid interactions. But even though those weren't there, the story still feels genuine and progresses naturally. So that's incredible!
But still, knowing that the story could have easily been double the length, makes me frustrated with the way it is now. Aside from that, Yeon Woo's mother's disappearance is just completely forgotten about? So that was kinda weird.

The handle on the plot is really well done! The writers did a good job at working the details out and I liked the focus there was on the obsessive nature of monos. It might've felt a bit too much for some people, but I write that off to, once again, the length. If it was longer, Yeon Woo's obsessiveness might have progressed a bit more naturally, but the way it is now was well done in the circumstances. But back to the plot, the obsessive part is very real and I'm glad it wasn't avoided! If I imagine being a mono, it feels very normal that I'd become obsessed with literally the one (1) person who makes me see color. The returned fascination Yoo Han has due to his face blindness makes it work out for them, since it's like, as Yeon Woo says, a double miracle. I really liked the simultaneous aloofness and shamelessness of Yoo Han and Yeon Woo's internal dialogues do a good job at underlying the struggle he's having. The friends bring a nice and entertaining dynamic to it, even if they're not that present.

In conclusion, I wouldn't mind a future remake or special in which more of this world is explored, but until then I can just rewatch this one over and over (the only good thing about it being so short).
