Much better then the en of love version

I was skeptical at first because of watching En of love which was seemingly could have all been better if they had more scree time
I was scared that this was going to do what love by chance 2 did and making us see almost the exact some thing again for the first few episodes but surprisingly it didn’t the way they continued to be the same from En of love: Mechanics but in a much more elaborate way but sticking to the main plot point with some extra fillers made it feel like I was watching a whole different story so if you enjoyed the idea of En of love: Mechanics this is definitely worth a watch. I’m glad they stuck with 10ep. I think they could’ve left the parents for a second season and change the way BLs are made but I understand how budgeting and how it is very hard to get a second season for a BL is. I am still very satisfied with this BL and hope to see more like this from Wetv

No chemistry

A lot of people have mixed feelings about this BL, to me the only thing this BL had was a attractive cast and a decent side story (Man and Type deserve a spin off) the way the storyline evolved was absurd and made no sense a Straight man pretending with another straight man to be in a fake gay relationship to escape a gay man from hitting on him, why not just date a woman? Or make it abundantly clear that you have no interest in him? If that wasn’t enough the chemistry between Sarawat and Tine or the lack of I should say, was very clear both were distant and showed very little affection for each other, I don’t know if it was the actors that weren’t comfortable with being affectionate or it was supposed to be more PG (as gmmtv usually is) but it was very noticeable something was off.
As their story evolved the writers and directors could have and should have fixed the flaws especially in the second season (don’t let me get started on that mess) the only reason it didn’t get 1 star is because the soundtrack was decent and so was the side story, the actors portraying Man and Type had amazing chemistry and I felt a better connection with them then I did with the main cast unfortunately they did not get very much screen time but I looked forward to every scene they were in their storyline was much better then the main storyline (I still think they should have their own show)

Overall: The only way I would rewatch this is as a background show while a sleep, if you’re into more of a bromance kind of story you will enjoy this for the lack of chemistry between the mains, Is a okish BL for first time BL watchers it could either put you on to BLs or heavily put you off of them

Amazing Storyline

Let me start out by saying this BL is by far one of my favorites, the story didn’t leave me craving anything else, It touched on many important topics such as homophobia, reincarnation, suicide, depression, anxiety. This BL was truly a jem even though it was a college BL (they tend to be a little repetitive) everything was very unique and original, the side stories were also just as good as the main ones, the support characters worked very well with the mains, I’ve never seen anyone cry as much as Pharm did but every time he cried made me want to cry, everything they said to each other was truly genuine both actors have amazing chemistry and it showed on screen.
I loved how in this BL they were able to build a story without necessarily having a villain or someone toxic their story was solely based on their love for each other

Conclusion: I personally do not tend to rewatch BLs but this is definitely worth a rewatch it has everything you could ever want in a BL and exceeded my expectations

Story could’ve been better

I’ll keep this short. The story between Paiyu and Rain could’ve been lest dragged out, could have been better if they mixed Prai and Sky’s stories instead of making it into basically two parts. I know Prai and Sky’s story was more intense, but they would have balanced each other out well in my opinion. I enjoyed Prai and Sky’s story more then Paiyu and Rain I do like that both couples got almost the same amount of screen time (almost) you don’t see that often in multiple couple BLs. It’s definitely worth a watch even though Rain and Paiyu story sometimes left me bored or annoyed because it dragged on for to long.

Not as complex as people are making it seem

Everyone review I saw is trying to make the story more complex then what it is. I did like how it gave us both sides of the story from the main character’s point of view it’s a nice fresh take instead of having to guess what’s going on in the protagonists head.
One thing I didn’t like is how at the point Kiyoi realizes he likes Hira, Hira had already said he liked Kiyoi at that point something should’ve been hinted instead of trying to make us hate Kiyoi to later feel sorry for him.
I understand the creators message of love is messy, complicated and in where you least expect he also portrayed it very well in Dark Blue And Moonlight which has it’s own flaws but I won’t get into that.
To me this was a story of two people unable to properly process and communicate their feelings for one another. The way Hira saw Kiyoi as a god and how Kiyoi thrived off of it was a sign of toxicity in itself so many red flags where present, how Hira was supposed to magically know that Kiyoi liked him even though he treated him terribly, they were stuck in a master/servant relationship Hira was not strong enough to deter his feelings for Kiyoi even though he had not a single likable quality aside from being “pretty” and Kiyoi was not strong enough to tell Hira about his feelings or deal with them in a respectful or mature way, even after they graduated high school.
This was not a love story but a prequel to a toxic immature relationship, the only reason I’m giving it this high of a rating is for the way they told the story and not the storyline itself because for me you can have a love story where there is heartbreak or a certain dislike for a person without making it toxic take Mr.heart for example they did it perfectly

Rewatch value: you will catch on to things quicker when you rewatch it but it just made me dislike it even more because you can see the red flags even more

Storyline felt lacking

Let’s start put by saying it that you can tell it had a hefty budget and I believe they could have done more with it.
The way they incorporate film into the series was very well done and believable as other BLs (mostly engineering BLs) leave a lot to be desired in that department this one succeeded. Everything was done very well aside from the way the storyline unraveled it was very slow growing and obvious at many times I wanted to stop watching it because they made the Third look stupid for still being in love with Khai, the way Khai constantly hurt him made me feel somewhat mad and made me not like Khai at all, all the way up until the end, It seemed lazy how mid season the script was flipped and the story was just repeated but from a different perspective.
I will say for it being another College BL it was better then most and the storyline had a nice change of pace for involving the characters majors as a big part in the storyline, personally I would not rewatch but if you want a change in pace from the same college BLs it’s worth taking a look
